Nintendo has been making their games exclusively for themselves for decades and no one bats an eye. To be honest I feel like the quality of ff mainline games going forward will decrease since they will be multi-platform.
I think this will hold true if games have to be optimized for both Switch and the Series S. I also agree with your first point about Nintendo. The FF franchise has a lot more competition than it did in the 90s and it seems like SE might just now be coming to terms with that
how the hell are they going to port these games to Switch? Switch 2 I get, but ffxvi for example on Switch? Why? Its not even out on PS4 or XB1... if they design games to run on ancient hardware like Switch then that isnt good IMO.
Well they did that with the Witcher and some other games they run alright but I agree the switch won't be able to run these "well" be better playing on pc, Xbox or Ps5.
Exclusives are such a stupid thing to begin with, and I've always hated it.Not only is it bad for the company since it basically means you are earning way less money than you should be, but also very bad for gamers...like people who were excited for a game only to find out it's only available on a platform they do not own, meaning they either do not play it, or they have to buy a console or PC just to play one title. Imo, and there will be disagreements for sure, I think as long as the developers are capable of doing so and want to, their games should be on as many platforms as possible, so that it can reach as many gamers as possible, and this obviously benefits them with money too. So this is great news that Square is going multi-platform, breaking the shackles from Sony. As much as I love my PlayStation, I would love to have these games on the PC with beautiful graphics and high frame rates lol. And obviously, other people who don't own a PS5, but own a PC or Xbox deserve to enjoy this game too, and now they have a chance ^^
Exactly well said dude. The more gamers that get their hands on these amazing games the better and plus making it look better and have higher frame rates for the ones wanting to play it on pc is also amazing. I just can't wait to play them again personally 😁
I doubted it ever going to be sooner, same thing happen to og ff7, They probably gonna release FF7 to multi platform after a whole trilogy came out on Playstation first, it basically how 1997 Playstation 1 ff7 happen, Obviously Playstation game will came to PC year after game came out tho
I don’t think the remake trilogy will go too other platforms at least not until the 3rd part comes out on PlayStation due to the exclusivity deal Sony made also rebirth is definitely a masterpiece
Yeah that's what I was thinking due to the exclusivity. I will happily take ff16 on Xbox or pc for the moment then give me ff7 to play again once it's over. So I can experience it all again 😁. I didn't expect rebirth to be as amazing as it is. But it's sooo good.
Great news. I've loathed the idea of 3rd party Exclusives since I was a teenager. I've always believed that 3rd party games should be multiplatform and exclusives should come from 1st party developers.
Yup It still sucks having games locked to 1 platform ( even if you have them all) but yeah I agree first party that's fine. But things made by other companies shouldn't be locked to one console. Just shows how it's affected their sales.
@@Solestro Final Fantasy VII Remake was an EGS exclusive on PC for a 6 months. The Kingdom Hearts collection remains an EGS exclusive. While they don't have Denuvo, Octopath Traveler, Octopath Traveler II, and FF XII did have it. The Steam version of FF XV still has Denuvo.
Exactly that's all we should care about is our favourite games/franchise's doing well. Non of this console wars stuff. As long as the games continue to do well and they make more il support it. Plus gives me more opportunity to play them again lol
@Solestro I personally think the dumbest thing square did was release ff7 remake on ps4 then say to everyone bad luck you can't play rebirth on ps4 and then to further rub salt in ps4 users eyes they release dlc for remake exclusive to ps5 what was the point of releasing remake on ps4
@@seanowens1073 Totally agree with that, funny thing is either its a conspiracy theory or i am just totally misremembering this, but when it first got shown off, im sure i preordered it for xbox and then when i looked a few months later it was PS only. So either im crazy or they changed it lol. But yeah they shot themselves in the foot a bit, why not release it everywhere so everyone can play it.

I understand switch and pc, but Xbox is pretty much a dead console right now. There's pretty much no exclusives on it.
