I will not write an enthusiastic comment, and it is so obvious that the quality in all its manifestations is, as always, at an excellent level. As for the work itself, it has nothing to do with modern classical music. Too sweet and tearful and a bit predictable in terms of harmonics and melodies. Modern classic is a little bit different story.
Well, "contemporary" means from the same time period and musically this piece is very much in tradition of tonal classical music. You'd be surprised to find out that fairly large portion of classical music can be described as "sweet" or "tearful".
As for predictability - it is not only to be expected, but it's pretty much meant to be when a sequence is used as the method of development in musical composition (which is also happens to be a very common technique in classical music).
I think I know what could have triggered you in my use of the word "contemporary" (a fancy word which some groups would like to monopolize), but I'd just say that I don't care about labels and ego flex that comes with them. I make music with the aim of touching people's hearts and lifting their spirit. Sorry if you missed that point.
