Not impressed with Assos quality now. Used to buy Assos all the time. Bought new shorts and bib shorts last year and both seat area has bobbles/pitted. Not had any other shorts do that. The Lycra doesn’t seem as good a quality as it used to be. I still buy their jerseys and base layers which are fine.
How breathable are these shorts under your belly button? Basically the front and the front part of the chamois. I’m looking for the best ventilation I can get.
Pretty breathable...Hard to say which are the most breathable especially in England when it's not super hot. I can't say much would beat these... the most ventilation would probably be from a indoor turbo short...but sometimes they are almost transparent 😆
I’ve got a pair of these and am extremely disappointed. They chafe on my inner leg no matter how much chamois cream I put down there. Can’t return them because I rode in them. Expensive trial. My favorite bibs were Assos s5. Simple & comfortable. Assos seems to overthink their bibs every time they put a new one out.
Hi Charles. It’s savage they are not working out for you…they’ve been a cracking set for me. Just looked into the returns policy and your right as soon as you’ve tried them on it’s game over…pretty shoddy service that! Seems weird that they’d cause chafing especially if your used to S5s. Maybe a dodgy set? Id email them and explain your situation as they might bend the rules for you especially if they think the garment is faulty. they do offer a free 30 day crash policy… 🤔
@@wiggle I really thought these would be the perfect shorts but you may be right in that I might have a bum pair. I did indeed send them an email explaining my situation. This pair would make it my 7th pair of Assos bibs. Hopefully they’ll do something for me. Thanks for the response.🤙
Great Review! Question, what's a better option these bibs or the RSR race bibs for sitting on a stationary bike (only pedaling I'll get for the next 10 months). Will spend between 1-2 hours 4 times a week in the saddle. Thx.
Thanks Ken! These (the GTO's) are the more plush short and would be most comfortable for time on the turbo. honestly they are expensive...but they are soooo good!

Hi, I got MIlle gravel GTC, same effect! Very disappointing. I can feel edges of thick chamois, and chamois is sewn is too far back.
