- The buzz about Mojca Erdmann, young German lyric soprano, will become louder upon the release of her Deutsche Grammophon recording debut. "Mozart's Garden" combines a variety of Mozart's best beloved arias with cannily chosen works by his contemporaries such as J. C. Bach, Holzbauer, and Paisiello.
Mojca Erdmann sheds new light on Mozart's universal genius with a timbre that like light itself, contains every color that exists within it. She makes her music with worthy colleagues: Andrea Marcon and the outstanding period instrumentalists of La Cetra Baroque Orchestra Basle.
The album will be released in April 2011.

Klarheit, Ehrlichkeit und Wärme im Ausdruck, keine wabernde "Standardinterpretation" und darum einmal ganz anders als gewohnt. Wunderbar! Wer musikalische Kommunikation nicht als "bi-direktional" erkennt und hier Emotionen vermisst sollte die Suche danach in sich selbst beginnen.....
Du hast es schön und richtig ausgedrückt. Ich gebe Dir inhaltlich vollkommen Recht.
Meine Ansicht ist weiter unten als Kommentar im Detail zu lesen.
Ich bin kein Musikkenner und meine Freunde, die sich in dieser Hinsicht "Mojca Erdmann" überhaupt nicht einig sind, haben nicht die geringsten Berührungspunkte mit Musik.

Why would she shorten it and lower it down on the scale? She did the same with "Ruhe Sanft." And probably more on this album I don't know about... I love her voice though. :/
I have the CD and all arias are complete (not shorten).

i know this comment is very late (I didn't see it til now,) but thank you for letting me know about her album not having cut off arias or anything like that. Not even "Ach Ich Fuhls," was cut it up like in this video!! I do not understand why they did it here, wasn't this to promote her album?? Anyways, I own the album now and I think it's great!

She sings this aria with technical skill and exactly like a robot. I would give up my first born to have eyelashes like hers.

Good performance technically, but could use more connection, more pathos. Compare Elisabeth Grümmer's version, for example.
Dieses Mädel ist sehr schlecht beraten diese Rolle zu singen. Dringend einen richtig guten Professor aufsuchen, neu ausrichten und noch viel Arbeiten. Dann wird das mit der Stimme vielleicht noch was!

Je suis d’accord avec les commentaires ils ont écrit au phone on se demande s’il fait une pub pour un mannequin ou pour vendre de la musique vocale cette jeune femme est très jolie et peut-être que c’est pas évident quand même d’être filmé et de faire la comédie mais normalement une cantatrice est censé chanter interpréter être comédienne aussi elle est jeune il est vrai et peut-être qu’elle n’a pas assez d’imagination pour un carnet c’était un dramatique ou un tragique donc je ne mettrai pas un point un pouce levé lorsque l’on chante on ne doit pas s’écouter chanter on incarne le personnage on est ce que l’on chante
Et quand on écoute c'est pas avec les yeux, tu ferait peut être mieux d'écrire avec tes yeux aussi ça nous épargnerais.
Da kommt für mich relativ wenig rüber. Ich finde sie emotionslos und wie ein deutsches, abgestandenes Weißbrot. Sie versucht perfekte Töne zu singen, aber vermisst jegliche Ausdruckskraft. Sie hat keinen Kern.
Was soll dieses Video aussagen? Sie ist unbeteiligt, dabei müsste sie als Pamina betroffener, emotionaler sein.
Die Stimme ist ganz hübsch. Aber wenn das eine deutsche Nachwuchssängerin sein soll, dann brauche ich mir über die amerik. und asiatische Konkurrenz keine Sorgen zu machen.
