    Good job Nick! Glad you got enough power to your garage so you can weld at home! Nice Fab. 👍

    This is exactly what I will be doing with my tractor, and stoked on the review. I do plan on having the “L” shape in the link and think it will make hooking up even easier. Great job!!

    FORD flail mower from the 1960's had the best setup for connecting the lift arms. No need for any modifications. Knife and Fork arrangement, simple

    Another advantage of this system over the one-piece quick hitch is the ease of hooking up the PTO shaft. With the one piece the horizontal top link is in the way of reaching the PTO shaft.

    Great job on the installation and I couldn't agree more on the final thoughts but I'm kind of biased as those come standard with most European and Korean tractors here in Europe.
    One major advantage of these hooks versus the Pats, is that the hooks retain the ball sitting on the socket which offers freedom of movement preventing binding that can happen on the Pats, specially with top and tilt setups. Another advantage is that these things can take a beating. You can push, pull implements to alignment and it won't hurt it whatsoever. There is also rebuild kits if needed.

      Great points!
      I was getting a bit wordy towards the end, and I know people don't like that so much. You're right! There are so many great advantages with these over the others, which is why I decided to go with them. Maybe Its best to show rather than tell? I may do an "abuse'" video in the future.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

      On this video in particular, there is simple no other way around it other than talking. You needed to explain the process, what makes you choose that style, differences, etc and that needs to be done by speaking and you did a great job at it. Yes, could possibly add the fabrication part on a time-lapse or something but it's not always possible to show everything due to various factors.
      One thing about UA-cam, people will always find something to complain regardless if you talk much or too little. Find something that you're happy with and stick with it.
      I'm definitely interested on hearing your opinion of these after some time using it.

    Nice job! I’m glad more folks are giving this style a try. I know I’ll never have another machine without them.
    I see that agristore USA offers a true Cat 1 hook now. That said, the Cat 2 outer Cat 1 inner ball seems to be easy to find (at least in eastern and Midwestern farm stores) because older Ford tractors used a system where the ball was easily changed based on the size of the implement.

    Helpful video. Subscribed 👍🏻Looking to do the same, what type of steel flat stock did you use for the new arms? Hot Roll? Thank you.

    • @TractorsNStuff
      @TractorsNStuff  7 місяців тому +2

      Yep. hot rolled. It was just what the steel store had on hand. Nothing special. Thanks for watching and subbing! I'll get more content out soon... I hope.

    weld some metal flanges to the bottom of the box blade hitch to aid hooking up. like the flanges on the balls.

      @TractorsNStuff  3 роки тому +1

      Thats not a bad idea! I might just do that! I havent actually hooked up to the box blade yet, but I will certainly keep this mod in mind if I ever have trouble. Thank you for the tip!

    One would think LS or somebody could make a hook out of that piece in your right hand at 11:48. just a simple swap from telescoping balls to telescoping hook. to avoid the welding process or bolting like with Pat's easy change system.

      @TractorsNStuff  3 роки тому +1

      I heard that you can find the hooks already made with the telescoping bar. But I have not confirmed it. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    Very thorough review! Thank you! One question, since using these for a year or so now… have you ever wished you had the telescoping capability on the hook ends? Or have your original thoughts held true? Thanks again!

      I do not miss the telescoping links. With this system, they are obsolete. Using these hooks and balls, makes my life so much easier! They are very strong and have held up to my abuse very well. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    I did love the ease of my quick hitch, but all that extra hardware got in my way trying to hook up the pto. I switched to a hook style (I got Pat's because I'm not a welder) and it's so much easier now. I really do like the ones you picked. Pat's has all those bolts and pins that can get in the way with some of my equipment. The ones you have are very smooth and clean. I'd say it's a better choice if you're able to weld or know someone who can.

      A friend of mine has the Pats as well. He actually had me weld it onto his links, which didnt work out so well due to the metal type. But It has prevented them from coming loose, his biggest complaint.

    What was "the spring" used for?

    I have two tractors with Pat's. Never ever come loose due to I replaced nuts with lock nuts right from the start. I can still use my exsteners if i'm in a tight spot. First set I put on was 4 years ago and have never had a problem. Extra washers for all my implements were cheap compared to the extra balls. Your set up looks good but installing Pat's is a lot less work and I bought a pto extension for my tiller due to had shaft cut before I installed Pat's.

      I was sold on the Pats system until I saw these. Pats is an awesome quick hitch, I just figured I'd try something a bit different. Thanks for watching and commenting!
