I have the same issue and I had figured out what the problem was but was wondering if someone else was having the same issue, and you just confirm to me all have to replace this little guy every 200,000 miles!
Great question, a few different things will cause this to happen. Either switch is screwing up, you SAM module is shorting , or your MSF is screwing up. Most likely cause is water got in and corrosion started appearing. Would require deep electrical checks.
I have 2015 cascadia : problem with the righ headlights high beam no power in the wire, try everything not still not working, same thing with the from righ turn signal running ligh is on, turn signal not power. Any idea?. Appreciate you help. Thanks. Mhorys
I would start with checking power at the headlight, than right out of the sam cab. Unfortunately, you’re gonna need schematics for this one though. If the left one works and the right one doesn’t, I will definitely think it’s a wiring issue.
2018 Cascadia 399K mi Wooooow! I can't get my lights to turn OFF!!! Grrr I wish I could just fix it myself! I hate that I gotta get a part!!! Ugh Gonna have to get my nails fixed after this one LOL
Im a leass op at knight my driver side low beam headlight went out and tried 2 new bulbs replaced the fuse and the pigtail connector and still dont work. Any ideas?
Had cascadia, day cab, headlight switch was on but driver side headlight off. Found wire harness, bent which I guessed cause resistance. I toggled with the wires, light came on then off. What would you recommend??
Thanks for watching and reaching out. If you already found the problem I would start right there and replace the pigtail or splice that harness depending where it is.
Hey what about if I drump Star my truck batteries and my headlights come on with out it being turned on . and my hazard button light flashing with everything turned off no dome lights for the bunk only driver seat and passenger seat lights work .oh 2012 Freightliner cascadia dd15 can you help me figure this out
I would say if your unit was jumper started and things are going haywire, I’d first check the fuses to the cab With those blown it will cause those issues. Than I’d start troubleshooting my msf because that would be the next item that would cause that issue.
Good question and man you taking it back quite a few years. All those relays and fuses were located in the main pdm on the ps of the dash. As for relay number or fuse number I’d have to dig up some old schematics.
@@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 I have 2013’s a 2015, and a 2016 and they all seem to be the same as far as having the main Sam under the glove compartment and the two other under the hood on left side. I replaced the multi light switch and I still have no power at the fog lights. I would be happy to know if it is a fuse or a relay. I am baffled and any help at all would be great. This old 2008 is the truck my wife and I drive just because we love but my wife is discouraged that these fog lights aren’t working. About ready to wire them direct on a separate switch however thought I would exhaust all attempts at doing it up right. Thanks for the reply man !
@@onlyranden tell you what. Give me the last 6 of the vin so I can look at the schem and see how it’s wired, but of course that could change if it’s been tampered with before.
@@onlyranden @randy davis This would be much easier with a disgnostic software so you can see if the lamps are being commaned on or not registering the switch. or any code for fogs... If those were good and your comfortable checking wiring than id pull out your sam cab connector 20b and chck pins 8 and 17 which are you fog lamps powers.that would tell me if the issue is inside cab or outside cab to the lamps. In which I would have two different scenarios for diagnosing..So baseically it comes down to finding out ifthe problem is inside cab or outside cab and at the sam cab is where you would get your answer.
Thank you for posting Frieghtliner' s diagram is very vague!!!

And I noticed after I asked the first question that the high beam is also out so I'm thinking sam cab.

Can you tell me where the relay or fuse is located for the fog lights on a 2008 Cascadia ?
