That's a great video idea actually, the break down of some of the costs. It could be fairly cheap if you're getting started, but as you do more events and get faster, the costs of consumables and "things to have" start to climb up no doubt.
With out a doubt, on Average I would say it cost about 400-500$ to run at the track for the day including gas, food, track day itself… also have to had fees for bike prep etc
We have a local track not too far away from COTA where dB limits are a thing, they started building homes right by the track... sort of what happened to Laguna Seca.
@@CubanRider Yep - build new homes near track, buyer then complains about track noise! It is like moving into a house next to a bar and complaining about drunks :) Love your riding btw. I normally ride a superduke r, but I love suprising people with pace on my tenere 700. You should take a look at the IOM TT this week and next - they are already puling 133mph average lap times and it is practice week. It doesn't cost much to watch via the website.
Fabulous "track tour", thanks mate! If I'd live within a few hours of COTA, I'd now definitely check my calendar and make things possible. Very inviting video. Three questions: at what time does a track day at COTA normally start (with mandatory tech inspection e. g.)? What does an average track day cost? And do most riders sleep in their trailers or are there some motels etc. around the track?
Thanks Chris. Track day normally starts at 6 am for registration and bike tech, 7 for riders meeting and 8 on track. Other events run an hour later. The average cost for COTA is $500 a day. Many riders sleep in nearby hotels or at home if they don't live too far. I used to wake up around 4 am to make it to the track around 6:30, but now I arrive the night prior to the event and we're allowed to camp overnight.
Very nice, my friend. Sorry we didn't get to ride together! Very busy weekend for both of us. It's always a pleasure seeing you, and I can't wait until the next one!
This is great Cuban, I’d love to see more of these videos as you go to other tracks so we get to know them! Have you been to SoCal yet ? Come on out to Chuckwalla in September! Would be great to meet you!
Going for my first track day, COTA Sep 3. I have a shiny new-ish bike, but no truck, trailer etc so I'll be riding in morning of and riding home afterwards. Nervous but excited!
I'm not as worried about the bike as I am for the hydration and staying cool. You should be doing classes in between sessions in the air conditioned classrooms upstairs, so that works out okay. Ridesmart also provides water, so make sure you're balancing your meals to replenish the salts. Otherwise, ask as many questions as possible and don't worry too much about learning it all at once, focus on having fun! Check out my page on FB, I just uploaded a video about a turn-by-turn guide of COTA.
Unas facilidades bellas. Aunque no traigas ni un techito para cubrirte del sol, puedes subir al segundo piso y en esas salas hay un aire acondicionado bien rico.
The ignition situation has happened to me as well, I took off the ignition lubed everything up and it has been all good thus far. Great video as always Mr. Cuban !
Hi Cuban, another great video! Given you have done many track days since your humble beginnings and now you really have gotten into a weekend racer, when are you going to make that final transition into a full on sports bike?? Don’t get me wrong, I love the XR and own one myself.
That was the goal with the Tuono, but that one had an incident, didn't work out. Higher capabilities so I could grow as a rider. Maybe I try again next year.
That room is the best to stretch, carpeted and with nice AC, plus you have to be there anyways. I used to do some static stretching during the riders meeting, but these days I do some squats to get the blood pumping and I feel good on track.
Looks about to the same as in sweden, except for the r1 with that loud exhaust, you are not going anywhere near any tracks with that and same for most european tracks
Nice one Cuban very interesting and informative enjoyed this as always big thumbs up buddy👍👌 regards Glenn.
As someone looking to get into track days,
getting the sense track days are not cheap 🤣

Worth every dollar though. 😅
It's not that bad and the fun far out weighs the cost. We try not to think about it too much.
Have been enjoying the videos, also like the little update vlogs though so keep it up !
Excellent video Cuban, shame that the circuit and the event is 5000 miles away from me 😁
Tampa is getting a track sounds fun, thanks for showing us around this track.
I really appreciate this video, nice to see an overall track day experience, doing my 1st track day July 1st, this helps!
That's awesome!
No scrutineering in the ones I have done in the UK. They do check the dB levels in the pit and drive by. Everyone seems a lot more cheerful in texas !

The same story with people building homes near airports. They know planes are taking off there.😅

Very nice work man. I really appreciate your intelligent commentary. Thanks! I'm in Colorado, can't wait to come down. A day drive away.
Ive never been to COTA but I am going end of November, thanks so much for this very helpful content!
You really have to do more of those informational style videos, i really enjoy you talking about the whole topic!
Hey Cuban! I was the guy getting my suspension done on the R7. It was great meeting you!
How did the bike feel?
@@CubanRider it felt awesome. Roger always does a great job
thank you for this video... I'll be starting my track days on an XR - your videos are very helpful!
Great Video! Loved all the commentary, please do more if you go to other tracks. Ride safe
been looking to get on a track and its cool to see what all to expect. thanks for the vids you do.
Really cool video Cuban, COTA looks like such an awesome weekend of riding! I enjoyed the behind the scenes narration.
COTA is special no doubt, great vibe.
Keep riding that XR , the are under rated !! I run one at Homestead Miami...
Very nice, my friend. Sorry we didn't get to ride together! Very busy weekend for both of us. It's always a pleasure seeing you, and I can't wait until the next one!
Always great seeing you as well. Hope to ride together soon.
el detras de camaras... nice work!!!
Great video! Can you make a part 2 of this video. I’m going to watch the track but I’m not riding in this event.

I have got to come ride COTA someday. Great content as always, come ride in Northern California with us sometime
Would love to!

*very good video man*
gotta know where you got those gloves! good lord they are beautiful!
Five RFX1 Replica, motorcycle closeouts have them for under $100 🤙
Ayeee i made it on Cuban’s vid 🤝🏼
My buddy and i were the ones with the Dainese Canopy
What a awesome breakdown of what riders can look forward to their first track day 👊🏼
Pro set-up! Very nice.
The ignition situation has happened to me as well, I took off the ignition lubed everything up and it has been all good thus far.
Great video as always Mr. Cuban !
That's on the long list of things to do this week. 🤙
Looks life fun 🎉
I had my first track day experience with Ridesmart back in August 14, 2022.
I need to do more before I get too old.
August gets so hot 🥵 gotta prepare for that heat, it's quite a challenge
@@CubanRider Agreed!
I wore my perforated Astars suit and a sweat wicking undersuit to help.
I also stayed hydrated as much as possible.
That was a good video!
Like to do the bicycle night there too someday!
I've done it, really cool. Really puts into perspective the scale of things.
Thank you for this..I am in Houston and am interested. May I ask what a track day costs per day?
For COTA $500 a day. Other locations are cheaper, closer to $200 per day.
How much for a track day at COTA and how much extra is it for that juicy garage set up?
$550 per day for the school and an extra $100 per day for one small garage spot.
Better than Disneyland. 🤘👍
Disneyland for grown ups

what pressure and what tyres do you use?
Tire pressures are highly dependent on a few factors, in my case the slicks were running 23 psi rear, 32.5 psi front hot temperatures.
@@CubanRider and the tyres are you use continental?
@@huntingwheels7374 this time around, yes. Contitrack medium.
@@CubanRider how many trackdays you can do with rear tyre contitrack medium?
@@huntingwheels7374 depends on pace of course. At my pace, I'd say easily 3 full days, the tire still looks great after two days of abuse.
Can’t wait for COTA next Month.
Inspection gentleman wearing slippers !
so was I, all day long :)
Is there a link to their track days?
Absolutely. Here's the calendar of events: www.ridesmart.info/index.php?page=calendar
What brand is your toy hauler?
It's an Ibex 19 QTH.
Stretching at the meeting? Is that really necessary (to start already there) ?
That room is the best to stretch, carpeted and with nice AC, plus you have to be there anyways. I used to do some static stretching during the riders meeting, but these days I do some squats to get the blood pumping and I feel good on track.
3:16 i know zx10mezz and s1krafas bike when i see them
What it cost at Cota? It was about 550$ for 2 days with camping at road america
Daryl it's $500... per day. It's a very expensive track no doubt, but oh so good!
Do they sell fuel at the track too?
They do, they have a Valero pump. A bit more expensive than 5 minutes away, but it is convenient to not have to leave the track.
greez from germany

I’ve have completed track days in many countries, USA is far to expensive and you get little for it.
u seem pretty good why dont you ride a super sport?
boring street where the fun is at
