Staycation in GA | Smithgall Woods | Helen GA

Impromptu staycation in the Smithgall Woods State Park due to Brad messing up his timetable and having 3 rostered days off 🙏🏼
This is going to be an annual holiday for my fly fishing loving husband and I, where we get to immerse Jack in pristine wilderness and experience river wildlife in the North Georgia Mountains.
This was a bucket list location for my Husband Brad who had wanted to stay here since he was younger but didn’t have the means to do so.
3 days away from the farm is relatively easy to achieve, especially with wonderful neighbors who check on the animals just to be safe.

Also, make sure you familiarize yourself with the fishing/park rules before you go, and then go crazy with all of the incredible hikes!
You will feel super secluded yet are only 6 miles away from the iconic Helen, GA, for cute eats and river tubing 🙌🏼
