It's just how COTA is. Almost all of the series of corners are decreasing radius, so you end up coasting and lightly decelerating the whole time until you hit a straight. They should've designed it to have the reverse so you were building speed through all of the corners like how it is in most tracks. I drove a Miata and a Ferrari 458 there with similar tires and everywhere but the straights the Miata was just as fast because there's nowhere to really accelerate because there's always a corner coming up that's slower than the last one. As nice of a facility as it is, the actual layout is kind of a buzzkill, only cars and bikes on insanely grippy slicks can really do more than coast a lot of these corners.
@@chenspeed It is absolutely not a fast flowy track, what bullshit arcade video game did you learn that from? I've driven it in real life twice in a Miata and a Ferrari 458 and have run countless sim laps in all sorts of cars and bikes, if you think you're "on the gas" for most of it, you're driving it in something super slow or playing an inaccurate video game.
@@nunyabusiness896 Does my profile pic give you the impression I play video games? I can't speak for how cars drive on the track, only actual motorcycles, not sims. And the track flows. Having points of hard braking after short straights doesn't make it not flow. But like i said, i can't speak to how cars handle it. But appreciate your assumption I don't know what i'm talking about. I've ridden there twice in IRL as well. And i should have stated more clearly, that on the gas in most of it is how it should be when you're not braking right? I meant they were coasting thru the turns, into the turns and thru many parts of it. I'm not even saying I'm fast, I'm just saying when youre at the track, you're supposed to be either on the gas or on the brakes. That's what we all try to work up to while riding at the track.
+JeeprzCreepers56 Yeah, but they can teach you to ride faster in the corners, at the rate they were going, I'm sure a moderately skilled rider on a 250 would be miles ahead. Tracks aren't about straights, they're about the corners. He can ride what he wants, but man he'd learn how to ride much quicker on a 250.
"Whew! Gettin' tired. It's insane how MotoGP guys do this, for what, 45 [minutes]?" - That's the truth there! It's mentally and physically tiring. Track rides are so much more than you just sitting on a bike and twisting the throttle. Hard to believe if you've never done one, but I love it!
Its neat for sure. Couple spots out there are pretty gnarly at a fast pace. Was nice that the track management was very interested to hear what problems the track had.
+chaseontwowheels I'll do my best to make sure that doesn't happen. The jokes part, not the living part haha. jk... Maybe... Hope to do a track day with you bro!
Your Panigale crash is what got me into following your channel and many others, including Motonosity, Walterrific and more. Think of it as taking one for the team. I got the link your Panigale video via Adventure Riders Forum (ADV or advrider)
That day was super fun!! Don't think we crossed paths at all that day on the track but was cool to meet you. I had an indicated 169 on the back straight and still had room but not the balls to hold that braking zone to push faster. That straight is mental!!!!!
Real Deal i'm pretty sure it's intermediate. it can't be beginner because they're overtaking other people. you can't do that in the beginner level right? and they can't be any more than intermediate because advanced would be going a lot faster and would be pretty much all sportbikes.
If you wanna get more out of the straightaway, keep on it until closer to the end, then give a hard grab of front brake to slow you down, then ease on the brake to set your corner speed. You get more out of the straightaway, and you can set your corner speed more comfortably that way versus doing a long, dragged out feather on the brakes. :D
Plan b "B" get a smaller slower bike and learn the basic art of "ride the wheels of it" even down to keeping the clutch and brake levers covered ! I was in Austin August 5th to see a concert at The Track of the Americas! it looked awesome to ride but my gsxr was 300miles away in south texas! I need to move out there!
that was fun to watch bud......i.can only imagine how it feels. that was pretty entertaining. I'm from.san antonio and it was cool to see cota POV style.
LOL, if you look up on google maps Circuit of the Americas. There is a "Plane" on the track inbetween turn 19, and 20. Now that's next concept of racing.
That.. was tamer than I expected from the entire group of riders. You should get one of those instructors to help you really stretch that bike's legs on track, you'll be amazed what you can do!
Awww man. I wish my local track would allow us to have the GoPro on the helmet. Best I could do was on the tank and run the mic into my helmet. Good to see both you guys on the track tho! 👌🏻
good job bro looks like you had fun. try to drive through those corners more. i could see your body position improve theough the cideo, but throttle is important. keep having fun!
The reason no one has ever done a dual vlog on a track is because at race pace the last thing you think about is vloging. I have tried to vlog on track and the video proves my point.
+Motonosity yeah haha. I wish I could vlog on the track. I'm working on it. but my main problem is my bikes are way to loud on the track. I was yelling into my very sensitive mic last I tried
man I would Marvel to do a track day with you. that looks like a crazy fun on that course. I'll be at NJMP in two weeks. This weekend is the MotoAmerica Finalé on Thunderbolt.
it will do 200. it just stops reading at 186 (300kmh) my friend has a gsxr 750 that was racing a corvette and he said it started flashing at 186....then the corvette passed him. lol so yeah it has more I had my 600 at 150 more than once. nice video.
If you are able to upshift whitouth clutch, and you get good doing it, you will be able to go faster and smoother than upshifting with the clutch, and, if im not wrong, you can downshift without the clutch too but it is much harder =). (sorry if i missed any word, im not very good at english) Greetings from Spain! Have a good day Sir!
I know this vid is old but enjoyed it man. I would love to go do a track day but unfortunately i would have to travel quite a ways. Good old Peoria, IL has nothing but a dirt track speedway. Haha.
when you lean into corners you have to counter steer but do you keep counter steering all the way through the turn or just to start the lean and also how do you mange to lean so sharp and then lean on the other side so quickly like on an apex turn
This has got to be the world slowest track day
I thought it was a school and not about speed but about technique

lol I don't know if you'll read this, but I was the guy who went down on your video.
Juan 1809 sorry to hear that!! hope you didn't get hurt!!! wishing you a good recovery if u did!! ride safe and have fun!!
2 years ago.. just watching this now but hope you were ok my dude!!!
You still riding?
Hey man you alright ?
At the pace you two are going, you might need to consider some 250's...
+Jewfishy or, you know, I can own whatever bike I want to...
250's don't reach speeds of 150mph
+JeeprzCreepers56 Yeah, but they can teach you to ride faster in the corners, at the rate they were going, I'm sure a moderately skilled rider on a 250 would be miles ahead. Tracks aren't about straights, they're about the corners.

Good for you "bro" not all about going fast is it
But can be rode at a track like it's meant to be fast and not just
winding it on down the easy bits
Intense! Gotta be the fastest dual vlog ever recorded lol
They put the turn points on that track? That's really useful for people that haven't ridden that track before...

Motonosity ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Can I get in on this action? ;)
my gosh i just thought you motonosity and hunter collab

Oh damn, that Panigale mention for C2W. Love it!

By far my favorite video of motorcycle riding just because it feels like I'm there. Thanks for this
MotoGPnosity
Nice one
Sick video, I got 247kmh (153mph) in my video on my yamaha r6 the second time I rode the bike! COTA is such an amazing track! Great video
you guys are lucky to be able to do a track day there .from what i see and hear it is a amazing track .
Its neat for sure. Couple spots out there are pretty gnarly at a fast pace. Was nice that the track management was very interested to hear what problems the track had.
I was out there for the Slipknot concert! I didn't see you but I caught Hunter Honda on the last session.
That R1 pull on the straights though! You destroyed a few guys in full tuck. Quality video too! Very nice.
+Chuck Mastin preciate it man! It was a good time
This video makes me miss doing track days...but soon. I think my new in life is to live long enough to outlast the Ducati jokes.
+chaseontwowheels I'll do my best to make sure that doesn't happen. The jokes part, not the living part haha. jk... Maybe... Hope to do a track day with you bro!

What a beautiful track. Nice carving Motonosity.

good to see you guys made it out to the track.
The dual vlog is AWESOME!!!
I really love watching track days. I don’t think I’ll ever have the nuts to actually go out and try one though. Looks like a blast.
That day was super fun!! Don't think we crossed paths at all that day on the track but was cool to meet you. I had an indicated 169 on the back straight and still had room but not the balls to hold that braking zone to push faster. That straight is mental!!!!!
+West Side Ride Yeah last time I was here I knocked 150. That seemed slow. To me this time haha
Looked like so much fun! I hope to do a track day soon myself. Nice riding man!
My father reached 165mph on his CBR900RR, pretty sure your R1 can do more than that.
Course it can, electronically limited to 186
he needs a different rear sprocket
it should be able to do 200mph. but yeah it's limited to 180 or some shit.
+2cool0 do we know if he's novice or intermediate?
Real Deal i'm pretty sure it's intermediate. it can't be beginner because they're overtaking other people. you can't do that in the beginner level right? and they can't be any more than intermediate because advanced would be going a lot faster and would be pretty much all sportbikes.
Felt adrenaline from watching this, im on a 125cc, long time before i'm like that haha great video!
This is AWESOME! i can tell y'all had so much fun!
What an epic track to ride!!! Thanks for the video. Still love that Toce exhaust.
AWESOME! Dual track day vlogging iz Dope!
thanks dude!
Whats up with everyone riding so slow in the corners and practically coasting into the turns? Was this a beginners session or something?
SVrider yeah there riding level 1
dual vlogs on the track are so damn cool! love this man!
So sick! Such a fast course and so safe too!!
I like the dual vlogs with hunter

R1 is one of the greatest sounding bikes! If I didnt know better I'd say it was a vtwin
I was in Austin August 5th to see a concert at The Track of the Americas! it looked awesome to ride but my gsxr was 300miles away in south texas! I need to move out there!

Awesome to watch someone else on the track! I just went on the track for the first time today and it feels so good!!
Shots fired at Chase 😂😂
That double apex, and the next corner before the long right sweeper are the toughest for me lol.
your should do more of these with other vloggers. that was entertaining. I'm going to get on my bike now cuz watching that makes me want to ride.
I haven't been to a track day in so long. a lot of fun. even when your not on the track
That, my friend, was a bad ass video!
+Sam Iam thanks bro!

Practice on cornering too. It'll change your idea on riding.
Wow that track is amazing... I'm in love
Awesome footage guys! Hope it's not the last time you do a dual vlog at the track!!

Saw that Panigale that went down when I came to see Hunter at the garage, poor guy! At least only the left side of the fairing was meat up.

+Motonosity yeah haha. I wish I could vlog on the track. I'm working on it. but my main problem is my bikes are way to loud on the track. I was yelling into my very sensitive mic last I tried
Next time you do this if you can put your speed up in the corner
Yeah maybe lap time and layout of track with. dot of you and maybe other people like Hunter Honda or whoever you ride with in the future
Track days look so fun
why are you going so slow on the track?

god i love cota man, i love driving there on the sim.
Wait... Why wasn't he using the clutch to shift gears?
Quickshifter allows clutchless upshifts but you have to use the clutch to shift down.
Hahah lmfao!! that chaseontwowheels joke is awesome
great stuff Moto!
Gotta admit, the dual vlogging during a td was pretty nice! Hope to see you guys down there next year. I was down at COTA from MN in July. :-)
Those tires have good traction on the sides too...

That looks like way too much fun
Nice work man
Love the track content, please upload more !!!!!!
Do you need a special mount or anything to motovlog during a track day? ..You know how everything has to be safety wired and stuff
hey i have been loving your videos keep it up!
awesome duel vlog I been wanting to hit the track but the full gear to dam expensive lol
Nice vid man. Can you show your tires before and after track next time? :D
Your next Build Series should be a track day bike
3:35 You can thank Formula 1 for that lol.
Just got my M endorsement HYPE!!
+Nolan Koenig nice bro!
+Motonosity thanks! Means a lot!!
@chaseontwowheels that will never get let down
Dumb question, I know it is, but how come he is using his clutch to shift down gears but not when going up? Whatever it is is an amazing idea.
He just made a video on clutchless shifting. Watch that

COTA is one of my fav tracks in Forza Motorsport 6
Looks good when F1 do that track but man does it look better on hay motorbike 💪🏻👍🏻
I gotta track day Monday, so excited. I wanna see your tires after that run. Did you get your knee down?
+heisenberg check my Instagram! Posted a picture of my rear tire on there. Close to knee down but not quite. Lots of room for improvement :)
You should check out garmin edit. You can import a gpx file into it and make a screen overlay showing the speed
