I have been researching for something meaningful for a long time on the topic of 'Valuation' and your insights have given me a good perspective - Thank you Aswath
I remember when I first watched this - I had no idea who Aswath was and was like 'who is this kid giving this lecture?' lol. I'm glad I stuck around and looked deeper.
Found a fucking gem 5 years late lol insane knowledge here for those new and even those who love refreshers or interested in other ways to view financial reports... very intelligent individual
Hhaha I'm usually very put off by terrible looking slides. Ugh dark blue background with cyan tables, ewwww. BUT, this was so structured, insightful and informative. It really challenged my inner judgmental diva hehe. I'm still on my journey of learning but it blows my mind that this was uploaded 9 years ago with only around 100K views. Prof Ashwath, you are undervalued :')
Thanks Professor for the highly instructive video. Quick question, now a days most companies give RSUs and not options, however, RSUs are like options. So should we still use the "Option value" sheet to compute value of all unvested RSUs? Thanks!
I recreated this model for 2018 and the value I got for the firm is almost half of what PG is trading currently. Am I doing something incorrectly? The FCFF numbers look super low as compared to a traditional method of calculating FCFF.
If your valuing a company, sometimes the company's fundamentals change and so the value of the firm changes along with it making the company you are trying to value appear overvalued (in this case) or undervalued or perhaps fairly valued.
could you please make another one of these. i am attempting to do a valuation of a business for practice, and i am getting confused reading the financial statement. as some of the 2012 items in the balance sheet are slightly different from the 2016 balance sheet statement. what do we do when the statements differ from previous years? thank you!
Hello Aswath, Not sure if I did something wrong, but I'm not getting anything when i click on the P&G Spreadsheet link ... would love to see it so I can I can keep up with your presentation. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
can we take lease commitment for current year (2012) from previous years 10k ? in which it has to be mentioned under lease commitment for next year tab :)
Professor, I need your help in building a valuation framework that we can apply to the startup eco-system here in the Caribbean. Professor, Tried but I cant download the spreadsheet?
Were you able to download it ?
Have you ever felt printing out 10k's make it easier to read?
I actually agree. Sometimes it's better to hold a hard copy in your hand. You can make all the notes you want and probably retain the text better.
Epic video bro
also, do you have a blank excel template you could share?
