What is Tank Crew?
A new ground-breaking tank simulator by the team that brought you IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad. Drive some of WWII’s greatest battle tanks in close quarters ground combat during the Battle of Kursk, namely in the Prokhorovka sector. In the largest mechanized battle of all time, you can command your tank crew in both single-player and multiplayer environments and battle the enemy in intense missions and grueling combat. Maneuver your tank to find the enemy’s weak-spot while trying to keep your own tank’s vulnerabilities from being exposed. One carefully placed round is all it takes to decimate your crew and destroy your tank!
Tank Crew contains ten famous tanks and armored vehicles that you can drive, shoot and command in virtual combat alone or with friends. Tank Crew also comes with a map of the Prokhorovka sector of the Kursk Salient.
By night he's a deadly U-Boat captain, by day he's a fighting Soviet tank commander
Haha!
He was also a German jet fighter until it blew up with him in it 😂
my dad was in the angola war and he was fighting T34's as anti tank

Der Richtige Arzt are you trying to say wargaming detail their tanks? If so lmao you’re funny
Dude, this game only has ten tanks modelled, War Thunder has hundreds. You have unrealistic expectations, at least be grateful the aircraft cockpit models are on point.
@@ilovehihats Lol they are not. Seen the bombers? trash cockpits. The least they could do is detailed interior for sim battles.
@@CatsAreAmazing8187 Exteriors are, and way better than WT anyway.
IL2 devs REALLY need to push the advertising of this once it's out. It's more accessible than the flying portion so I think they can sell it well
@@DeDyson I'm seeing that it's £65 at the moment - is that normal? Seems like a lot even if it does seem fun.
@@dreamcrusher112 it should be on sale right now for $52. I think it costs so much because each side gets 5 vehicles compared to the normal 4, so they sold it at the price of the premium versions which are 5 vehicles for each side. On top of that, they did have to essentially develop tanks into a flight sim.
@@sheeplord4976 Thanks for the headsup!

Can you not see me off centering the gun sight?
@@Wolfpack345 twice i think? Then back to center for the rest :p
Edit: just having a giggle, you got your like and sub.
@@crankyboris Haha yeah Looking back at it you are right. Sorry I was grumpy. :P
I was really immersed in the action. The game ended when I thought it was just about half over.
Haha the mission flew by for me as well! It was a blast!
"A salient formed in the winter offensive near Kursk which would later be known as the Kursk Sailent"
Hmm yes, the floor here is made of floor
Yeah sometimes the briefings can be odd. It is probably just a translation thing.
Wolfpack345 yeah, BlackSix, the guy who makes these campaigns, is Russian.
And mines.
Great video! You actually stayed very historical about misidentifying enemy tanks, as that, according to memoirs, was very common thing for soviet tank crews. For example, there are reports about dozens of destroyed Tigers during Battle of Kursk, but most of these "Tigers" were late Pz.4 variants with L/48 gun and armor skirts.
Leifr Ingvarrsson : Every Panzer IV with curved skirting around the turret was a Tiger in WW2. Best armour protection the Panzer IV had, a bit of curved steel sheeting around the turret made the enemy wet their pants!
Actually it was pretty widespread.
There are a lot of claims of destroyed Tiger in the western front too, but most of them were actually panzer 4 with the long 75.
I believe it depends on the fact that all german tanks were square boxes, so especially with poor magnification, it's fairly easy to misidentify the tanks.
What a nice new kind of content!
As a Russian native speaker, I appreciate your usage of Katyusha song's music in the beginning. Here is the translation of the text with my edits, so it's (mostly) meaning correct
1. Apples and pears trees blossomed
Mists floated over the river.
Katyusha went ashore
On a high shore, on the steep one.
2. She went ashore, started the song
About the steppe gray eagle,
About the one she loved
About the one whose letters she kept.
3. Oh, you song, girl’s song,
You fly following the clear sun
And to the fighter on the far border
Say hello from Katyusha.
4. Let him recall about the dear girl,
Let him hear her sing
May he protect the native land,
And Katyusha will save their love.
Let him protect his native land,
And Katyusha will save their love.
5. Apples and pears trees blossomed
Mists floated over the river.
Katyusha went ashore
On a high shore, on the steep one.
This is great! Thank you!!
I learned some Russian and if I ever talk to a woman named Ekaterina, I love to ask her Выходила на берег? They always laugh.
The favourite songs of both German and Russian soldiers were the ones about girls back home. The Nazi and Soviet Propaganda ministries were not happy about that.
Comrade Wolfpack, I am SO pleased to see that your landings have reached acceptable levels, without bouncingness and without panics! Well done comrade!!
Apologies Comrade! The message was from earliers on. What with pandemics and thing! Postals service is not what it could be...
@@TheRaptorXX pandemics?
What are you talking about comrade?
We are going to storm te Reichstag in some hours, we are going to make history!
T-34s rear armor was just as thick as its front to ease production. You should be able to turn around and run away without any reduction in protection.
The angles are not the same, making the front much stronger
You make the best play videos. The little stories you tell before missions really make them so much more enjoyable. Can't wait for the next one.
Wow this is actually badass I never knew how cool IL2 tank crew was.
I love how the menu music is the same as the music from IL-2 1946. A game from 2006/7. Not that I mind. I actually like that song.
LOL yeah! The memories come back now
The intro is like the first scene in Star Wars. Good narration and choice of music.
grass distance needs to be allowed to be increased a lot. Only 300m may be fine for airplanes but it somewhat kills the immersion in the tanks.
Shame they don't model the driver using a sledgehammer to shift into 4th gear
Game would surely be less fun if the first few series of T-34s would die randomly due to the "amazing" quality of their transmissions :D
That was the KV series that had the trans that would hang up and so you need ed to slap it into gear the T-34 was slightly better but wasn't great in longtivity. I think it was something like every 500-600 KM's you needed to replace it.
@@Atesz222 to be fair you could say that of almost any tank at the time. At least the Soviets made spare transmissions for the tanks to carry.
The T34 at this time was frequently pictured travelling with a spare transmission strapped to the engine deck.
@@ChrisS-fh7zt The first series of T-34s were more like 50-70 km. There was a case recorded when a T-34 left the factory, went a whole 13 (!!) kms before the transmission grinded itself down and the tank had to be overhauled. It took about 1.5-2 years to make it acceptable.
Why did they take their time? Because the statistics said a T-34's lifetime was about 50-60 km so in theory it'd be blown up before it needs a new transmission. :D
I'm very familiar with IL-2 but not tank crew. As a heavy duty World of Tanks player I'll have to give this one a try. Entertaining as always, keep up the good work.
Wolfpack: "That was pretty damn close, wasn't it?"
Me, looking at the smoldering corpses of the allied tanks: "You could say that."
I'm loven the tank crew campaign 👍🏾👍🏾. Keep it comin.
Ohhh the nostalgia hit right at the end with the original IL 2 Sturmovik(1946) Soviet theme.
Kharkov where you mention in the start is my home city ))) first "K" is silent also
This is amazing. Am so thankful to be your Patreon! :)
It is so curious to see things from ground level. At 14:56 it becomes scary.
Thanks Kensai! I appreciate your support! Being attack from the air was pretty terrifying . I'm sure it will happen again haha. I am excited to see what this campaign holds in store for us.
Thanks for supporting Wolfpack's channel.
This is fucking amazing. There needs to be more games with this insane attention to detail
This is such an immersive game, and I have never even heard of it until i came across it today on UA-cam. Look forward to seeing more of this.
Another fine series to look forward to!
Just remember all way angle your armour, thick or not , angling is your friend and saviour.
Very well done as always I’m shore that this campaign will be quite the explosive experience 🤣
Haha that is for sure!!!
Il-2 tank crews looks great! Now imagine this with some sort of infantry model. We’d have Steel Fury Kharkov with infantry, tanks AND planes. great video btw Wolf. I was active on your channel a lot but then my UA-cam account got stolen, had to resubscribe.
You mean Steel Fury Kharkov, not Tarkov
@@Juubelimies oh mb fixed it

It’s mad you literally make videos about all the strange and odd vehicles or variants of that I love
Keep up the good work mate love the verity trains planes cars can’t wait to see one on a ship or two
The step a line hss would be a good one for you
Awesome! I was looking forwards to this series, after the Postscriptum tank gameplay I was hoping to see the IL-2 variant too.
I have been planning this one for a while. Glad I could finally get around to it.
For the longest time Ive been hoping someone would make a game like this, where you are in command of a tank in WW2 and your goal is to get you and your crew through the war alive. Something like B-17 the Mighty 8th but with tanks.
There’s quite a few games like this previously though
You are playing as a Soviet, you get a retreating order...and you believe it? I am sure the NKVD will want a friendly chat with you afterwards.
This is summer 1943. The NKVD had lost some of their former influence over the front line Army officers after ‘Stand And Die For Stalin!’ orders had contributed to massive (and often unnecessary) Soviet losses in 1941 and 1942. By 1943, the Red Army had begun to learn to ‘Fight Smarter, Not Harder’.
@@timonsolus you know its a joke, right?
Just let him speak
Tanks are all about keep moving, stop to aim and engage, then immediately moving again. At least in reality, we did it that way.
Yeah I was later ordered to move and fire. Unfortunately I am no good at that haha.
So I see Wolf took all of eight minutes to fall for the trap that so many Soviet tank commanders fell for. A buttoned up tank can see very little, as he points out, which is why German tank commanders would often put themselves at great risk by not doing so, gaining a considerable advantage over their Soviet opponents in the process. According to Otto Carius, around 600 German commanders were killed by snipers during the course of the war and yet they persisted. Unlike their German counterpart, the Soviet commander didn't have the luxury of a cupola and, due to the large turret hatch which opened forward, was even more exposed as he tried to peer around or over the hatch to see forward.
Interestingly, he then falls for the usual drivers trap of, I cant see a damn thing, lets open the hatch. In the winter of 1941 this was often done due to the fact that the vision slit was made of glass and was supposed to have a type of oil applied to it to keep it from frosting over, at which point you couldn't see anything unless you opened the hatch. If you had vision and could afford to keep it closed all you had to worry about was having the vision slit hit by an enemy round or explosive at which point you got a face full of glass.
To move your underlying units you need to use the formation and movement controls, its better to just use formation control as it keeps everyone together.
just finished the Last Chance series, i love these videos
Nicely done. Most enjoyable to view.
Tank crew is awesome. This new campaign is quite good. One thing I really like is that there are so many ways to disable a tank without outright destroying it. A heavy machine gun can ruin your day, you are feeling confident in your tiger? Well, a heavy MG team just destroyed your vision blocks and now you have to unbutton to actually see!
The Panther is a great tank sure... Until you get an HE shell on the mantle and it ruins your sights. Or even an SU122 shoots an HE shell that lands next to you and blows your tracks and your side armor off.
It might not have infantry in yet but the heavy weapons already provide some interesting fac simile. Maybe the devs can implement a small vehicle with panzerfausts to make it even more interesting :D
Kind of reminds me of the old Armored Fist games. I loved those.
Organized chaos, need to watch on something bigger than my iPad Pro. Was fantastic on the 52” TV tho...
I love how you play all the campaign.
"I'm going to butcher a lot of Russian towns... names."
Wrong campaign... XD
Cool vid Wolf! Heres hoping for a Ride in the SHerman and Tiger tanks. :)
THAT INTERIOR IS GEORGEOUS
Great. Im looking forward to watching episode 2.
It will be out next week. This week has been super busy. Sorry about the delay!
@@Wolfpack345 Thank you for answering, have great week.
They should just make armored trailers with canons on them and lightly armored trucks can tow them around
I always like to let people know which video of theirs got me to sub. This was the one :) I like the Uboat videos too but this series got me hooked.
Thank you very much! The next episode should be out next week. I was super busy this week so I couldn't get it out :/
@@Wolfpack345 All good brotha! I understand what its like to have a day job and a channel. I appreciate the quality content whenever we can get it :)
For added realism, at the end of the campaign, the NKVD whisks you and your crew away to Siberia with a stop over in Moscow for a show and tell before sentencing... err
Pretty sickkk.. didn't realise it had this mode. Will need to check it out :)
It is awesome!
Imagine if DCS did a module experiment like this for mbts

Cool. I'm late, but now I want to re-watch The White Tiger.
Please keep making this series
I will!
Thanks Wolfpack345!
Wolfpack345 in the Soviet campaign: "I will butcher a lot of Soviet towns' names."
Wolfpack345 in the German campaign: "I will butcher a lot of Soviet towns."
Wow, almost a five minute intro :)
I haven't noticed that before but it looks kinda strange that the Soviets are colored blue on the map
There was a lot to read for this campaign haha.
In Great Battles all friendly's are blue and enemies are red no matter what side you are on.
@@Wolfpack345 Yeah, I figured since it's the standard, but still, marking baddies as Reds would probably get you in labour camp considering the side you were on)
Graviteam Tactics for example handled it differently
You can change it in the settings. I have it where it’s Red is always Soviets or Allies, and blue is always Germany. Just like in Il2 1946!
Soviet industry: how many tanks do you need?
Red Army: Da.
It was pretty cool to see all of those tanks lined up at the start!
Cool. Can't wait for the next upload.
0:11 love this song
Happy to see a new campaign!
Me too! This should be interesting.
I immediantly recognized katyusha in thr beginning
Fuck me, how did I miss this video. Sorry Wolfie. :C
Now that you’ve used *Katyusha*, you’re contractually obligated to use the anime version. It’s basically the same, it’s just sung by anime girls in T-34s and KV-2s.
Haha maybe it will happen!
Hey, you might like the tank sim call steel gear Stalingrad, it’s currently in dev and it’s a first person tank sim

@@Wolfpack345 sounds good..but not if the tank blow up? dead is dead like always in your series?
Love what you're doing with the series. That said you might consider putting some reading into actual armor tactics and gunnery practices.

This looks immersive as hell.
I mean. That is what simulators are for...
I am not a tankologist but I am not sure about the T34 that sat with its rear end exposed to the German tank advance for the first encounter. Personally I might have altered my facing.
Tanks for the video!
That is a good one!!
ah yes. Katyusha playing in the intro
1:31 it looked like the tank driver of the closest tank had a minor stroke. That or he stalled the tank lol
Haha I'll go with he stalled it :p
Reminds me of t 34 vs tiger.
I'm hoping you run into a tiger or a ferdi, that would be funny
Are the tank shells shooting off a few hundred feet in the air at a 45 degree angle realistic? I mean maybe after a ricochet off metal but from the ground?
Ah mate. Im just missing your P51 career. Watching it is more fun than playing :'(
I will have a new IL-2 career up shortly.
Oh im very exicted about it! Is it allied or axis? 🖤👏👏
IL-2 is Soviet attack bomber (plane), this tank in gameplay is t-34
Because the game is IL-2 sturmovik: great battles and the add-on he is playing is Tank Crew: Clash at Prokhorovka.
Nice Work thanks ! :)
I soo want this game now
Give me the hardware & I'll make it my life purpose to ambush Wolfpack 355 during his livestreams. Every hero needs a villain. We all like Wolfpack, I am unlikable by almost any standard.

Hi wolf, great content as always. Can the player also fly on the kursk map? And do you know whether there are dynamic tank campaigns planned or whether pwcg offers them? Thanks!
Where are all the supporting ground units? No aa or infantry in sight. Combined arms you say? The new map looks great btw. Are you operating the clutch yourself? Where are your tank riders?
P.s. have you seen the movie iron fury? Not fury.
t 34 actually is a good tank, I mean they were good against pz3 and pz4, too bad they were ussually very misused. I mean going against an altirelly head on without any infantry is never a good idea, which was the case a lot of the times.
PZ IVs were also useful against T-34s especially later PZ IVs
Don't drive into any trees.
This thing can knock em down and keep on going!
Need ep 2 fassttttt
"Vor-oh-NEZZH"
Hopefully you don't do a Fury and become the only tank left.
Lol that's for sure
I love that you played Katyusha. Some other great songs for the next episodes are "Let's Go" ua-cam.com/video/qndibkxbch8/v-deo.html and "Oh Fields My Fields" ua-cam.com/video/x2YlbiyiuMc/v-deo.html Also how cool is it they used horse hooves in the beginning of the song?
I am trying to find a word to describe them, maybe someone can help me. It is like harrowing or something like that.
Neat! Thanks for this it will definitely be helpful!
How does it work- do you control the gun and the driving of the tank at the same time? Or do you switch between them and whichever one you arent controlling is automated?
You can drive the tank from any position if you want, though in the T-34, if hatches are closed, taking the drivers seat is a good option for visibility (though you can use the Periscopic gunsight if desired as it does rotate). You can also put the driver in "autopilot" where as the tank commander, you loose direct control, but you can order him what to do.
Intro was a bit long imo but get the need to set the scene for the series, looking forward to more chaos though
