Yeah I don’t get you guys hate on the landies. You take a thirty year old neglected RRC and try to throw giant tires on it while all your Jeep builds you go out and get new axles engines and top of the line suspension components. It’s weird.
IS THAT A PERENTIE IN THE BACKGROUND... Aussie Aussie Aussie. Hahahaha yanks be drooling over a v8 rangie with a Buick aluminium v8 that they all outlasted 4 years ago. Great episode guys!
As much as I get that the build is in keeping with the vibe of the channel, I’m fairly confident the old girl wouldve done just as well, if not better with a ride height closer to stock, softer springs and simply more aggressive (but stock sized) tyres. Rangies have more than enough clearance and flex without needing such a ridiculous lift/tyre combo.
@@christopherwindsor5165 They looked the same, but in fact almost everything changed. Body panels, dash, chassis, fuel tank. Very few parts remained the same, they just happened to look the same.
A mate of mine and I changed the water pump on a 4.2 liter V8 Range Rover Classic of his once and realised that Land Rover decided to bolt every part of the car to every other part of the car. It wasn't a fun job.
That is a notoriously poor area of the car. Every bolt is a different length as well. It didn’t start like that it just slowly evolved to become like that because they built them for so long. When it comes to range rovers the older the model the easier they are to work on. The carbureted models really are very bullet proof.
@@MK-1010 it’s based on the Buick 215, totally different to the nailhead. However the valve covers where designed in such a way to look like a nailhead, which causes some confusion.
I'll put money on it broke the pin in the diff it's quite a common break and cos you had 35" tyres it's just a case of when the pins break not if they will break if you fit a locker in both axles and with the locking transfer box they do very well you could do with about a 3-4" lift on the RRC either all in the spring with caster correcting arms or split 2" on the springs and 2" body lift and some +5" travel shocks all-round it's a very capable truck then
I have the same model and colour but bobtailed and caged. It brakes silly things like the distributor on one occasion and the rear caliper because the last owner didn't lock tight the bolts. Go's very well up steep stuff with the centre diff locked and it's 3 inch lift.
Used to work at that shop. Wasn’t such an awesome place to work at but I learned that I will never voluntarily own any kind of Land Rover. Mater said it best; if there ain’t no oil under ‘em, ain’t no oil in ‘em. Jut get a Jeep. Or a Chevy. Or Ford. Or Dodge. Or literally ANYTHING else.

Not everyone can brake both axles with just open diffs. Well done!
Well they did use a land rover and 35"s which is kind of cheating.. 😁
(Im a LR owner so Im allowed to make fun of it) 🤫
Done it to my rrc haha. Tore the rear c&p to bits and took a chunk out of the front... haha even had the spider gears spit out the casing 🤣

Next time you're in CO, come wheel with the Misfit off-road crew, and try to keep up with my Kia Sorento!
Let’s go more rovers!
Cool to see you guys in CO!
You know what trail that is that they ran?

Tires... no studs... not Winter tires...
But love the tire and wheel set up

35s on rover diffs? Good luck
Check the Bulk head before spending much time on it
Awesome show!!! where can I find parts for a 2006 jeep grand Cherokee lift kit
Luckily it wasn't raining, because they would be soaked inside too.
om606 swap 😍
My 92 RRC has been more reliable than any of my Jeeps. That's not saying much LOL! Cool card trick!!!
Someone should re-body a Landcruiser with Range Rover. Then you'd have the ultimate package.
Lol I'm building a discovery 2, went nuts with the motor and terrafirma stuff but I'll be dammed if I didn't have to replace everything.
Thread a cable through your bad front axle yoke to lock it up and u can drive on the other side's shaft.
I've had to do what they did to get up the hill a few times on off-road adventures.
There is a saying that goes like this " If you want to go the bush take a Range Rover. If you want to go the bush and come out, take a Land Cruiser"

Ok super edited video for us non paying dirt bags.
if the rear driveshaft was spinning you didnt lock your center differential. however i think you have the borg warner transferbox thats prob it,
Uh, if the rear driveshaft is spinning the transfer case is clearly working, and the rear diff is busted.
at least you had an authentic Britsh car experience when it broke.

that p38 tho
Strange Rover... you need to add the ST...
Need this classic at ttc
Whats that front bar? Plz

Why is this not on the motor trend app anymore?
Land Rovers always break down 😅
Neat rig. Maybe 33s would of been a better idea to avoid breaking axles
Stock diffs will still break on 33s easy enough haha
This is DED, 33's are for Suzuki's ! LOL
and i did not mention i am from australia so i did the whole trip on the wrong side of the road
Whenever I go Wheeling the first thing I do is air down my tires
The thing didn't need that big a tire on it, breaking a fun SUV because dumb is entertainment?
