Garden Grove Police Crackdown on Crosswalk Violators

Garden Grove Police cited drivers who didn't stop for pedestrians. They held an enforcement on a busy crosswalk on Garden Grove Boulevard near Lemonwood in November 2014. The goal is to make the streets in Garden Grove safer, and to educate drivers and pedestrians about awareness. Garden Grove TV3 reporter Audrey Biesk has the details.

In a situation such as a very active crosswalk I would think that the municipality would have a duty of performance to install traffic lights at the walk. It is crazy to expect drivers to look across 5 lanes of traffic and see a pedestrian place a foot in the walk. That pedestrian should have a button to push to activate a light at those very active walks . This is a failure on the part of the municipality.
