Omsi 2: How to Install Mods *Tutorial* (Buses/Maps/Mods) | + Missing Tiles & Blue Sky *FIX*

- Omsi 2 is well known for the large array of bus and map mods that can be installed, including maps of many real cities and many accurate replications of buses both RHD or LHD. In this Omsi 2 Tutorial I will show you how to install mods or addons into Omsi 2, so you can enhance your Omsi 2 experience. Installing mods for Omsi 2 is quite simple, however the same can not be said about uninstalling them, in fact uninstalling mods fully for Omsi 2 is almost undoable, without wasting lots of time or messing up another addon in the process. Anyway, if you are new to Omsi 2 or having issues installing mods for Omsi 2 whether be it bus, map, sound or human mods the process is the same.
If you are having issues with maps not loading, showing blues sky or with tiles missing, at the end of the video I will show you how to fix those issues and what causes such errors, so fast forward to the end if fixing map errors is the part that you are interested in.
The end of the video also shows you how to use map tools!

Hi, ive tried to download the uk bus packs and some maps from omsiworld and ive done exactly as the tutorial said, ive dragged and dropped them into the omsi directory and it doesnt pop up in the spawn vehicle menu or the map menu, ive tried loading without buses and ive restarted it multiple times, ive also tried deleting the mods and redownloading and it still doesnt work, Can you help please? Would be really appreciated 👍
Map you need to load without buses. Buses name might be different to vehicle folder name. Otherwise double check that it is right directory you are pasting to

You need to also ensure you have installed all tequired dependencies on the map download page

It requires that you have the payware MB O305 Stadtbus addon to work.
I really want to know why but when I put Cotterell in the folder it never shows up in game ive tried everything neither does any other maps ive downloaded

Hi, i am trying to install a mod for berlin x10 and i have done every step but when i try to put the downloaded to my omsi 2 folder it says "access denied" why is that? pls help 😣
That sounds like an admin rights issue, make sure you have admin rights or rights to change files on your PC

My map tools says I have 59 missing objects what so I do after to solve this

By I figured that out but now in my directory it says the buses for London city bus but I can’t find it in the game

Really wish there were a more user friendly method to play this game. A lot of mature people are not tech savvy, and all these tutorials/videos/manuals are not understanding to me .
Unfortunately the game does not have the best interface, it is really old school and the engine it runs on is from 2007

I have no idea how to drag anything...l have OMSi 2....all of the UA-cam videos are nice. No one wants to play any New Flyer Xcelsior version of OMSi 2 simulator game more than me. I'm just baffled that I can't get in touch with steam, best buy Staples and even Microsoft tech supports couldn't figure this game out. Do you know of any other platform than steam ?

Just enter a random number. Some buses reuire rhat to be spawned.

Handy in the sense that it will show you if you are missing something and ??? If objects or splines have foreign to your PC characters. Blue Sky is better, some dependencies like Bad Karlstein are no longer available which makes installing some maps impossible 😔🙄.

Sure I will have it out today or sometime early next week, but to bare in mide is that unfortunately with Omsi 2 it is quite complex to do so. As many maps use the same splines and objects so one needs to be careful not to delete an object or spline used by another map!

BTW, the directories that take up the most space are vehicles and objects in that order, everything else doesn't use a lot of space. So any bueses or vehicles that you don't use or don't work should be deleted to save space.

I would only focus on scenery objects as splines and fonts take up very little space and there is a chance stuff goes wrong there. Take a look at your vehicle folder as that takes up a crazy amount of space. 71gb in my Omsi 2 folder.

Might be due to ai vehicles used as objecys
I checked that and no ai vehicles are in scenery folder or vice versa

@Eaglemaster486 that is the issue. If you look up omsi 2 flora 2 should come up, pretty sure it is used by many UK mals.
I have one question. I got an electric buses charger, and it is still not on my map. I read the stuff that the creator said, and it doesn't say much. Do I have to edit the map and put it there? If yes, how to edit the map?

@HolyRomanEmpireCountryball the editor is not something I am very familiar with. What I would say is look up the Omsi 2 SDK as that has a lot of information as to how to use the editor.

Hello! I downloaded several popular maps that a lot of people downloaded as well as created content of. From WinRar to FileManager I copied the downloaded content to the maps folder of the Omsi 2 root folder and it always ends up showing blue skies, when I check it with the map tools there are hundreds of splines and sceneryobjects are missing every single time when I try different maps. It is pretty sure that I'm doing something wrong in the process of placing the downloaded stuff into the right folder. So after this much suffer I don't know what to do, please help me sir I would really appreciate it! 😞

That is because you have to drag all files in the download not just the map, also most times you will have to download the objects and splines from the scenery page.

You drag them into the omsi 2 folder. So splines will end up in splines folder, objects in objects folder and so on.
Hey brother I have a map I made with a DEM image gimmick and for some reason majority of my maps tiles disappeared and I dont have any missing splines or objects would you know how to fix it?
Do you have map tools or blue sky mod? Alternately what does the logfile say when you load the map
@@TransportEnthusiast I have the map tools but no blue sky mod and it will say that a route has neither a valid track (type 1) nor at least two busstops (type 2) and a tour has to have at least one invalid trip (Nr. 1)! and that it didnt find certain texture file bmps
Ah okay, so that is a font issue. Maybe try reinstalling the fonts for the map.

So the objects should be listed on the map download page, as otherwise fairly difficult to find them as well people would not have the link to them. You can see what objects you are missing using Maptools or Blue-sky, there are many other tutorial videos cover those, so I would suggest looking at those for more guidance. Unfortunately this is one of the downsides of Omsi 2 that there is no simple one stop shop for maps.

So on the map download page there should be a link to all the required dependencies. If they are not there, then not much can be done unfortunately.
So how do I fix blue sky? I didn't get what you meant when you said change language of your pc.
What addon are we talking about? If the addon is using foreign characters to that of your pc, then changing or adding the language pack to windows 10 of the addon giving you the blue sky should work.

Ah okay, so installing the windows German Language Pack, (not just keyboard) and activating it before launching Omsi 2 should work, apparently you have to restart pc into German is what some say.

I have and it’s not there and only 2 splines are missing but they are crash barrier
All I get is blue sky
Yeah even 1 spline missing will result in blue sky, without the spline the map can't be run.
So I have to get them and is there a way I can quickly find them
