This is something I've wanted to see for years...an inside view of the brand I have worn for the past ten years or so! Thanks GCN! Did you know that the products have a guarantee where a damaged item can be sent back to the shop where purchased, then forwarded to Assos where the women we saw in the video will repair the item at no costs and you will have it back a few weeks later. And it's not a marketing ploy, as I had a jersey where there was a slight tear of one of the pockets...and 3 weeks later it was returned to me in perfect order! I believe they also have a policy of making a fixed amount of items each season and once sold that's it...no extra production cycle! All to minimize their carbon footprint! Respect!
I like that service, but wonder if they do the same for clothing messed up through cycling wrecks? I've seen three multi-cyclist wrecks in the last three weeks, and been part of one of them. Because of that, I'm now a fan of inexpensive cycling clothing; it's either going to get stained, get torn from wrecks (I've had two this year, both from other cyclists going down first), get worn through use (though I do have a Pearl Izumi that the bibs' sewing let go on, so that would have been covered with Assos). It seems like I'm going through my road riding clothing faster than I ever did my mountain biking clothing.
Great video! A thorn ripped my brand new MTB jersey a bit on my first ride in Finale Ligure, went in to this place on the way home and they readily just exchanged it to a completely new one. Great stuff, great customer service!
Agreed! We have "Big Horn mountain sheep" in the western U.S. and Alaska that are incredibly fast plus they seem to levitate up the most sheer mountains imaginable. I've spent many days chasing them with camera and binoculars in the San Gabriel Mountains of California. The sight and sound of two large rams crashing heads is never forgotten.
Sheep are surprisingly fast, I've chased them down country lanes. Not really a good idea as they can suddenly decide to go in the opposite direction. At about 20mph as I attempted an overtake I had a sheep skidding around on the tarmac in front of me. Avoided a crash but very nearly ended up lying on the road with a sheep.
My wife uses the Assos skinsuit and the XS just doesnt fit quite snug enough due to her be a very small rider. Will Assos tailor it for her? Or any tips on that? Thanks!!!
the last assos jersey i bought started yellowing for some reason, ive gone through lots of jerseys, incl other assos jerseys, never seen that happen before
I realize that they aren't your sponsors, like Assos but could you do the same at Rapha? Both companies make amazing cycling clothing and I'd like to see the differences in their approach in making cycling clothes.
Seeing how the colours are done is cool I'd never thought it was done like that and interesting story about the assos badge but unfortunately you didn't meet the gorgeous assos model lol oh no you met the man at the end not the girl lol lol
will you guys make the GCN Club a proper representative club where people all over the world like rapha can ride and race in your kit and represent GCN in national and world level racing, just a thought
I'm having trouble finding a good fit jersey, I'm 178 cm tall with 88 cm waist and 119 cm chest, I work out and I've noticed they made cycling gear more suited for anorexic aero cyclist
How a custom Assos skinsuit is made: Step #1 - Have a lot of $$$ or sell a kidney Step #2 - Never wear custom Assos skinsuit in public unless A) Martina Jancikova, B) Hanka Kupfernagel, or C) Mario Cipollini
That first aero bike takes slammed stem to another level
I have to give cred to Si for being a awesome and entertaining presenter!

*_The man, the myth, the legend_*
assos man to wiggins 2018
I would have never recognized him if Si hadn't introduced him, he looks so yoked in the photos.

Debby Janes Yep and I met the very person that does the work! She is a master craftsman that's for sure.

David Hanny yes - any damage. First three months, most likely replaced, after that until two years, most likely repair.
Great video! A thorn ripped my brand new MTB jersey a bit on my first ride in Finale Ligure, went in to this place on the way home and they readily just exchanged it to a completely new one. Great stuff, great customer service!
@@dannyhanny1191 Yup, they just sent me a coupon for the purchase price of my bibs that got a hole from a crash.
These factory tours are definitely one of the coolest things about this channel.
I love the factory is so old-school. Nothing beats Italian craftsmanship with Swiss ingenuity.
You can totally feel Simon geeking out all through out the video. It's amazing.
These how it's made videos are the best videos you guys make. I love them
Wow! Assos Man ! it's like meeting Clark Kent ! Great video as always. Thanks Si !

"Who has ever seen a fast sheep" please someone invite GCN guys to try and catch a sheep....
Jonathan Nofziger I second this notion.

Thos Trefz Haha, I stand corrected! That's genius.

Fascinating process
Meeting Andrea is nice, who we all would like to meet is the Assos lady.
Guys, where is the Assos lady?
yes, this is very important, please.. where is she.. please..
Sadly Assos girl has been dropped. They are using only athletes now.

My favourite part is the history of the people and the company, and how the product is made.
That's a very cool one!
very good Video please more like them..
"A fast sheep"... Hilarious :)
Are these ski suits for the trandum velodrome record thing
Oh four skin suits, I thought you said... never mind.

Assos simply the best, though slightly disappointed we never got to see "The lady". Any chance of a future interview with Tony Myer?

"We have the new face." Is that the face of a pasty Brit about to give himself an aneurysm trying to flex a non-existent sixpack?
What bike is that at 0:30?
Quad Tandem! I had a bad experience on one of those 4 person things you see in Florida once, never again.
Jonathan Zappala bad day?
One of these things www.internationalsurreyco.com/four-wheel-bikes/surrey-cycles/ they are so heavy.
Been wearing Assos for well over 20 years. Wish they would go back to producing bibs with color (non-black). I would like blue and white please.
the last assos jersey i bought started yellowing for some reason, ive gone through lots of jerseys, incl other assos jerseys, never seen that happen before

Whats the music at 30 seconds? I need to know @gcn
Very cool....
Great , I enjoyed that vid. Enjoy my Assos bib shorts too. A winter waterproof leggings next. What do you suggest.
Thank you
Seriously... who else fast forwarded to the 12 minute mark just to see this boy stuff himself into that suit?
What, no broken Italian questions to the workers answered in flawless English?
A factory outlet store that's actually a factory outlet.
Skin suits are tailored. Do pro-teams also have their standard outfit fitted? Or are they "off the rack"?
Why did Assos stop making the legendary and super comfortable Assos T FI.Uno_s5 Bib Shorts???????
So that was the Assos Man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lovely
Assos is so good that their customer service is nonexistent.
holy mole now I understand why cycling kit can be so expensive; that is a lot of work!
Who has ever seen a fast sheep?!!! Holy shit that had me 😂
Any relations to the inventor of the ice rink Zamboni?
A sheep making a short charge was clocked at 38.74 mph. That's no slug! And in a full wool suit!
annette fournier Woah! I stand corrected!
Simon Richardson 😆😆😆
That should speed up the Quick Fire Rounds in Ask GCN.
does this mean GCN is going for the hour record?
Is Simon miming a post espresso Sunday morning wrestle with a broadsheet?

Sheep racing sounds like fun
These are "the knickers"???
"We can't get too close..." ... multiple close-up shots follow.
will you guys make the GCN Club a proper representative club where people all over the world like rapha can ride and race in your kit and represent GCN in national and world level racing, just a thought
So that’s why GCN kit is SO expensive!
That bike looked like a death trap !

"Who has ever seen a fast sheep" Hahahahahahaha
Not sure about sheep but I've seen a fast greyhound on this channel. Some say he munches on chainkeepers for breakfast.
10:05, that screw is well worn. Maybe time to replace it .
Assos chamois is my favourite cream for my assos :D

Every time I hear or see the word skinsuit I hear the words, "It puts the lotion on it's skin..."
