BMtv's Harry Sherrard talks with Gina Campbell (Donald's daughter) and Don Wales (Donald's nephew) about their memories of the great man on his 100th birthday.
My mam went to school with Gina, and remembers meeting Donald, she always speaks of how charismatic he was and just as awe inspiring as the movie stars of the day. I've met Gina a few times now, and she is a truly lovely lady and fascinating to talk to. I myself have been to Malcolm Campbells house and it was amazing to see the wind tunnels and where the famous cars were at home. Both were heroes of mine. Mam is originally from Cumbria but moved to the south when she was very little. I now live back in Cumbria and every time I go to Coniston I sit by the lake and imagine the sound of K7 roaring. So please Bill Smith do the right thing and return K7 to Coniston, it's where it belongs. Skipper and boat should be reunited.
