- The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are finally here I want to do a buyer's guide on both of these phones because while both phones now look the same there are actually still a lot of small differences between these phones that I think a lot of people might overlook like software differences between the 48 megapixel camera systems, USB-C port differences, different designs, and other feature differences you need to know about like which phone actually has the biggest battery inside of it.

Worked hard on this one - there were way more differences than I initially thought. I hope you find it informative and helpful in your purchasing decision!
I do have 1 big question 🙋♀️. Why guys at Apple 🍎, regarding the iPhone Pro Max lineup we always get the lame side of color choices?

No quandary for me. I have big hands and still type with one finger, hunt and peck. Also I buy phones for the cameras which is why I used Samsung Galaxy S series phones since the original Galaxy S thru the S21 Ultra. I bought a 13 Pro Max and after a week of use and watching numerous UA-cam videos to learn how to use it I switched to the iPhone for my daily driver. I'm definitely going to upgrade to the 15 Pro Max! I'm just hoping to get a blue phone. I've always bought black phones and even though I keep it in a case I still want a blue phone for a change. I'm slightly disappointed with the 5x optical zoom instead of 6x but it's not a deal breaker for me. The periscope zoom lens has been available on Samsung Galaxy S series phones for years so I'm definitely excited that it's now available on the 15 Pro Max.

If the base model had pro motion, it would be the perfect buy for ppl who dont care about cameras. It's actually surprising how close pros and nonpros are now.
I'm actually really happy with the base iPhone 15 this year and I think other ppl will like it too 15 pro is too similar now
The 120hz is a deal breaker. Can never go back
I’m really wanting to get 120hz on my next phone but I just think $1900 is just so much for a base pro model it’s hard to look past he regular 15 for value

Man. Where on earth is it $1900? I won’t go back to regular models because of the full 48mp and 120hz. Have you considered 14 pro? Some places, like Swappas, sell them at a fair price.
@@Allbr3x In Australia it is 1850, which Is just too much i think, I was looking at the 14 pro now for when the 15 releases, do you think that the degrading battery issues its been facing is an issue, or should i just get the 15 for longevity as I keep my phones for as long as I can (I've had an XR for 5 years)
As not really a pro user I’m happy to see that the regular models look as almost premium as the pro models. I really like the icy blue one
We just got the icy blue, and it looks more like barely blue. My husband still likes it. I had to get him new chargers and cables, but happy iphone finally can charge with the universal type C, like my Samsung S24. Samsung changed with my S9.

After watching all these fantastic and exciting features in the new iPhone 15 models, my buying decision has been made very simple!! iPhone 13, here I come!
I had a 13 Mini and thought of geting another one instead of 15 pro, but 15 Pro is only 1.5 the price of the 13 Mini
Yeah and when they roll out updates the older phones will lag more and more.
Iphones are pure trash. There still working with horrible MP. 48MP on a 15 is bad. Samsung already on 105MP.
I have the 13 so not upgrading for another 3/4 years

This was the clearest and best organized video I’ve seen about the new phones so far. I haven’t upgraded in over 3 years, so getting the 15 Pro (and I’ll probably sprint for the Max) is a big bump for me. I used to work for Apple, and would get the new phone every year, and would lose myself in the plethora of tech specs and nuances of the devices. You provided plenty of nuance, while never losing sight of the broad strokes that lie at the heart of this exciting decision. Thank you!
So which one did you finally get? 15 pro or pro max?
I think the base iPhones would benefit from variable refresh rate even if it were still capped at 60. Just being able to go between 1 and 60 would make it the undisputed king of battery life

My biggest usages for my iPhone are music and podcasts. This being said, I’m thinking the base 15 is the best bet for me. Thanks man!

The dynamic island on regular models is a nice thing
I got a 12 pro max a few years ago, traded that in and got 1000 dollars credit for it. Just got the 15 pro max for 200 dollars. This is possibly the greatest out of box phone to exist. The features actually make this one feel like a genuine upgrade and worth the price they're asking for finally. I didn't own a 13 and 14 pro model so I wouldn't know if everything is new. But transfer speeds this high, charging is faster, pictures are better, the 120hz screen, little bit more ram to play around with now, this is nice.
Currently have a XR that is still *kind of running!! Always told myself my next upgrade would be when they finally get USB-C. It’s kind of funny hearing people be disappointed with this release because everything on the Pro is better than my phone lol. Waiting a few years was definitely worth the wait. Plus I still have a *kind of working back up phone!
Even I am using iphone XR since launch. works fine, only drawback is battery. Just gives me half day on full charge. Thinking of getting 15 for USB-C and decent battery life.

I have the XS, and usually only upgrade every 5 years. I don't play games on phones and I don't take many photos. I was thinking on upgrading to the 15 Pro just because of the processor and to future proof! But now I'm thinking on the 15 Plus!
The difference between 60Hz and 120 Hz is almost negligible in 15 and 15 Pro, thanks to the iOS design. I went with iPhone 15 hence. Totally satisfied. I am especially happy with the super light weight and battery life of the regular IPhone 15.

But for people like me who has almost every device at 120+ hz display. I cannot for the life of me go back to anything lower than 90hz. The 15 pro was the best bang for your buck IMO and so far, it really has been for me

iPhone 15 and 15 Plus looks way more appealing this year than last. What’s up with these dreadfully boring colors on the Pro’s??? It’s almost like Apple wants us (the consumers) to buy the 15 and not the Pro’s. I guess they figure they’re more likely to sell higher quantities of the “cheaper” iPhone. Apple, please make the Pro color-way more enticing next year for 16 please!
Exactly right! That’s why I got the regular 15. First reason was because I wanted to downsize from a 13 pro max. Too big and heavy but the pink color definitely drew me instantly. Those other colors on the other ones are depressing and droopy looking.
I’m the opposite! I’m mad tjay the base model 15 doesn’t have a neutral color because I do not like a colored phone. It matches less cases and am upset the 15 does not have a white color
The pro is considered the elite, the professional. The colors reflect that. Elite and rainbows don’t go hand in hand.

Great video and very helpful. I'm upgrading from the 11 pro and initially, I bought the 15 promax. After seeing the reviews and hearing about throttling and battery issues, I'm returning it and getting the 15 plus. Also, I really miss the simple toggle button on the side. I think that's a feature that should stay analog.
After seeing the supposed gaming capabilities of the A17 Pro (with hardware ray tracing and stuff alongside the announced AAA game ports), I’m actually more hyped on how the next generation iPad Pros with M3 are gonna perform. They’re probably gonna be absolute monsters.
If Apple bought a big game studio they'd have such a good platform. Could have the same game running on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and think about it Apple could put the A17 Pro in an Apple TV box... a literal gaming console for like $200-$300.

The performance of A16 is already massive, why would someone need/want even more performance in a smartphone? IMO just for marketing the new chip in the iPhone first and then bringing it into the Apple iPad lineup.

So unbelievably helpful! As a recent graduate with an old google pixel 4a, who wants to switch to iPhone, I didn't want to splash out on the pro models yet but nearly everyone tells me only the pro phones are worth it. This reassured me that the iPhone 15 is just fine for me so thanks.

I think for most average users, this doesn’t really matter to us. I’m upgrading from an 8 so any upgrade at this point is an upgrade
I have the iPhone XR, and I’ve been deadset on upgrading to the next iPhone whenever it had USB-C and seeing how the camera features would be on the next pro models. Waiting was worth it, and it seems like I’m leaning towards the 15 Pro Max, even if it’s gonna be an adjustment in terms of phone size compare to my XR.
Same I got the iphone XS but idk if I want the 15 Pro or Pro Max cause idk if its going 2 be too big. What do u think? Also 1200 for a phone is a little much.
@@asura_demon5552 the cost might not be as bad if you’re gonna end up trading it in with your carrier, which I probably plan on doing myself. But I do agree on the size; for all of the features, Im really not sure if the Max’s size can make it worthwhile in my moderate hands.

This was helpful. I am worried about battery life and degradation but I know it's too early to tell. I think I will go for the pro max because of the camera. This'll be a huge jump from the SE I have which is from the 5 or 6 technology. But that darn battery better last the day for the price.

15 plus is what I got. Has the longest lasting battery by far between other models and other 15s

Thx for your review it was very detailed. To most reviewers that say Don’t buy a 15 or 15 Pro they are thinking that we already have the iPhone 14 or Pro. This is stupid as some of us are still rocking an old XR. As some of us choose to save our money for a few years before we run out and buy yet another iPhone… 😜

One thing I’ve haven’t heard mentioned yet is that since the photos will effectively double in resolution (12 to 24) that will give you more room for cropping. So the difference between in the 3x zoom on the Pro vs Pro Max isn’t such a big deal. I rarely use the 3x zoom on my Pro Max anyway but I’m excited about that 5x zoom.

I’m not one of those people who upgrades phones way too often, so when I get one, I like to try to get the one I will be happy with for the longest time. I’m upgrading my XS max this year.. I’ll probably stick to every 5 years or so for replacing. I do wish the pro max came in better colors. I’m a huge pink fan and I’m so tempted to get the plus just for that reason alone, but I’ll probably go for the pro max in white titanium and get a pink cover lol. Super helpful video. Thank you!
With as big a jump as you’re making, you might be just as satisfied with a 14 pro max, with a lower price tag! The 14 pro max is what I have right now. I usually upgrade every year though my cell phone plan, but I don’t really see any benefit yet. Unless you’re really into phone cameras, I don’t see the point in spending more money to get the 15 pro.

I JUST got the regular iPhone 15, and I personally love it. The only issue I have is that it gets slightly warm when I charge it, so I let it charge to 100% before I go to bed and take it off the charger. But other than that it’s a great phone and I recommend getting it if you plan to trade it in, which will end up being cheaper than just buying the phone all by itself. It also all depends on the add-ons you get with it

I came from the 12 pro max , to a 15 plus. It is better quality, view for the screen. I am picture person , so taking it back tomorrow for the 15 pro max .

Upgrading from a 13mini, was also thinking about getting the 15 pro, but instead decided to get the 15 Base with 256gb.
I dont like the action button, would love to get the better Performance but I dont really need it. I wont play AAA titles on there anyways, have an ROG Ally for mobile use.
Also, 15 256gb was way cheaper in my country compared to the 15 Pro 256GB

After a month of using the 15 (256gb version) I gotta say that getting it was the best thing I could have done. 256gb just gives me enough room to install everything that I ever need and also allows me to make lil videos and more pictures than I could ever ask for.
The Mute-Switch is still my fav.
I also really like the mute switch. I think the new action button Is silly. It isn't in a reachable place so I don't see people using it often. Easier to just swipe on the screen. I will be going with the 15 too :)

ive opted for the pro 128gb... theres always the cloud to offload to and it can record to external storage. For me the last iphone i had was iphone 12, i tried the pixel 7pro for the last 12months and have realised the larger phone is not ideal for me but the always is something ive gotten used to as my phone is often charging overnight by my bed. I do enjoy gaming so future proofing for that was a plus. But i must be honest, it was a tough decision between the iphone 15 and 15 pro -- if i werent intending to keep this phone for at least 2 years and werent so bothered about the screen feature, then i would have got the iphone 15. I was able to preorder the pro but there is part of me still thinking to get the regular 15... is that extra £200 really worth it for the screen, the camera, and the build

I got the 15 PM 1tb & Base 15, I love both of them. I run my production with the Promax as the main camera and use the base 15 as a behind the scenes camera, video editor, and distribution tool. I was waiting for a Mini 7 but with that camera Bump & USB C I was sold on the base 15.

I still have it too! Camera no longer works, can’t connect to wifi (been 2 years lol), and the silent on/off button recently broke (my phone is permanently on silent). I’m still deciding to get an iPhone 15 Plus or the Samsung Galaxy 24 Ultra!

My deciding factor will be how much of a difference is the camera really between the 13 promax and 15 Pro Max they add features, but sometimes you cannot even tell a difference.
I would also like more information on the feature, you said where you can record from the phone to an external device to how that works

I have been waiting on the iPhone 15 promax to come out since sometime last year I currently have the s21 ultra but it seems to be lagging in several areas for whatever reason even though I've done the updates? I haven't had an iPhone since the 11 pro Max so I expect to see substantial improvements. The main thing that made me buy an Android was always more zoom and although the 15 promax may not have as much as soon as I had hoped it has enough to make it worth buying. Your video was informative and helped reinforce my decision to purchase the promax. I have already ordered the case and screen protector 0 and charging block and will order the phone Saturday. Seeing the iPhone 15 base model with all the major spec bumps, it’s easily the one to get, without paying for the Pro Models.

I think next year they should release just one iPhone which has almost everything from today's pro models with a 6.3 inch 120hz display and dynamic island and 64mp camera.And price it at $1000 or 1100. I think that would create a huge onboarding of even Android users as well as people upgrading from existing iPhones. Then release 2 models the following year which have significantly more hardware features.
Why would the loose clients and money? There are people that want cheaper models and people that want the expensive ones, this way everyone is happy

Not everyone needs the features others need. I got the pro model last time, and this time I got the base model. Why? Cause I don’t utilize all the features that are offered. I just need a phone that takes great pics, good battery life and has enough memory. I’d rather invest in storage than other features

I’ve got an XR with a mangled lightning port. My first ever cracked screen(this genuinely hurt me.) Lots of purple/dark blue spots on the display. Surprisingly my battery is still going strong.
Been saying for years I’m going to switch once they turned over to USB-C. Glad I waited wish the Pro had that deep green of the 13(?) but I’ll settle for the blue.
same with my 11 right now parts of the screen are blacked out, only top left is cracked have colorful lines going all over battery still working and am still able to use if I know what buttons im pushing
Ok, I'm starting to think that buying the iPhone 15 base model might be the best option right now as the 15 Pro is maybe a little bit experimental (3nm processor, action button, etc). Also as I was thinking of getting the 256 GB upgrade. I kindof do want to get the pro model for the better display, better processor, and whatever else there was but at the same time I could buy the 15 right now and wait for the 17 Pro or something.
I don't get it, if you split the difference in 2 years per month, it's not that much, here the difference between 15 and 15 pro 256 is 270$, that's 11$ per month for 2 years. I won't get rich if I would save them, so I see no point, I will get the best there is since I'll have that phone for 2 years, not for 2 months. For me that is 15 Pro, I don't like Pro Max, too big, I'm used to 13 Mini
@@sawyer303 You make a good point. I do have couple other reasons too for this way of thinking. I use my phone quite much for background sounds and the 15 pro somehow has worse audioplayback time at 75 hours compared to the base 15 at 80 hours, that might not seem like much, but I think I should take that into consideration too.
Doesn’t matter how much the difference is. Carriers will still give pretty much same value for trade in when they throw up deals

For me, the main feature of 14pro - always on display - is not available on iPhone 15 - this is very sad and I think can easily overlooked by the buyers.
Personally I’m not gonna upgrade this year and keep my iPhone 14 Pro. The only thing I really like on the 15 Pro is the action button and type c port but those two things don’t warrant an upgrade to me personally. Good video!

I got the iPhone 15 instead of the pro model just bc I have smaller hands and prefer smaller devices. It’s the exact same as the 14 but much easier to hold onto. I think the speakers sound much better as well. It also has a much smoother keyboard when you type. Idk why. I’m not a tech expert. I do prefer the iPhone 14 colors tho. But the iPhone 15 and 15 pro looks way more professional and aesthetically pleasing. I thought the iPhone 15 blue was white looking, however you can def tell it’s a light blue, almost baby blue but much lighter. Which gives it that more sophisticated look. And again if you’re like me that doesn’t like to use a phone case all the time to show of your phone, the 15 is much easier to hold. I’m not concerned about dropping if. To me it also seems to run much smoother. Now I’ve just had it for 24 hours so maybe I’m being biased since I just bought it. But in my opinion I find it much more user friendly and what an iPhone sound feel like, both touch screen as well as the body. Plus everyone (including me) had the space purple color 14, so it’s nice to switch up. Also if you are going with a 2 year plan might as well upgrade to the 15/15 pro bc it’s only a few more dollars than the 14. The only thing you’re missing out on is three cameras. But I’ve taken a lot of photos since having this, I cannot tell a difference whatsoever. In fact so far I’m enjoying the 15 camera slightly more than I did the 14. The zoom is much better. Also when switched to cinematic mode It’s quality blows me away. That’s how good it is. I would much rather find myself shooting a movie/music video/home videos with the cinematic view on the iPhone 15 over the 14. Again all my opinion but I’m someone who likes the feel of the touch screen as well as the entire phone, as well as the camera. Oh and if I didn’t mention the audio is sooo much better. I also enjoy the fact it charges with a type c cable instead of a regular iPhone charger, that way if I forget to bring mine anywhere, I know anyone who has an android, will have a type C cable that I can use.
My main reason for delaying my iPhone 12 Pro to iPhone 14 was the USBC-C. Now I’m going back and forth betweern the Pro Vs. the Pro max? I liked photos and videos ( many Beach Boys concerts over the years). Is the Max going to give me that much in the optical zoom, or just go with the PRO with max storage. Not much into super telephonic photos, but some rare occasions and not miles apart. Was thinking about the PRO, but rethinking just the 15 PRO w/ 2TB.
I’m going with 256 Pro. Coming from a 12 Pro Max and the size really bothered me. Got the 12 PM because of the camera sensor upgrade over the regular pro. Not feeling it’s worth it this time especially after your review 👍🏼
I went from a max to a regular size before and regretted it and ended up going back to the max next time around. If you watch a lot of video on your phone the max is so much better.
playing it safe got a the 1TB size iPhone Pro Max. Definitely excited this year for the iPhones coming out for some reason.

Just bought a 15 Pro today and I can concur on the hot battery during the initial setup. I've already turned off StandBy mode to combat the battery usage.

There are a few instances where the phone will stop charging at 80% but nothing major.

All I care about is the screen size (never had a max camera) and the camera. I am frequently at national parks etc., and traveling internationally. I currently have an iPhone 13 Pro. It will be interesting to see what I will get for a trade-in to upgrade.

I am currently using an iphone 8 plus 64gb but i am going to upgrade to a blye 15 pro 128gb this month, and it will be a huge upgrade. I lokked at it at the apple store and it was insanely quic with a great camera. loving the dynamic island
here's why I preordered the 15 Pro instead of the 15: AAA game capabilities, 120Hz screen, telephoto lens, USB3 speeds, titanium build. idk in what is the correct order of importance but those were the specific features I thought I'd want in a phone I intend to keep for a long time
That are not that important. ipad pro much better to play AAA Games
I think 15 pro with 3x optical zoom would be the best pick for someone who is fan of optical zoomed potrait photos
