2012 Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide With Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 Into 2 Pipes..... Sick!

- This is my new 2012 Street Glide that I have just completed Phase 1 on of the accessorizing I am planning to do to the bike, including the Vance & Hines Big Radius 2-Into-2 exhaust, and the Kuryakin High Five Mach II High Flow Air Cleaner.. Next up will be the HD Chrome Agitator Wheels and Chrome Brake Discs, the Vivid Black painted inner fairing, and many more chrome accessories for the engine. I am planning on a cam install in the fall also.
Stay tuned in a few days or so for a vid of the bike on the road with the Vance & Hines Exhaust.
Do you have part # on the Vince and Hines exhaust? The ones I'm looking at are different from yours. Thanks
Do I need to put a fuel pack on my 2001 softtail deuce if I put these v&h big radius on it?
Everyone has their opinion. Im just not a fan of chrome. I like things that are different. When I do a street glide Im want the Matte White and black out all the chrome.
I have one video of my current bike. If you check my vids, my current bike is the Buell. Just an Idle clip with Jardine Exhaust. Ive done bikes and cars. Im thinking about going back to a car now. C6 Z06.
Hi Ray, What happened to the Super Glide man. I used your clips here to help customise my Super Glide. You have this bike looking real sweet but. I see you do a bit of touring and this bike would give you the little extra comforts the Super Glide misses out on when touring. I have a clip on windshield and that was a god send when I rode from Sydney to Perth in Australia last year. Best ride I have ever done and the best bike I have ever ridden.Love what you do to your bikes. Regards, John
Hey Jim- Exhaust, Air Cleaner, Foot Controls, Floorboards and Passenger Pegs, Gearshift Linkage Arm, Derby and Timer Covers. The rest was split between my dealer, who gave me a sizable gift card with the purchase of the bike, and my Independant shop, M-N-M Cycles of Tinley Park, IL. It is a fantastic shop, and Dean is very fair with the discounts for parts, and a fair labor price.
We do not have a helmet law. I occasionally wear one, a shorty helmet that does not cover my ears. The pipes leave the sound of the exhaust pretty much behind you at cruising speed. I can easily hear the music at 70+ mph. I AM going to install much higher quality speakers and an amp, I wear earplugs quite often, and you have to crank up the factory speakers to a level where there is a lot of breaking up of the music. I find too that the CD player is much louder and clearer than the radio.
Hard question! The Super Glide, to me, is more a "Biker's Bike"- Lean and Mean, no extras, very cool to ride and look at. It is just as comfortable on long trips as far as the seating and position of your feet. Of course, it provides no wind or road dirt and insect protection, but you could add a removable windshield. The Street Glide has the hard bags, an immeasurable convenience on the road. It also has the CD player, but I only use that maybe 10% of the time. The Super Glide is my fave.
By far one of the most beautiful Street Glides I have ever seen!! Absolutely incredible!!
Nice Bike, I have a 2012 Big Blue Pearl, with LED kit and just ordered Vance and Hines Big Shots. My question for you is do you have Red LED Bulbs in back, or how did you do the brake/turn lenses in smoke. I did my fronts, but can't find anything for rear.

With the pipes did you install any type of Controll Moduel -- If not how are the piped performing, is there any sounds like in the old carb models. Just bought a 2013 and the exhaust has got to do
After watching this video, I ordered the same exact set of pipes for my 2012. Sounds AWESOME. Thanks for the "kick in the rear" I needed to take off the SHIT sounding stock exhaust.

Starting to want a Street Glide...but that would require i trade in my 11 FXDWG :( I know id get my smoking hot wife on it more though

Wow! Those two machines are beautiful. Easy on building up too much power. Stock cylinders aren't known for their strength. My brothers rear cracked.

That is the Harley "Street Stalker" fender. Painted by the factory to match the Vivid Black of the bike.
I am looking at the Big City Thunder Monster baffles, in both regular and QQ style. When I pick and get them installed, I'm going to do a vid of the bike on the road.
That would be a good reason!!!!!
I am finding, on a daily basis, that I really use the hard bags all the time. Even if it is to hold the chaps and the heavy gloves later in the day when it warms up, or, really, the best thing is they hold beer much more safely than strapping to the passenger seat!

I have been thinking about the extended bags..... I am trying to find a Street Glide with them that I can look at up close.
I also am toying with the idea of chroming the swing arm since it is quite visible now, and having the rear brake rotor polished.

I found the horn cover on e-bay. I think I just typed in "Harley Horn Covers", and like 100+ came up. I just kept scrolling through until I found this one.
The auxiliary light kit is straight out of the Harley parts and accessories catalog.

I love the aesthetic of old video cameras! Looking at getting this exhaust for my 2009 Electraglide :)
I DID ride yesterday, the 4th, took a couple hour ride up and down Kankakee River State Park. It was perfect, no traffic, I think everyone was home grilling or hanging out.
I get "too much chrome" comments sometimes. I do have friends who have basically the entire bike chromed, including frame and front fender. That is too much for me.

Thank You for the compliment! The smoked lenses came with amber bulbs for both the front and rear of the bike. I don't have the catalog with me, but I'm almost certain the lenses are the same for the front and rear.

Thank You Austin for the complement! My bike was $20,559.00 out the door, that is with no ABS and no security.
Right now I estimate it's got about $9,000.00 in accessories. There is about another $5,000.00 in further parts and chroming, and then the custom paint!
I do it in stages when I save up the cash. I just finished phase 6 which was the painted inner fairing, chrome front brake calipers, stainless braided control and brake lines, and a couple other doo-dads.

That's a coincidence, the finner airing is off right now getting the mirror holes plugged, and painted vivid black to match the bike, and I am having the seat done up like the one on the Super Glide over the winter. I also have the Agitator wheels installed, and the chrome front brake calipers and stainless braided brake lines on too. I'm gonna' try to do another vid of the bike on the road in a week or two, so stay tuned.

The Big Radius looks good but , either you need pipes under the saddle bags or you need extended bags

i just bought a new '13 street glide and got it with as little chrome as possible. i do like the chrome on cars, motors, motorcycles, etc... but i have to say i like to spend my time riding, not cleaning.

I just installed the chrome front brake calipers and stainless braided clutch and brake lines, and a couple other doo-dads, along with the painted inner fairing. She is looking pretty good. I hope to finish her and have a very crazy-cool paint job done before the season starts.

Yes, I do have updates! She now has the vivid black painted inner fairing, the chrome front brake calipers, stainless braided brake and clutch lines, the auxiliary running and brake light, the complete chrome starter cover, and the 7 inch Windsplitter windshield. She looks fantastic.
I am also having the swingarm chromed, a chrome RC Components rotor, and polished rear brake disc. I will probably do an update video then.

Ha! Love It MT! I ride it almost every day. Bought it last November, pretty much stored for the winter, took it out in March, it's got 5,000 miles on it now..... Taking a trip leaving next Saturday for CO, UT, WY, ID, MT, ND, SD, MN, and WI for 13 days, then returning to IL.
Only my next door neighbor talks to me, we are the same age (58), the rest of the neighbors all have little kids, and I think all the wives don't like me and the Harley.........

Yes, I added the chrome front fork kit, which included the chrome inner spacers, and the chrome front axle nut covers.
Ya I'm digging the fender, just bought an 13 street glide the other day and have been lookin at exhaust for it, I had aces swoops on my victory and these look similar to them

It only takes me an hour to clean her, I put her up on a Pit Bull lift, it puts everything right at an easy level for cleaning. I clean her maybe once every two weeks depending on the bugs!
I HAVE had a couple black-out bikes too, I guess I'm just back in my chrome mode.

I'm really wanting to buy a street glide and would want some nice pipes on it, but what is it like with the loud pipes and playing your radio? I want good sound from both without interrupting the radio. Nice bike thanks

I find that, at speed, the exhaust noise kind of recedes behind me. I can hear the radio above it. If anything, the wind noise is louder than the exhaust.
As an aside, I just installed the Thunder Monster QQ Baffles, it took the noise down maybe 5% or so, and I am still going to add another baffle to bring it down another notch.
So when u did your pipes and the tuner and air cleaner! What did it do to your warranty?? I really like those pipes I'm thinking about putting them on my 2014 street glide but worried about my warranty! Wondering your input! Thanks!!
I bought the bike in Nov of 2011. Just before the main riding season started in 2012 (like Marchor so), I had the pipes, air cleaner, and tuner installed. HD dealer advised me it would not affect my warranty, and that has been borne out as they have done 3 repairs on the bike, no charge. One of the repairs they did under warranty includes fixing a major problem under the fairing cover that resulted from an Independant service place incorrectly routing wires under the fairing when I had the painted inner fairing installed by them, causing a major short in ignition and starter wiring. My local HD dealer fixed that, including new wiring, under warranty. I consider that pretty good service!
