- Well folks, this lift took me 9 days to complete and I must say that I do feel more badass when cruising down the road. In theory, I should get more girls at car meets.
Make sure to be extremely careful when installing the new springs. If you don’t feel comfortable using spring compressors, don’t attempt the job.
Love you all and don’t forget to leave a question in the comments; I could talk cars all day. Smooches and I’ll see you later.
GOOD LOOKIN OL" TRUCK THERE ,SIR!
Thanks bodidly bob!
yes totally ugly and worst looking.
Enjoyed your video brother
Thank you bro
Nice job, Joe Dirt
Thanks Timothy
What size bearings did you use?and what year rotor
Whatever the oem rotors and bearings are for an 89 is what I used
Looks badass man!
Thank you brother!
yes look ugly and show ewery peoples "hi, im idiot i lift car what not need lift"
Are you running all oem suspension with that lift? If so, how’s the ride quality and no negative camber? Also if u had the truck aligned, did they mention anything about the camber?
The camber is a fun time to figure out. Rough Country gives you upper balljoint spacers to counteract the camber issue but all they did for me was make my camber angle extremely positive. I'm running no balljoint spacers and stock leaf springs if that's what you mean by oem suspension.
@@chrisdebisonsgarageI did the 4” rc lift on my 98 c1500 ext cab 2WD with 33x12.5/15 I noticed camber right away but never got to it
Sold the truck in July .. what’s the real fix for this on the c1500s
I now have a 99 suburban 2WD out of California really clean . I’m probably gonna 6” lift with coils and spindles .
Did you notice a stiffer ride with the 2” taller coils?
Imho the rc shocks are a gimmick I think they over pitch the sale on them .. as far as quality
My bro, well made video.
Thanks brotherin
Hello friend, I need if you could help me to know how to remove the positive inclination
I still have the same problem! They give you a balljoint spacer to help correct the camber angle but all that did was bend my upper control arms. Currently I’m running no balljoint spacer with a couple degrees of positive camber. It drives great anyways
Where do I get custom upper a arms for the 6"lift fit 2wd 5lug ?
I saw a set on summit racing’s website
Hello will this fit a 92 c3500 2nd ?
I can’t find a 2wd 6” lift for a 98 c1500 someone help me find one please
Will 1.5 spacer give me enough clearance to use stock rims
Yes, that’s exactly what I did with my winter wheels
I just had someone install the same exact lift. The wheels are pointing towards each other and it has a lot of negative camber. What could it be??
Are you sure it’s negative camber? Mine has a lot of positive camber.
Unfortunately since we’re 2WD this is not adjustable. The lift did include upper ball joint spacers which play with the camber but all it did was make the camber more positive.
I think the ultimate fix would be to get adjustable length upper control arms.
@@chrisdebisonsgarage mine has very very negative camber. I think he installed the spacers on the wrong side or something. The angles of the spindle looks very off.
@@Yeahbuddy223 interesting, message me a picture of the suspension on Instagram and I’ll see if I can help you find the issue.
@chrisdebison
I wonder if it would work for a c1500 suburban
As long as you’re 2WD and leaf springs in the back, should be the exact same from 88-98
But the rough country website says it doesn't but the c1500 2wd drive suburbans and the c1500 2wd pick ups are almost the exact same
@@tg2963 May be something as simple as tie rod end positions that make the lift different. See if you can contact rough country or forums may be able to tell you if it will fit.
@@tg29631road has a video of using rough country lift kit for his 95 Suburban
What size lifting blocks did you use?
@@thomashall6470 4 inch! 6 inch lift in the front and 4 inch in the rear
Thank you!!🙏
How bad is the tire ware from the positive Camber?
@@markreagan9564 not too bad man! Just rotate the tires to the back and you should get an easy 50,000kms out of them
How’s the ride quality? Looks really nice man!
It rides great except for the fact that this lift adds unremovable positive camber to the front wheels. It still drives fine but it wears the tires a lot on the outside of the tread
@@chrisdebisonsgarage I took that spacer out where the ball joint goes and replaced the OEM control arms but now I have a rake towards the front
@@southernblood-fw6gy I removed the spacer as well, I have a bit too much positive chamber but it drives great so I don’t care.
@@chrisdebisonsgarage have you changed your control arms uppers ?
@@southernblood-fw6gy no I haven’t, about a week after install I bought brand new OEM upper control arms and they have handled great.
Did you nock out the tabs where the upper control arms bolts to frame?
I’m not sure what tabs you’re talking about my friend
@@chrisdebisonsgarage gm made a perforated line that you can nock out for more alignment adjustment if needed. It's located on the inside of mounting points for upper control arms .air hammer or chisel will work
Good to know bro. I’ll check that out
What are your wheels and the spec on them?
They are 15x8 rims and 35x12.5r15 tires. I can’t tell you the backspacing on the rims, bought them used
U got links for these products...I have an 88 2wd...and have a set of 35s...what's the price for a 6in lift
It’s the 6 inch lift for 88-98 2WD GM trucks by rough country. If you go to their website you will find the kit. It’s about $2000 Canadian
What size wheels
15x8 rims / 35x12.5r15 tires
you have any issue with the front wheels rubbing the calipers on the 15” rim?@@chrisdebisonsgarage do
@@kevinkaylin3197 the stock wheels will rub the front spindles unless you get wheel spacers or new rims.
@@chrisdebisonsgarage thanks so much 👍🏼
Hello friend, I need if you could help me to know how to remove the positive inclination
Rough Country included a ball joint spacer for you to play around with. Although my truck still has a little positive camber
