Classic Game Room reviews PAC-MAN on the Nintendo Switch NAMCO MUSEUM in the Nintendo Switch Namco Museum review featuring Nintendo Switch Namco Museum UA-cam review gameplay recoded from Nintendo Switch. Namco Museum on the Switch has 11 games including Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga, Rollinger Thunder 1 and 2, Tank Force, Splatterhouse, Sky Kid and more. - Розваги
I'm sad you passed over the fact that Pac Man Vs. comes with this Namco Museum, the best version since the Gamecube Original. The package is really worth it for that and Tower of Druaga alone.
In the 24th Century, there will be a Namco Museum version released for Holodecks and people will still be playing them...
When will SoulCaliber be old enough to be in Namco Museum?
But it will have shrunk to two games.
Kinda lame that they didn't include the "arrangement" versions.
@@skellsskells 2002 released vesion right?
It's also lame they didn't include Mappy, Hopping Mappy, and Mappy Arrangement in there too.
Bandai includes Bosconian on every one of their Namco plug and play toys but rarely on any console release. It's very strange.
Waaaaaaat. They got the arcade port of Splaterhouse!? I'm in!
WHY IS POLE POSITION NOT ON THIS?? WHY IS IT UNDERRATED? IT WAS THE BEST F1 RACER OF 1982!!!
And the first Namco Museum on GBA (2001) has Pole Position and it runs more smoothly than the PS1 port.
I love the Namco Museum series!
Rolling Thunder 2 is a god tier spy-themed walk n' hide n' jump n' gun
The question is why isn’t there a “namco collection” Collection now????
I love how they added HD rumble to all these games
Never seen Tank Force before. Reminds me of the Tank stage in Tron.
I grew up owning a bootleg multicart for the NES and it had Battle City which is basically the port of Tank Force, LOVED Battle City especially two players
Great to see this new version of Tank Battalion.
Pac-Man is the best old school videogame character of all. The simplicity of his conception is genius.
Mappy is way better than Pacman in my opinion.
Collection needs Bosconian, Rally X, Tower of Druaga, and Lucky & Wild
Don't forget Mappy. Mappy is the best one in my opinion.
I think they should also have included the arrange versions from namco classics collection in arcades.
It’s time for Namco Museum 2
Dig Dug collectors guide would be an instant purchase for me
you could open the hori stick and flip the restrictor gate to be 4 way i'm pretty sure
the game that I was really hoping to appear on all the NAMCO MUSEUM GAMES is splatterhouse becuase most people never play it or heard it before. The game in 1988 on the arcades and later ported for the Turbo Grafx 16. So this is a welcome addition for the NAMCO MUSEUM GAMES.
I have truxton 1 & 2 also musha, but they’re all really challenging
Surprised you didn't take a minute to extoll the virtues of Pac-Man Vs., which is an awesome game. I mean, Mark, if someone loves Pac-Man as much as you AND wants to play with friends while Mario shouts things at them? The only way to do that is with Pac-Man Vs. And using two Switches is way easier than connecting three GBAs to a GameCube.
On the Stick is splatter house on the 360 Namco museum?
Larry Medina Nope!
These new games ive never known to believe to be on the switch before thats really something.
Wow! We have Namco Museum for Game Cube, Wii, not sure about Wii U, and now for Switch. Looks like this one is the best version.
I disagree, this Namco Museum doesn’t even have Mappy. Namco Museum 50th Anniversary for GC and Namco Museum DS are the best Namco Museums in Nintendo consoles/handhelds.
Needs Bosconian
Remember NAMCO MUSEUM on PS? Now wait for NAMCO MUSEUM 2, NAMCO MUSEUM 3, NAMCO MUSEUM 4 and NAMCO MUSEUM 5 for Switch! Ready to pay another $500!
Do a video on all Pong games, also that weird 3d one for the playstation
Great to see the Switch has a Namco Museum! I'll be sure to get it.
one company who have remastered their arcade games but really went to town on doing so is sega with their arcade 3d classics of some of their games for the 3ds.
i only just recently got a 3ds xl but as soon as i saw outrun 3d/super hang on/streets of rage 1 & 2 e.t.c i just had to buy them.
man they are worth every penny of the £4.50 each they cost.
sega really went to town on remastering them for the 3ds even going so far as to record the money going into the slots of the actual machines (as well as the button sounds and hydraulics of the sit down versions.
you can change the aspect ratios also (and have either sit down or standing arcade views if you want (as the actual machines would look like).
the 3d effect is fantastic also (well i think it is).
if you love the classic games like outrun or afterburner and have a 3ds they are fantastic :-)
*i may sound like a huge fanboy and you would be right but the games are bloody great.
I agree, I love Sega 3D Classics on 3DS, spent a lot of time on them, especially Super Hang On.
really shoulda done a bit about Pac-Man vs.
ok please tell me where to get this as I cant find it anywhere
Starfox assault on the gcn had xevious as an unlockable.
I'd play Frogger x Xevious. Frevious. Xogger.
"like crossing streams into infinite awesomeness"
I want the game Mappy.
Here’s a crazy idea for a crossover how bout “Skykid vs spykids”
Thanks dood.
The Switch really needs to be able to pivot that kickstand so you can prop up the system in vertical mode for games like Gauntlet....[]
Physical release or download only?
Frogger, eh? Worth noting, just for the nostalgia of it all. There is now this little micro arcade collection out there on select toy shelves that has the Frogger game available for play...along with Pac-Man and a few other classic titles. Things look a bit like an arcade machine and have functional controls. (Not going to say great. Heck. After a hard core session, I half expect those plastic sticks to break apart.) However, titles like Frogger and Q-Bert and Centipede are using little back lit LCD screens to introduce a full gaming experience. Sadly, the Pac-Man and Asteroids versions are still stuck in the '80s with pre-positioned symbols that represent sprites. What else can I say about them? For the $20 sales price...you can probably get a superior version on any gaming platform. But, they exist. And do make an interesting novelty.
I'm pretty sure the Q-Bert version is running a ripped off port from the NES code. Not too sure where the Centipede/Frogger codes came from. Not likely to be the arcade source, though.
If I want 1 more game to the museum it's THE IDOLM@STER. That's an arcade game, right?
lol
I own Namco Museum for the Original Xbox I used to own the Game Boy Advance Version back in Late 2004 - Early 2005 but I lost it when we moved but hey I'll trying to pick up a another one so I can play Pac-Man on the go I miss the Game Boy Advance Version
Vectrex Truxton? Yes please.
say, if you are starting an xevious collector's guide, then check out the 3d classics version on the Nintendo 3ds. it's the nes version, with slightly updated graphics and is for only six bucks.
Can't wait to get a switch. I also have those other Namco museums.
Tank Force is an arcade version of Battle City for the Famicom.
Frogger x Xevious sounds actually not a bad idea!
This looks like a perfect version of the arcade Pac-Man. So much better than the old PlayStation and N64 versions. There should always be classic arcades released to every system and they should also release an mammoth collection arcade classics to computers as well. They should include games like Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Mario Bros., Frogger, Burgertime, Zookeeper, Q*Bert, Popeye, Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man...
Don't forget Mappy.
I used to love splatter house. Maybe I'll get this.
Just buy Splatterhouse (2010). You get the arcade port and Splatterhouse 2&3.
Honestly, I think you’re best getting splatterhouse on VC. It’s the turbografx version, which is arguably better controlling. But yeah, it’s censored.
Chris Calvert there's also the Japanese pc port, which is region free.
Yeah I saw it had that and the arcade Rolling Thunder 1 and 2. Those three and the other classics makes it look like a good buy.
No mention of Pac Man Vs.? That's what made it worth it for me!
great
I thought you would run out of things to say about Pac man...I was wrong lol
I feel that Ms Pacman and Super Pacman were missing from this collection.
It’s also missing my favorite game Mappy
Namco Museum 👍
The PS2 Namco Museum was epic, even had 80s music in the background. This is 2017, and it feels like a step down in my opinion. Nevertheless, I like having these games re-released _again_ . I feel like it should be required on every console now.
Vendzor, The PS2 version also had the 'Arrangement' titles, which were some of the best games in the collection.
Namco Museum has been repackaged almost as many times as Street Fighter II
Not 'Xevious'
Best handheld since the Nomad? The cons outweigh the pros, including Truxton
I think that was the joke.
It's always bothered me they changed the American box art for Sky Kid
Why didnt they add rally x or new rally x
When is switch review coming?
They should put mame on the switch 8$ each
Lacking Super Pac Man?
No dice.
Here is the sad thing. This day and age they could have included every single arcade game they made but instead only gave us 11 I mean you where able to do that and more on ps2 for fucks sake. Namco take a note from Sega and their genesis collection and give us something great next time
The biggest flaw this Namco Museum has is the fact this didn’t include Mappy, which is my favorite game of all time. This compilation would’ve been a lot better if they just include Mappy, that’s how amazing Mappy is. Skykid, Pac-Man, Dig Dug, And Galaga are very fun and very good games, but Mappy beats all these games combined, I have more fun with Mappy than any other Namco game.
Is "Ultra Massive Video Game Console Guide Volume 1" supposed to be $35.96 because "Ultra Massive Video Game Console Guide Volume 2" cost only $14.79?
you should treat your pacman addiction!!!!
I'd get it just for splatterhouse if it was a physical release. $30 is just way too much for this kind of thing digitally.
Im not a big fan of how they treat namco museum for switch. First, I think $30 is way too much for the miniscule amount of games you get, should be like $15 or $20. Second, make a physical version for $30 then, this is the type of game I want to be able to play on a cartridge. Third, release some of the bigger titles as separate apps, like Pac Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug.
Commander Ox Namco Museum has never been the same outside the original PS1 discs.
Christopher Sobieniak the PSP and Xbox 360 versions were the best imo. Best game selection & value.
Commander Ox Yeah I thought the "Battle Collection" on the PSP was worth it.
Commander Ox I'd rather they gave you an option later to buy additional games as DLC for this if they wanted to include more Namco titles in the future.
Christopher Sobieniak The DS one was also good, EXCEPT THEY FORGOT TO EVEN ADD DIG DUG 1, they had Dig Dug 2 but not Dig Dug 1
What about pac-man vs. Hands down the best party pac-man game ever!!!!
How many time do they have to re release these games? There are plenty of namco arcade games that have never been released outside of the Arcade but they always choose pacman, digdug etc...
To be fair, though, Pac-Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug are practically the Holy Trinity of games you would most expect to find in a collection of Namco arcade classics.
@@seanmyster6 They're the most common to release, but they're not the best in my opinion. Mappy beats Pacman, Galaga, and Dig-Dug all combined! Yet the fact that Namco didn't port Mappy in Namco Museum for Switch is a really shameful move.
keep these switch reviews coming
Frogevious?
Galaga is the reason I got Namco Museum.
Galaga is my favorite!
@@locutus94 Mappy is my favorite.
Splatterhouse? take my money
Namco barely acknowledges Ms Pac-Man these days. Notice how glaring it is that her game isn’t in this collection.
Daily reminder that Ms. Pac-Man was basically a licensed ROM hack created by Midway before ROM hacks were a thing.
Kind of a shame because I believe Ms. Pac-Man was the superior game.
So is Sonic Mania.
LemonSlice, that's right.
RkivUnderground
Obviously. That still didn’t stop Namco from rereleasing the game in various compilations over the decades. Unfortunately they stopped doing so since 2014 and they don’t even include Ms Pac Man in any modern properties these days.
@RkivUnderground We need more of those, then.
How many times do they have to re-release these damn games?
Luke, I'm on TV every time.
Luke, I'm on TV EVERY system needs the best classics.
These games are tired. We need to give them a rest
Luke, I'm on TV Splatter house makes this version worth it.
Luke, I'm on TV You're a boy not a man . Go away
Hoping for volume 2
This Namco Museum is terrible! It doesn’t have Mappy, which is a really great game. Mappy should also be included in every Namco Museum compilation as well!
Yeah, the only other version of Namco Museum I have is the DS version.
Thanks to that game I was introduced to Pac man, (you can tell how young I was) Mappy and Galaga (sorry if I spelt Galaga wrong).
I don't remember much from Mappy because I lost the cartridge sadly, and I still have no idea where it might be
But from what I can remember, it was a very addictive and fun game that I spent the last few weeks playing before I stopped playing my DS.
I hope they update Namco Museum, or make a newer one with Mappy in it
@@thegooobley1993 I do have Namco Museum DS, it's one of my all-time favorite compilations ever. I use it to play Mappy, Galaga, Xevious, and Pacman portably anywhere. Yeah, Mappy is really addictive and great game. Really cool a new generation like you appreciate and enjoy the classics, especially Mappy :) Do you go to ebay to shop? I found out in Ebay, there's a lot of Namco Museum DS cartridges to buy in affordable price. If you'd like to get it, you can always go there to buy :) I got really disappointed to find out Namco keeps forgetting to put Mappy in Namco Museum compilations nowadays, hopefully they finally put it in the next one or as DLC.
it Didn’t work for me
The best Namco Museum is on PS1. All 5 volumes have such a great amount of games, like Bosconian or Dragon Buster for example.
And Mappy.
The Original NAMCO Musuems for the PS1 were the best ones.
+Danny Sweeney 2 Some of them included games that were never re-released such as Toy Pop and Legend of Valkyrie.
What made Namco Museum for the PS1 great is that the games can be played on PS Vita, which is where I primarily play those games. But it's good to know that I can play them on the PS3 as well, since I purchased them digitally.
TornadoADV I think Namco Museum for Original Xbox and Game Boy Advance are the best Versions
In A Way Tank Force Is Like Grobda. They Both Have To Do With Tank Combat.
I have a copy of virtual arcade, but only the Xbox live games work. The actual arcade doesn't and every time I try to open a game it just freezes with a blank screen and I end up having to restart my Xbox.
got a l.a noire switch ad on this.
Ahh the dreamcast, is there anything it can’t do?
Apart from play truxton.
terrible collection for the money... I regret it since the day I got it, but sadly I have the digital version.
greatest game ever made
Wait... this collection has two Rolling Thunder games AND Splatterhouse!? Well it's not the PS1 Namco Museum games (sorry, but I REALLY liked the 3d museums you could walk around in) but, damn it, it's close! Now what the hell is The Tower of Druaga doing in there... ?
Wouldn't it make more sense to release an open version of a Namco Museum and have all the games available as DLC packs and season bundles?
God no!
nice and we have ..pac-man
I wonder who's gonna get pinned today
None
lol propping your switch up against the cat? I don't think the cat would like that much and probably makes it prone to scratches
ahhhhhhhhhh sheeeeee aughhhht
You call this a review?
yes
Lolololoo
Uhm... what is that a half-naked women on the cover of Rolling Thunder 2... seriously?!? That nixes this for me instantly.
I'm not gonna complain but I find It hard to believe that someone would rush out to buy a Nintendo Switch to play yet another version of Pac-Man.
What the hell Namco? Why not port Tekken, Soul Calibur or Dark Souls to the Switch?
They should also port Mappy.
