Don't know if you guys found out but the symbol that appears on Orange Piccolo is supposed to be the tree type that was on Namek. It represents his roots pretty well id say.

Gamma 2 was a real one. His death, just like 16's, was tragic 😢.
I got my brother into Dragon Ball by introducing him to Gamma 2 cus I knew he was the type of character he would really like... didn't mention the fact that he died until he watched the movie himself and that was an experience.

Bruh the things in this movie I vibed with.
1. I told a girl I used to work with to do squats instead of sacrificing her kids livelihood for a BBL and she said "I ain't doin' that". Props to Piccolo.
2. Beerus understands a green little baddie when he sees it. 🟢✌️
3. Gohan and Piccolo gets the spotlight and the comedy was on point.
I hope y'all noticed that Dr. Gero's son resembled Android 16.
6:38 The dub treats Brief(s) as Bulma and her family's last name due her dad being named "Dr. Brief", but in Japanese, no one besides Goku's family, the Son family, has a family name. So in the original version of the show, "Brief" is just her dad's name, not his last name, but the dub treats it as a last name, creating "Bulma Brief(s)" from it.
It does this with other characters too. Take Mr. Satan, for example. In Japanese, "Mr. Satan" is just a stage name (with Toriyama saying in an interview that if he were to give him a real name it'd be "Mark"). When DBZ and the video games were coming to the west, they didn't want to call a character "Mr. Satan" and have parents complain about it, so they renamed him "Hercule". When the uncut dub came out, they decided to combine his censored and uncensored names, creating "Hercule Satan". They probably did this so kids who were used to hearing him be called "Hercule" on TV wouldn't be confused about him being called something entirely different on their DVDs. It was done as a way to ease them into "Mr. Satan".
The side-effect of this is that the dub now gave him a first name, "Hercule", and turned his title, "Mr. Satan", into a proper name (like how you'd call someone "Mr. Smith"). You'll notice in the dub of DBZ that some characters also called Videl "Videl Satan" as a result.
TL;DR: Bulma's last name is only "Brief" in the dub.
Love to see other fans spreading that good and true information. We've come so far.
People treat this like it's some big thing but it's not. The Japanese version doesn't say anything one way or the other, leaving it entirely possible and easy to ASSUME her last name is Briefs. People keep treating the Japanese version saying nothing one way or the other as a "definitive no" and that's not how logic works. The fact that it doesn't say anything one way or the other just means they don't say anything one way or the other. It's assumed. That's all it is. It's assumed simply because it makes sense. That's all.
@the-NightStar congrats on saying a whole lot of nothing. A lot of people naturally assume "Brief" is the last name because that's what we're used to. But like op said, we're told that very few characters in the Dragon Ball world have surnames. Videl even tells us that in the Boo arc. In Super Bulma is referred to as "Dr. Bulma" on a couple of occasions and not "Dr. Brief". In Toriyama's other works like Dr. Slump, most if not all characters have surnames in that. So if he wanted Bulma or anyone else to have one, he would have given them one. So what is logical is taking all that into account and accepting that her father's name is just "Brief" instead of trying to argue over semantics
Also, to add to this, I do believe VIdel mentions at one point that surnames in DB are rather rare, which is why she had already suspected Gohan was Goku's son.
@@the-NightStar I mean, it's explicitly stated in the original version, so it's not really an assumption. Like the other poster said, they don't call her "Dr. Briefs" for example, they call her "Dr. Bulma". Last names aren't really a thing. That said, I still use "Bulma Briefs", "Hercule Satan" and "Tien Shinhan", as does the dub. There's nothing wrong with them or using them, but if we're talking about the original version of the show, then like I said, last names aren't a thing.

@@ZacharyHawkshawno I’m pretty certain OP is spot on… Gohans power up altered the weather (aka the clouds). Like even if it’s artificial (not _simulated_ but artificial) rain that was created by RR for dramatic effect, Gohans lower up could still drive away those artificially made clouds.
Also Bulma is literally going to start the Dark Dragon Ball arc on her own with all those selfish wishes🤦🏾🤣😂🤣 big reason why they can make “SOME” GT arcs canon but better.
Fun fact, they (including Toriyama) forgot that Goten and Trunks should have already been aged up by the events ongoing in Super before the Tournament of Power. Technically they were definitely not supposed to be that small (they looked even younger than buu arc) and they used this movie time jump as an opportunity to fix that lmao... Trunks hair color mismatch also suffers a similar fate lol
Toriyamas original design for the Saiyan's was white hair with red eyes. It wasn't the blonde hair with the green or teal eyes. I'm glad Gohan got this form cause it's the strongest form so far but I wish they would cut down the hair size a bit.
Also a funny thing, in the manga after this movie, Vegeta keeps rubbing it in Goku's face that he beat him lol

Manga retconned it a bit. But the truth is Goku is ass at meditation. He struggled with Popo and he struggled on Yardrat, and when he tried to meditate again against Gas he failed and had to use True Omen.

Thanks for knowing children can forget something they might of been able to do as babies. So many people get hung up on pan flying.
Unfortunately that’s not the reason for the inconsitency. It’s because ”canonically” Pan was supposed to learn flying in this movie, but Toei already made her fly during their filler episode, which was not part of Toriyama’s story or vision.
Just one more example of the mess of a production whole Super is, with the three separate continueties (manga, anime, movie) + the true canon of Toriyama’s story notes.

And with Toriyama's unfortunate passing, what's 'true' canon and what isn't is now a moot point tbh, because we no longer have the OG creator's input. We just have DB now, and have to decide for ourselves what's 'true' or not - we can't limit ourselves to only what Toriyama wrote.

Possible spoiler alert. The gammas are supposed to be equal to current Goku and Vegeta UA-cam dragon Ball super superhero taking place after the moro arc which places the gammas power level around the level of perfected ultra instinct Goku and ultra ego Vegeta. If you don't believe that the gammas power level is at least super Saiyan blue kaioken x20 Goku and super Saiyan blue evolution Vegeta who themselves are more powerful than ultra instinct Goku during the tournament of power. So orange piccolo was able to one shot gamma 2 means he could also one shot Jiren at his max power. Cell max is at least as powerful as broly when he went into his legendary form which doesn't account for how powerful broly is now after training with Goku on Lord beerus planet.
@@nvp8191 I understand the urge to compare but you can't really scale the anime to the manga and vice versa. I don't have a problem with your conclusion overall but you can't really include the Morro arc until it's in the anime. Mainly just because how drastically different the scaling was in the tournament of power in the Manga versus the anime. There's no telling how different the Morro arc in the anime might be.
They are obviously not UI or UE Goku&Vegeta level. Otherwise Gohan and Piccolo would have been one shotted, but they were not. It’s just one of those bloated statements that the feats don’t back up.
@@grydon6422 Given the recent events of the manga, I'd consider Orange Piccolo to probably be closer to Blue Evolution considering Gohan Beast is clearly much stronger than OP. That should mean the Gammas are probably like SSB level max.

Asspull form
It gets confirmed in some recent chapters but beast is stronger than mastered ui, and that its gohan towing the line between losing himself in his rage and honing it. back in super when gohan and goku 1v1 he talks about a "new sayian form, one i'll find in my own way" so its more like his ss blue. Its his mystic forms ki with his ss ki merged to make a new form. Like ssblue is sayian god ki plus super sayian ki. And rose is supreme kai ki plus super sayian

Another thing I wanna add is that this movie kind of made me appreciate the Shadow Dragon saga in GT a bit more, despite the fact that it has its flaws. The reason why I say this is because we definitely really look at Bulma in a completely different light even more. She’s really the main reason why shit really hit the fan in GT.
Especially if you take into account with all of the dumb ass wishes she keeps making with the dragon balls. I love how Piccolo told her off and was like: “How about you go to the gym and work out like everyone else?!” I really don’t blame him for that at all lol.

Every new Dragon Ball movie has at least one asspull transformation. I've come to accept that by now, and as long as the movie entertains me, I'm good.
2nd biggest. After Frieza's '4 months of training.'

@@FoxyBoy-mz2ysit absolutely counts, I can forgive it as frieza was one the strongest in the galaxy and he was just born that way and never trained but only 4 months to go basically still namek saga to at most being android 19 level if being very generous in hell, so only,y 4 months is complete bullshit asspull as they never even used the fact or mention he could have used his mind as he did later in the series to make the transformation or understanding and pulling his power out and in real world used few years to put it into action could made it so much better. Not to mention they should have kept it to just super saiyan god instead of pulling blue out so early.

That’s the Beast Form Gohan literally the Beast within and the evolution of Ultimate his Human form.
I know that there was quite the mixed reaction with this one and I can kind of see why that might be the case. With that being said, Super Hero is still a very solid and entertaining film.
At first, I wasn’t sure how I would had felt about the animation but once I saw it, I really liked it and it grew on me afterwards. I kind of wanna see more of this style. One of the things I liked most about the movie was that for ONCE, the story didn’t revolve around Goku and Vegeta. For once, we got to see the side characters getting some love and attention this time. Particularly with Piccolo, Gohan and Pan. It was also nice seeing the Red Ribbon Army kind of being up to no good again after all these years. With Gamma 1 and 2, I found them rather interesting. They’re not the villains here at all. They had what they thought was good intentions but they were in fact, used and manipulated. Same with Dr. Hedo and I liked that they got a good ending.
My only real complaint was Cell Max. He looks cool and all that but I really disliked that they rushed him as a character and I also kind of disliked how they made him very primitive.
That guy had a hole in the roof of his car so his hair could fit of course his going to shoot a child 😂

Gamma 1 and 2 have been created by Edo taking great saiyaman 1 and 2 as example, when he spoke about old fashionable heroes he was refering to gohan and videl and in fact Gamma 1 and 2 other then being named 1 and 2 copy also the justice speech of great saiyamans and they got even great saiyaman 1 and 2 moves, when Gamma 2 do the kick that's the kick of justice by great saiyaman 1 and 2, in fact Edo is 24 in this movie so mean that when gohan and videl was great saiyaman he was a barely a kid and this is why he say old heroes, i guess he use to heard about them and watch them on TV and became a fan, also the design of the Gammas are basically great saiyaman 1 and 2

Definitely my favorite dragon ball movie.
Ngl the transformation is an ass pull, NO, no training in the background blah bullshit explanation justifies it, the best part of the movie is the Special Beam Canon
In Super, anime and manga, he did say he wanted to evolve differently than the current forms
So yeah, within the movie it is, but outside that it's not particularly (at least, any more than a number of the other transformations we've gotten over the franchise)
My pros and cons with SH Gohan:
Pros;
-We now know what his studies are.
-He is engrossed with his work. So screw the “quiet desperation” headcanon.
-In peace time, he not only stayed in good shape but learned a technique. This puts him above Buu and RoF.
- Despite rennacting Cell Games, Gohan was able to realize when to stop the fight & finish it; the lesson from his ToP training still relevant.
Cons:
- Did Beast really have to be a Cell Games 2.0. Couldn’t Gohan get a new form without anger?
- Not liking the implication that he’s neglecting Pan here, considering how Super. characterized Gohan as a more devoted parent. I’d like to consider this a temporary problem forever resolved.
- Not sure what to make of Gohan showing his devotion to Pan via anger. I thought his calmer but still concerned parentry in the Saiyaman mini arc was a breath of fresh air (can’t there be a better/different way to show love aside from getting angry?) But no, it’s back to the well again.
This movie was just oh shoot! We forgot about Piccolo and Gohan. Let's give them some power boost. Piccolo and Goahn didn' t need to train at all to gain their new powers.
Gohan for sure but say piccolo is fine he trains basically 24/7 one the strongest nemakians in their universes history I can say that with possibly god ki being introduced with training of goku and vegeta I can say it makes sense for piccolo, gohan tho they just did very dirty

Gohans new form is also called Beast, it’s an evolution of his Ultimate/Mystic form. Kinda like how Broly gets stronger as a fight goes on Gohan gets stronger with rage boosts. Also it’s confirmed that Gohans new transformation makes him stronger than Goku And Vegeta.
