    Thanks for the wonderful video. I just recently started tying with zonker strips the last couple weeks, it's amazing how cool they look in water. I've been checking out some of your other videos on tying with zonker strips a wealth of information thank you very much

    Nice leech Tim, even better are all the tips and tricks you give. Wrapping the loop around that type of hackle pliers was sweet. Thanks.

    I've been doing something very similar for a while but since I live in salmon land I use a pink cone head and either black or purple bunny hair. It works really well with a shank and stinger hook as well.

    As usual, you put out concise and efficient tying vids! Quick question: do you have a preferred chip clip, or maybe a feature to look for? Thanks!

    Also I wish I could find plunger style hackle pliers I found one used for hooks in a box I bought but I’m nervous to use it as hackle pliers

    Question: if you were to make this in a larger size (size 4) could you still use this technique, or would you recommend just using crosscut rabbit strips and wrapping them that way?

      Repeat the same process with magnum hairline strips. Instead of an 1/8 width it will be 1/4. You’ll get a larger body and tail

    Hi, im 13 and im thinking about getting into fly tying and fly fishing, how much does the equipment and materials cost? And do you need a special pole to fly fish? Or can you just use a normal pole?

    • @jacobstarr9010
      @jacobstarr9010 3 роки тому

      The materials for this fly costs about 25 dollars for everything. As for the fly fishing materials to get started, it can range from a few hundred dollars to 2,000+. I’d recommend visiting a local fly shop and asking them about it.

    What would be the difference between doing it that way and leaving the fur on the hide and just wrapping it forward?

    • @marcod591
      @marcod591 4 роки тому +1

      Cariboo Bound Not to speak for Tim, but it seems like leaving the rabbit hide off the fly might cut back on a little extra weight and make it easier to cast. It also looks like a more even, uniform body of fur done this way, but that may just be the tyer, not the pattern 😉

      @@marcod591 Ya beat me to it Mark. All that extra rabbit hide does is soak up water and make the fly hard to cast.
