The Bloom from Jackson Audio is a comprehensive dynamic engine that is designed to give guitarists maximum dynamic tonal control in ways never before possible.
A three-fold device, the Bloom manipulates the dynamics of the instrument by way of precisely tuned compression, equalization, boost and sustain circuits which can be activated separately or in tandem with each other.
VOLUME
Acts as a master volume for the primary compressor section. Changes to the COMP and BLEND knob will typically necessitate a change to the Volume control to keep the overall level the same.
TIP! - When using high levels of compression, keep the VOLUME control at 3:00 or lower to avoid any unwanted clipping in the compressor circuit.
BLEND
Allows you to blend in your clean uncompressed signal with the compressed signal. Full counter clockwise is full compression. Fully clockwise is full clean signal. TIP! Try running your COMP knob full up and use the BLEND control to adjust the intensity of the compression. Doing this will allow the attack of your note to feel normal while adding sustain to the back end of the note.
COMP
Turn clockwise for more compression. Balance this with the BLEND and VOLUME control.
BASS
The 12:00 position is totally flat with +/-12dB boost/cut on either side of center. When the EQ is activated, and this control is turned, you will notice that the EQ led will change color to reflect the balance of the BASS, MIDDLE and TREBLE controls. The BASS control will add/subtract the color RED as it is turned.
MIDDLE
The 12:00 position is totally flat with +/-12dB boost/cut on either side of center. The mid frequency is centered around 660hz. When the EQ is activated, and this control is turned, you will notice that the EQ led will change color to reflect the balance of the BASS, MIDDLE and TREBLE controls. The MIDDLE control will add/subtract the color GREEN as it is turned.
TREBLE
The 12:00 position is totally flat with +/-12dB boost/cut on either side of center. When the EQ is activated, and this control is turned, you will notice that the EQ led will change color to reflect the balance of the BASS, MIDDLE and TREBLE controls. The TREBLE control will add/subtract the color BLUE as it is turned.
BLOOM
Sets the amount of boost when the BLOOM footswitch is engaged. Also is used to set the Bloom fade time when in Program Fade mode. When the Bloom is activated, turning the BLOOM control will change the BLOOM led to indicate the amount of boost present.
COMP FOOTSWITCH
To activate/deactivate the compressor circuit simply press the COMP footswitch. To select a compression preset, press and hold the COMP footswitch for more than 1 second and compression program mode will become active. When in this mode, the COMP led will flash to indicate that you are in program mode. A quick tap on the COMP footswitch will cycle the compression presets and you’ll be able to hear these preset changes as you cycle through them assuming that the compression circuit was active when compression program mode was entered. Once you arrive at a compression preset that you want to use, press and hold the COMP footswitch for more than 1 second and compression program mode will exit.
Note. When compression mode is exited, the selected compression preset is written to the internal EEPROM on the microprocessor and that will become your default compression setting when the compressor is engaged.
BLOOM FOOTSWITCH
To activate the Boost feature of the Bloom simply press the BLOOM footswitch. To activate the Bloom feature (slow fade up to boost level) press and hold the BLOOM footswitch for more than 1 second. The inverse is also true. To fade down from a boost setting, press and hold the BLOOM footswitch for more than 1 second.
(EQ FOOTSWITCH)
To activate the EQ, press and release the COMP and BLOOM footswitches simultaneously.

Thanks again Curtis! Appreciate your dedication and what you have done for the community of guitarist over the years! Great video
thanks man! Much appreciated!
I thoroughly enjoy the Bloom pedal as well, and it's changed the way I play too! It's an amazing compressor and it's taken the place of my Deep Six, Walrus Audio, compressor but that went onto another board of mine because it's a great pedal as well. That said, I love all your videos and keep up the great work, can't wait to see/hear what comes next with the new Bloom pedal leading the way for our next tonal experience of yours!
thanks Thomas! I appreciate the kind words
No worries brother!
Oh my goodness! The compressor I have been waiting for! Wow this thing is sick
YES> 100% agree. its fantastic.
Your clean tone is perfect. Now if only I could sound like that.
ahh Thanks Chris... I appreciate that! and I'm sure you can.
Nice 3 levels of gain staging. Thanks for the demonstration.
No problem!
Best review/demo on this! Been eyeballing it for weeks!
thanks for the kind words.
Curtis Kent annnnnnnd I purchased it 💸💸💸
And this is how a pedal must be reviewed
Great job ! Demo is on point
Thanks for the opportunity! Honoured!
Your clean tone is insane man, great job. How low noise is the pedal with single coils?
Great demo as always Curtis!
Nice review as always. Cant wait for the Jackson Audio Broken Arrow review.
soon! I am just as excited about that demo as well!
Great review , appreciated.
I just wish they offer "lefty" version ,
Meaning comp on the right and bloom on the left.
I you're thinking about the signal chain pretty sure it goes comp into eq into bloom regardless of the order on the pedal
This Video is very helpful! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great demo Curtis!
That’s awesome ! Love your videos bro
thanks for the support my dude!
Could you recommend this or a different compressor for acoustic players?
I have used this compressor on my acoustic for the last 2 years so I highly recommend this one!
do you still use this as your compressor pedal?
yes on my acoustic and electric boards.
I like it, but I think I'll stick with my Voluum.
What mode would be the best for worship music would you say?
I would say purple or blue, you want that slow attack.
Way too complicated for what it is.
then it's not for you. other people like the complicated features
This pedal is actually three pedals in one. Top row is compression, second row is eq and then a boost function. One
row/efx at a time. No need to rush. It really is a great pedal.
Big fan of all kinds of Comps, and this one, with the separate modes, is a doozy.
Because I do use several very different settings, for volume swells, slide, and Country and Byrd's style rhythm , it stands out as great in every setting,- unusual, because most designs are strong in one area only, - or lack character in all .
Honestly could do without the boost and EQ, but hey,- don't HAVE to use that part.
