Check this out: I also bought myself a $100 Gazebo / Pergola (200cm x 200cm) and placed it in my basement on a noise absorbing rug. I left the outside "walls" off and placed moving blankets on all five sides. Got myself a 10M led strip for the inside and some bass traps in the corners and foam on the inside off the blankets. Super easy set-up for recording with my D18 and singing at the same time straight into my iPhone using the Roland Go Pro mix. Call me cheap but I just love my little "tent" inside my basement. Nice and cozy. Love your channel man...
What many people may not know is how extremely loud a saxophone actually is you said you cannot hear anything outside the booth that is just incredible 😄
As an aspiring voice-over artist, I plan on investing my hard earned dough within the next five months to purchase this vocal booth for my future apartment! 💵💸💰🎙🏚
wouldn't you want to have all the equipment (computer, keyboard, interfaces, etc) on the outside of the booth? And just you the mic and instrument inside? why would you cram all of that inside?
Harliegh Cooper for me personally the work flow is much faster if everything is in the booth. I can also add reverb to my sax mic, though yes you could route that outside the booth. You could not put everything inside a 3x4 booth . I also have security hinges and lock the booth with everything inside when I’m gone as well.
튜브아재 Yes a Mac mini is on my wish list so I can have it externally and run logic. For me heat is also another consideration. The computer does not make as much noise as the ventilation system the booth has.
i had two doors , my main door that goes to the street and another door to the room en between of those two doors is 4x5 ft square .i placed 4 small blankets ,i converted as vocal recording booth,
This helped a lot for my ideas when I move. I think I’d need the reverb too but I’d go nuts always wearing headphones. If you had more space would you think about an amp option for your sound and some speaker option for your accompaniment? Or Is this a horrible idea? My basement space is perfect right now so I don’t want to mess up that feng shui if I ever move back into the big city.
First of all, you are an incredibly talented player! I do voice over and live in an apartment and this sounds like a really great idea since I don't want to disturb my neighbors and have been researching how to better treat my room. Does this have to be constructed in the apartment or can it easily be installed?
It’s tall and wide so it does need assembly in apartment. Each wall as I recall is around 80lb. This both uses wood screws to bolt it together. Some threaded bolts which I think works better for assembly / disassembled.
The Night Library They helped get it in place. I would recommend a second person. They were willing to help with assembly if they deliver it directly to you.
Jessy Baes there are cheaper options like the whisper room. If you play a quieter instrument or sing those could be more than enough. For me I use it at least an hour a day if I come pair that to renting a practice room hourly it would pay off in a year depending on the cost.
your video is really helpful, which gives me a brand new choice to solve the sound problem. I want to know more about the effect. would the sound be heard by roommate if I put the booth in the bedroom and close the door?
How was delivery of the booth? It must have come in several heavy boxes. I live alone and am thinking of getting one, but not sure how I would be able to manage all the boxes and setup. Your improved volume reduction test sounds like it is worth it.
Capture3 Productions it came with a ventilation system. It’s induction based. Basically its a box with a metal ventilation pipe that has to fans(computer fans) on each side. Air flows through the pipe and heat is release through the pipe. It’s all airtight in a wood box.
Ulisses Villegas it makes lighting difficult since it blocks the LEDs. I have since added a base drop to the ceiling and have the LEDs running along the outside.
DeBrudda No not at all. They did not know I played. Note I don’t share walls by the booth only above me. While I played full volume I had a friend stand outside by the wall next to the booth and they couldn’t hear me at all.
Not everyone is Bob Villa, bud. If you have the know-how, the tools, and the resources, that's awesome. The rest of us have to make due with paid solutions.
Jay Wilson it takes literally the most minimum amount of know how to build one of these. Like anyone can learn to do it. Not to mention power tools are cheap. You could literally buy all the materials and tools for less than half the price. The ONLY people who don’t just build their own are either lazy or have the money To waste or both.
I guess whatever you were recording on must have ramped up the sound level, because you can still hear it really clearly with the door closed. I guess probably not a true reflection of how it sounds. Because if it was I would NOT be happy about spending 4K for so little improvement.
I’m not sure what you are talking about because the volume reduction is drastic. I frequent a music shop where they have two “soundproof” booth’s that are way more expensive like 6 times more expensive and you can still hear players clearly but at very low volume.
looks like a coffin. way too small. this joint is built for skinny people lol how is someone supposed to get in there and have enough energy to perform a song?
he became so alive when he started playing, it was like he transformed
Love the dedication you have to make this happen. Stuck around just to enjoy your playing - you sound great!

Absolutely genius can’t wait to own my own house one day these apartments are getting smaller and smaller but more expensive expensive
Good playing :) And, in terms of being a more considerate neighbour, it does the job of reducing the volume.
What many people may not know is how extremely loud a saxophone actually is
you said you cannot hear anything outside the booth
that is just incredible 😄
It would be funnier if you compared the noise level with the booth door open and closed, but still played outside the booth))
fantastic musician. so much good energy.
So much charisma
Sounding good and I dig the set up
Thanks for sharing. Love your playing, you sound amazing.
MegaPraiseHim thank you!
Don’t need a booth, just enjoyed you playing.
Wow! I like how you show just how much can fit in there.
That music was good! I couldn’t help but dance the whole time. The sound quality in the room is REALLY good. Thanks for showing this.

How's the voice over artist doing link to reel
Excellent professional video thanks great set up really helpful I am going to build a sound booth for singing practice
I came here for the booth but ended up just enjoying you play :D
thanks for sharing. your a great sax 🎷 player wow! I'm interested in purchasing one of these to record my songs!
Came here for soundproofing tips, stayed and enjoyed your incredible playing
Ironically, I’d love to live next door and hear u playing
Love the playing bro! Sounds great
Nice demo, thanks for posting!
This is awesome dude! Thanks for the video. Appreciate the depth you went with this and you got some mad skills. Keep up the good work!

He should've just had a screen monitor and a mouse and headphone, mic in there. No computer.... unless that computer doesn't make any noise.

Harliegh Cooper great point
how the hell do you breath tho is all sealed lmao
Every House And Apartment needs these kinds of things in the World
Aww... I love this idea and your music is awesome. Thank you 🙏
Nice chorus man! ❤
That's a badass booth setup
Nice booth ya got there :) Giving me ideas about padding my closet walls and ceiling for singing purposes. Excellent playing too 🎷
Wow! great playing, man!
4K Ouch!
Believe it or not, 4k is on the cheap end for sound isolation booths.
You seem like a cool dude
I seriously thought it was Napoleon Dynamite when the vid first started.
nice music!
Thats awesome. Can i purchase one of these in Australia?
That was bloody great!
That booth looks really neat for a DIY. Congrats my friend and thanks for sharing!
It's not a DIY. He bought it from QC Acoustics. He just had to assemble it.
Nice playing
Good vibe dude, keep it up and cool hints here!
The Vitamin D Extractor. its done.
Very nice job.
i had two doors , my main door that goes to the street and another door to the room en between of those two doors is 4x5 ft square .i placed 4 small blankets ,i converted as vocal recording booth,
Sorry Zach, I meant who's playing and maybe from what recording. Thanks again.
Im playing on the recording. It was done in the booth using IReal backing track app. Thanks
Excellent. One tip for a good sound, please? Thanks.
Some Mass Loaded Vinyl would help reduce the sound leaving the booth tremendously.

@@Zac6361 Thank you for the quick response! Did you do the assembly yourself?
The Night Library They helped get it in place. I would recommend a second person. They were willing to help with assembly if they deliver it directly to you.
Is there anything similar BUT, CHEAPER?? Holy cow.. 4k....
I'm alil stingy with my money, to just be throwing

@@zacharyarnott941 thanks a bunch!!
You can make one yourself for around $800. All it takes is patience, dedication, and hard work.
I really gotta get into making this
your video is really helpful, which gives me a brand new choice to solve the sound problem. I want to know more about the effect. would the sound be heard by roommate if I put the booth in the bedroom and close the door?
Seemed a bit too loud for my Neighbour ! Not that much noise reductions after all!
you my friend are a true genious !
Great music !
Good share. The actual walls without the foam pyramid is 2". Do you know what kind of isolation material is in the wall itself?
Could you please let me know which song are you playing for the demo?
Thanks for the video, you sound great! What's the backing track in the video? Thanks.
IReal app tracks.
Awesome sauce
what’s the dimensions? and did you build or buy it fabricated?
How was delivery of the booth? It must have come in several heavy boxes. I live alone and am thinking of getting one, but not sure how I would be able to manage all the boxes and setup. Your improved volume reduction test sounds like it is worth it.
4:23 ‘ lullaby of Birdland ‘
Great Video
Have you air ventilation or airconditioner for that room?
do you live in a second story apartment?
Did you find it too heavy for your apartment? I'm looking to put a booth in my apartment and want to make sure it isn't too heavy.
What's the name of the Company that build the booth. Couldn't understand in the video. Thanks
Cátia Castro QC Acoustics
I want to know wishper room dimensions ?
For 4k I would want to get at least two guitars and my Marshall amp in it
Good but can still here it outside
How long can you stay inside without Fresh air?
I have ventilation pulling fresh air from outside. I’ll have to make a video on that.
@@zacharyarnott941 Oh!, I didn't see. you did the good job. Making a simulate one, I am thinking about it. Thanks
Thanks ✌🏼also nice work
Nice sound Zach, what's your setup?
dennis here I had an Ambika 8 with royal 3.5. These days my on the Gia II and jazz select 3M.
How many people did it take to assemble it
CurserTV I think 2-3 depending on your strength. One would be tough.
how did you set up the ventilation system?
Capture3 Productions it came with a ventilation system. It’s induction based. Basically its a box with a metal ventilation pipe that has to fans(computer fans) on each side. Air flows through the pipe and heat is release through the pipe. It’s all airtight in a wood box.
how do you breath???
It does have air circulation. Though it does get warm in the summer.
Hey dude, how much does it weigh?
I think 400-500 lb. The walls are 80lb each. The weight is what helps isolate sound.
What camera did you use to record inside the booth?
GoPro I now use a Zoom Q2n since it has a audio input which I can run straight from the soundboard. This way I don't have to sync the audio.
why no foam on the top?
Ulisses Villegas it makes lighting difficult since it blocks the LEDs. I have since added a base drop to the ceiling and have the LEDs running along the outside.
sounds good man, are the neighbors hearing any music at all when playing full volume?
DeBrudda No not at all. They did not know I played. Note I don’t share walls by the booth only above me. While I played full volume I had a friend stand outside by the wall next to the booth and they couldn’t hear me at all.
@@zacharyarnott941 wow incredible!

Noice
I wish people would just build these themselves, it would be so so so so much cheaper.
I can build one but not in my apartment

thats not soundproof that sound treatment lmao
