I make a veggie/beef/bean chilli ahead of time and freeze it. We let it thaw while driving to the site then throw it on the fire while we set up. I also make banana pancake batter and freeze it in a ziplock bag. It thaws overnight and then we clip the edge of the bag and make pancakes the first morning we are there with easy clean up. I love the pasta salad idea!
I’m so glad I found this! We are tent camping for the first time this weekend (other than I’m our yard). We have four kiddos so this is very helpful. Thank you!
Would love to see more camping videos. Our family plans to start camping this fall when it’s not so hot and I would love to see how you set up camp, organize, cook, etc.
Love, love, love the camping video! And the chocolate rice cakes sound amazing! Thanks for sharing! I would love to see more camping videos in the future.
I’d love to know what the campfire nachos are on your longer menu?? We are Oregonians and camping is a huge part of the culture up here! One things we do is pack our clothes in packing cubes to help keep the tent organized! Thanks for sharing - I always forget about pasta salad and I will make that for our next trip, and definitely try the rice cake smores!
This is the first video I've seen about packing food for a family camping trip that matches our style. Love the breakfast boxes and for some reason, I didn't even think to freeze buns. Thanks!
Wish I could like this twice! Loved this! It's extremely similar to how we prep for camping. We've camped in CO, but our favorite spot is Red River, NM. We went for 3 nights earlier this month and are already planning next year's trip there.
Hey, I'm Chris and I have always wanted to go camping ever since I was about 6 years old. The reason I wanted to go camping was because I remember watching a Season 1 episode of "Barney & Friends" where Barney takes 5 of his friends (Tosha, Min, Kathy, Michael and Luci) camping. I have sat around an open fire many times and even tried a s'more with a Nestle crunch bar, it's really good. What I wanna know is what songs do y'all sing around the campfire? One of my favorite songs to sing around the campfire is called "MMMBop", the smash 1997 hit by Hanson
Yay! I'm watching this video as I'm doing camping laundry. Just got back from 4 days of camping. I love that you meal prep breakfast for on the go. Just did our first camping trip with no water. Wow! That included a lot more to be loaded in the truck.
Very thankful for this video! We have six kids and are playing a camping trip soon. I starved last time we went because I had no idea what to bring or cook! Definitely going to prepare better this time!
Great tips. My kids love going camping at campgrounds that have lakes where they can spend the whole day swimming or floating the river. Those places are usually pretty hot so we go through ice quickly. I started using dry ice to keep our food cold and it will even freeze some of it if we are going on longer trips by adding more dry ice.
Going on our first camping trip tomorrow. I'm making our muffins and hardboiled eggs today! Also ready with my bins packed by category. We're a little family just starting off with only two toddlers so thank you for all your helpful tips for this newbie! Wish us luck 😆
Oh man...I could've used this video last month. 😉 We took a 3-day camping trip with my husband's family (4 adults, 7 kids) and a lot of your tips would've saved me some stress! Great video and I'll be sure to implement these in the fall when we go again. 😁
If we are camping we even pack our clothes in tubs so much easier. We will have to try the rice cake hack. I thought we were creative using frosting instead of a chocolate bar.
Great and helpful video! I am so going to try the chocolate rice cake idea for s'mores! Super silly question... I am a notebook weirdo, where did you get your notebook??
We camp for about 6 days at a time and I normally pack half worth of clothes other than underwear and socks. Kids get dirty 🤷🏻♀️ camping is dirty so if they wear a dirty shirt oh well lol
Great tips! Thank you for sharing. What do you use for a foam/pad/mattress, you mentioned your sleeping bags but do you have a sleeping pad you use underneath?
Hey Ashlee! So do you travel very far to go camping? I know we chatted at the convention but I don't see us getting camper soon so wondering if it is feasible to think about traveling a ways away from our home state and camping! Any ideas? I'd love to see more camping videos!
We tent camp too. Always have and I’m 40+ now. I’m one of the weirdos that is holding out against a camper!! Our absolute favorite place is Hot Springs Resort in Hot Springs NC. Resort makes it sound fancy, haha but it’s not!! The roads aren’t paved, it doesn’t have WiFi (thank God) and it’s very low on rules. I’ve been camping there since I was 17. Another favorite is Roan Mountain State Park. So cool in the summer. So many trails to hike. I love you even more now that I know you are a tent camper. Solidarity sister!! I’m hickory_root_farmstead on Instagram.

It seems to rain a lot in Oregon. Do you camp in the rain also?

Thaaank you. We’re going camping, for the first time since having kids, this weekend!

Keeping stuff in tubs was so something I found so useful when we went this summer!!!
The bisquick shake and pour is the best camping thing ever!!
Do you have a video on what you pack and prepare for Rv camping trip? Love watching your videos!

💚 to know what goes in your pasta salad !
veggies, olives, mozzerella, turkey pepperoni and Italian dressing
Great video! Thanks for the tips and tricks!
What brand are those black and yellow totes? I feel like they would be easier than the giant footlocker I use.
Very thankful for this video! We have six kids and are playing a camping trip soon. I starved last time we went because I had no idea what to bring or cook! Definitely going to prepare better this time!
Great ideas! We really enjoy camping and fishing. We live in the mountains of NC on the boarder of TN, there are lots of great places to camp there!
Suggestions thanks
