You're welcome. I'd forgotten how much I liked it! Even my daughter Sian ate it, and she's a very fussy eater! 😂 Thank you for watching 😊

Is your oven a fan oven? Apparently Yorkshire pudding is better in an oven without a fan. The air fryer fan is quite powerful isn't it. They all looked good though.
I had a little giggle when you had your glasses on your head. My dad does that all the time 🤣
You have such a happy nature, and are a pleasure to watch 😊

My oven is a double oven, the top part has a fan, the bottom one doesn't, which is probably why they looked better in the oven as I'd used the bottom one. To be honest I'd never given the fan a thought.
My family always laugh at me for having my glasses on my eyes and head. They're always asking me if I know I've got my other glasses on my head. When I lose them and ask if anyone's seen them they always say "try your head!" 😂
Thank you for your kind words, and for watching 😊

I always make my batter a couple of hours beforehand to.leave it to stand a bit

I'll often make my batter earlier in the day if I'm going to be using it at teatime, especially with pancakes.

As you say Maria all air fryers are different but I use a digital thermometer,I don't cook chicken, meat or fish without checking the temperature to make sure it's cooked, you can check the temp of the meat before it's finished cooking and then you know if you can take it out earlier, sausages only take about 10 minutes in my air fryer,I would have checked it half way at 15 minutes as you would be surprised how much quicker most things cook,my toad in the hole only took 15 minutes,I did the sausages for 4 mins then added the batter and cooked it for another 11 mins and it was perfect, another enjoyable video flower Xx

I'm often caught out by the timing of things. I keep thinking of oven times and forget the air fryer is quicker.
Thank you for watching through my videos. I appreciate your support, thank you 😊

Maria, I am new to this channel and I am wondering if you have tried McCain's Hash Brown's in the Air Fryer.
Being a new gadget or me I thought I would try HBs, but they tasted of fish and I have never cooked fish in the AF......only chips !
Why that horrible fishy taste and smell ? Had to go known so does and doors.
End result ? The rest went straight in the bin !
    Will be back for ideas.
Thanks and regards from Cheshire 🙂

Hello and welcome to our channel. I haven't tried Hash Brown's in my air fryer. Is it the first thing you tried in yours? I'm wondering if it's some sort of manufacturing smell as your air fryer is new. When I first had mine I had a strange smell for the first few occasions, then it disappeared, apparently that was a manufacturing smell according to my manual. Perhaps try running it empty a few times to see of you can 'burn' the smell off. Hopefully it'll sort itself out soon. Thank you for watching 😊

      Hello Maria,
No it isn't the plastic smell that I got rid of after the first week of buying my Air Fryer. I used it for chips and chicken nuggets and no probs at all.
I honestly think it has something to do with McCains. Anyway I shan't be buying any of their products from now on.
      Thanks for quick reply.
      Kind regards from Cheshire 🙂

@@apollonia6656 If it only happens with the mcCain's Hash Brown's it must be something in them, like you say. I agree with you about avoiding them, you can't be sure what they add in.

Hi Maria i think sometimes they don't rise. You're better off with olive oil in the air fryer than vegetable oil. I made one the other week, i have some foil containers but i got the larger square ones, they are reusable. I did mine at 190 degrees for 20-25 mins. I did cook the sausages first and it did rise but the first one i made didn't. You are right and you have to be quick before you lose the heat. The only thing with doing sausages in the air fryer is the skins go tough. I do bacon in the air fryer for 7 minutes turning half way through you can adjust the times depending on how you like your bacon. I do a fry up in the air fryer. Bacon , beans, tomatoes, black pudding mushrooms and an egg. I do John's first then mine. I got some little containers that i put the beans and tomatoes in or you can do fresh tomatoes. You could also do some hash browns or potato croquettes.

I normally use olive oil, but I'd run out and Dean refused to pay £5 for more ... he's so tight! 😂 I've yet to try bacon in mine, I must have a go.

Yes i know its so expensive. I bought some bisto gravy last week, it used to be a pound on offer now its two

I buy the tesco own brand gravy. The vegetable one is nice, but I find the beef one doesn't have much taste to it.

I would try 20 mins and check to see if done but at 190° or so. There was no sizzle. I can’t remember if you pre heated the AF? Look fine but might be why AF ones didn’t rise

    • @therichardsonssimpleliving
      @therichardsonssimpleliving  11 місяців тому

Yes I agree, I need to have a play with times and temperature to see what suits it best. I do preheat the air fryer before I start. I was expecting it to sizzle when I poured the batter in as it always does that with the oven. They tasted really nice though and I'd definitely do them in the air fryer again.

No need to stab sausages. I would cook your sausages at Max Fry at shorter time say for 6 min to get max heat, then add batter and cook AF 180 for 20 mins. I find when using an air fryer the food does not look so appetising but has a better taste, especially if you season it well.

Thank you for the useful tips, and yes I agree with you, the food tastes really nice when it doesn't look as good as the oven versions.
