Thank you for pointing out the obvious nonsense of not porting these camera features back to the 14Pro. I obviously understand why they don’t but it is something apple truly deserves to be called out on. They can’t claim to be heading for carbon neutrality whilst trying such frustrating tactics to make you upgrade a perfectly good phone
@@tomkostolom6559 I wouldn’t say they do it every year. They usually have the new chip excuse which at least makes it somewhat believable. This year that argument just doesn’t hold up. I am at least thankful that they gave the 14Pros the new 48MP HEIF max. It makes a huge difference to the quality
@@Hollowtriangles It happened last year when the base 14 had the exact same chip and camera hardware as the 13 pro but got features like 4k cinematic mode which never came to the 13 pro
You might not think that but the average consumer literally doesn’t care They see new iPhone, they buy new iPhone. It’s that simple. Of course these changes aren’t going to be marketed towards you then But the camera upgrades are pretty mega. The 15 plus having better image quality than the 14 pro max outside of telephoto mode is crazy. And you’re getting the best battery of any iPhone ever
Been 4 days using my iPhone 15 plus after using an iPhone X all this time. Just have one thing to say. Nothing could be better than this for me at this point. It’s smooth. Cameras well. Everything works FINE. I’m happy Alhamdulillah
I went from a 13 pro max to the 15 because i wanted a smaller phone, and really i dont care about the lack of 120hz…. Im most definitely an average consumer and am not a power user and the 15 is perfect for me. Size is perfect and the battery life is great. Refreshing to see a reviewer that actually understands what consumers want.
The massive difference between the 60Hz and 120Hz is really there when you've actually daily driven a smartphone with 120Hz refresh rate. I've been using my S20 FE for the past two years. Only using 60Hz for the first year, and just switched to 120Hz for the last one year. At first, I barely noticed the change. But when I tried to go back to 60Hz a few days ago, man it hurt my eyes. I also tried to compare it side by side with my friend's iPhone 13, and it still hurt. For most users that still use 60Hz, and first time comparing with 120Hz, the difference wouldn't be easily visible.
This is exactly my gripe with the iPhone 15 lol. It's 2023 and they still have a 60Hz screen. I'm so used to 120Hz because both my phone and laptop have 120Hz screens.
@@deathtrap5556 fr dude. I was really excited when they finally totally moved to USB-C and really considering the basic 15 for an upgrade. But I guess I'm gonna give my S20 FE another run for a year..
I’ve decided to keep my 13 another year. The 15’s camera upgrades are compelling but that’s the only real noticeable difference to me. I’m not willing to pay hundreds just for better cameras when my 13’s cameras still take good pictures to my eye. Apples gonna need to offer more improvements if I’m gonna spend money on upgrading.
@@kitten_with_bad_breath maybe because of resell value. If I sell my iphone 13 and buy an iphone 15 now, I would save more than selling my iphone next year and buying the iphone 16.
I have an iPhone 12 and I’m only upgrading if the iPhone starts slowing down or when the new iPhone 18 or 19 comes out because the performance jump would be worth it as it’s a huge jump from 12-18or 19
I just love the fact that he is uploading videos almost once in 2 days. Usually people and myself cannot even make a video for a week or a month but the kind of effort he is putting towards entertaining us is just extreme. A huge take a bow to one of the best tech reviewer in present times.
i upgraded from iphone 8 plus to iphone 15 plus AND I’VE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER with my decision to buy the 15 plus. aside from the color (beautiful pink, btw), i just don’t need that 3rd camera. the battery life of 15 plus is insaaaaaane i’m so satisfied.

It is mind blowing how far Arun has improved, I’m starting to love more and more the fact that he can deliver such top quality videos in such a short time !
I haven't had an iPhone since the iPhone 7, and I was closely looking at the 15, but with the Pixel 8 right around the corner, I think I'm going to wait to see what Google has to offer this year. I'm definitely due for an upgrade.
As soneone with the pixel 7 pro I think youd like the pixel experience if you're already an android user. However the iphone is tempting, but Im sure the pixel 8 pro will be a good match so yeah look out for the pixel and then decide
@@kylecastellino6402+1. Got my mom a pixel recently cause she’s not a fan of iPhones. I’m a die hard iPhone guy but Pixels really are a thing of beauty, I’m considering getting one just cause
Say what you will about the Pixel but the cameras are just too damn good no matter what you put them through. So hard to switch to any other phone after using a Pixel. I have the 7 now might get the 8 when it comes out of it's even better
I had the 15 pro max for a week then returned it for the 15 plus due to the iPhone 15 PM overheating even after the “17.1 iOS update”. Now with the 15 plus I’m very happy with it, I got it in pink. I really don’t notice the 60hz vs the 120 looks the same to me, I’m just happy I still have the Dynamic Island and I hardly use the camera so I’m good there too lol. And the battery on the 15 plus is soo much better compared to the pro max.
Hi. I also have the pink iphone 15 plus. Is your flashlight also pinkish? And does your optimized battery charging delay the charging? Cause mine just completely stops at 80% and I have to replug it to continue charging.
I'm waiting to get a 120hz display honestly. I used my mom's iPhone 13 Pro Max for a bit, and I love LOVE how smooth it is. If I'm going to have a phone for another 3-4+ years, might as well upgrade to a faster display. My iPhone 11 I got in late 2019 works perfectly fine after all!
Who knew that a video this long, would be so jam packed with information? Am currently on an iPhone 13 and considering to wait another year or two. This phone even though it’s not perfect it does more than I need it to, it can send messages call people and is perfect for watching memes on.
my wife from 13 pro max to iphone 15 plus without 120hz anymore and she didnt notice at all..plus 15 P is better every aspect from camera to hardware is good value for money for an iPhone..
Currently using a 6s….yeah I’ve been long overdue for an upgrade! Battery capacity is at 65% so imagine how it feels to go for the 15 plus! Bigger screen (though I prefer regular size of the pro but damn that battery!), everything spec wise on the plus is quite a leap from what I’m currently utilizing. Thanks for this vid!
For you to maintain battery life above 60% for several years is AMAZING! You definitely need an upgrade. I hope I can maintain my 13s battery life above 80% for years to come.
I have so much respect for Arun and his team! These videos are such good quality and are really entertaining. Also, almost 1 video every 2 days is incredible! Thank you!!!
Fantastic review, but the first half feels like defending the iPhone 15's weaknesses like 60Hz display and slow charging. Apple could obviously do better with such a pricing, but instead making such a hardware for consumer is a huge no no from me.
That's what I thought as well. I feel like if no matter what apple make he will try his hardest to polish the turd for them no matter how mediocre the upgrade is
I do agree regarding the 14 Pro not getting the capabilities of the 15, they did this last year too. The 13 Pro was a better phone than the normal 14 in every single way, the same 5 core A15, and the 13 Pro had better camera hardware. Yet Apple did not hand over all the 14's features to the 13 Pro. That's the consequenses of using last years chip.
Ah well , its all marketing mate , apples showcase event they droned on and on and on ....... and on .... about how green they where , probably because they did not really have one decent proper stand out new feature , and the titanium thing seems to be not all its cracked up to be ( see drop tests ) . Disappointment abounds .
the regular iphone 15 is using 2022's chip, the A16 bionic a chip from the 14 Pro's. And the regular iphone 14 was using before last years chip, the A15 Bionic, sure it was better in terms of it being a 5 core GPU than a 4 core but that does not change the chip 70% of the time.@@MrBelles104
Your review rings very true with me. When my 9-year-old OnePlus One died last year, I purchased an iPhone 15. It struck me as the most bang for the buck. Super-bright display. Excellent camera. USB-C. Fast processor. Coming from the OnePlus One, I didn't notice any difference in 60Hz smoothness on the iPhone 15. Why should I care about 120Hz??? I really, really appreciate the $360 (Canadian), including tax, I saved over the Pro model.
The first iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro phones have started landing in the hands of those who got their pre-orders in early - and while that's mostly been a cause for celebration, some early users have reported three main teething issues with Apple's new phones. The first issue, a setup bug, is one of two complaints that Apple has now officially responded to. This bug made the iPhone 15 freeze when you tried to directly transfer data from an older iPhone to the new one - in fact, it was an issue we also experienced with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple has rushed out a couple of small firmware updates (iOS 17.0.1 and now iOS 17.0.2) to fix this problem, and it seems to have done the trick. So if you've just received a new iPhone 15, make sure your old iPhone is updated to that latest firmware by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Apple also now has a handy support page for fixing the issue.
Having just bought a 15 Pro I have to say that the always on display has given me unimaginable joy. This is a feature that I didn't really think I was missing from my Android days. But notifications on iPhones are still bad in 2023 so this AOD is just a must have. Now I can glance at my phone and see that someone send me a message. That makes the 60Hz really a minor complaint on regular iPhones
@@someones_hereI would have to daily an Android phone again. But years ago when I used my OnePlus 5T I was pretty happy with notifications. Now I constantly miss a notification or my lockscreen is just full of stuff and it's overwhelming. And non of the different settings really make it better. So there is something that just doesn't work with notifications on iPhones or iPads for that matter
I dont really have a problem with it having the 60hz display, but in my opinion the better choice for the 15 would have been to stick to the notch for 1 more year then add 120hz like the 13pros. That way it will still be differentiated to the 15pros. I think having 120hz is a bigger upgrade than the dynamic island will ever be. Like choosing the lesser of evils, id pick the notch+120hz any day. I have a 14 pro max and I never really had that much interaction with the dynamic island.
apple has, in the past, struggled to differentiate their pro phones. it’s not going to be until the next massive upgrade that they bring promotion to every device
I went from an iPhone 14 Pro Max to the 15 plus. I was skeptical at first before buying it because it’s not a pro but I’m very glad with my purchase. I don’t see any differences between the 120 hz to the 60hz. You can’t tell at all in my opinion. The sound is louder, the screen is brighter and the battery last longer.! On top of that it’s cheaper and I love bigger phones. You can’t go wrong with this phone.
So I switched from an iPhone 14 pro to a 15. I could tell a smidge of a difference only because it was pointed out there was a bit of a difference in refresh rate. Does not change anything in terms of how I enjoy the phone. Here's all I really have to say for anyone on the fence, and thinking maybe I should get the pro, the regular 15 just feels lighter and more balanced in the hand. It is a lot less bulky. I don't miss the features that aren't on the 15 from the 14 pro, but I appreciate how much more I like carrying it around. Getting a 48mp on the base 15 is plenty and does an amazing job with the two cameras it comes with.
Actually the camera, Dynamic Island and the USB-C upgrade is kinda nice. The rest are just a generally decent spec bump. Maybe they could up the battery next time 🤔
It was better than last year, which we only got a minor spec bump. Be happy that this isn’t the case. I’m glad that it’s almost perfect. If it had 120Hz, I wouldn’t need a Pro.
@Yvng_remixer 1. Bigger battery 2. Less powerful chipset (which I am pretty sure is further limited to not perform to it's full potential to prolong the phone's life and battery) 3. Screen is locked on 60 hz 4. Screen is worse than the Pros when it comes to colours and stuff. It's obvious why it has the better battery life, because it straight up is worse compared to the Pros. I can live with the 1 hour less battery life if I have 120 hz and other great features that the Pros have!
Man I am honestly surprised by the quality of Arun's videos eventhough they are uploaded within a day - week from the other like he is able to keep up the quantity and quality
I have had the 12 pro max, 13 pro max and I upgraded after 2 years. I got the iPhone 15 plus in Black. Yes I notice the 60Hz but you do get use to it because of the performance of the 16 bionic chip. I got the phone Saturday and I was excited to use my phone Monday. So got up at 5AM est, worked till 2:30 and it’s 7:22PM. MY battery is at 40 percent. That’s with me on social, music, calls, text and just playing with my phone on break. I wasn’t sure and I kept checking my local Apple Store if I wanted to upgrade. I’m sticking with the plus. Hope this helps anyone who isn’t sure
I switched from an big android device to the 15 regular but can't adjust to the 6.1 inch size. Is the Plus worth it and does it feel heavy/uncomfortable when using it?! I can't decide if I should return my 15 regular and get the plus instead :c!
@@Jinseiiiiiiii yes if you are in your 14 day period to exchange your phone I would def make that change! It’s so lightweight! It’s extremely comfortable and feels great in the hand. I use a MagSafe case on it and it’s still very light. Plus my battery is insane.. I was up at 5:30 and got out of work at 3 and my battery is was 65 percent. And I was on it for podcast, played clash of clans and just being on it when I can. So yes I would definitely would recommend 😃
I currently use 12PM. I like bigger screen and photography as a hobby, don't care about 120Hz display as I've never experienced it. Which one do you prefer to upgrade, iPhone 15 Plus or 15 Pro Max?
15+ should do your job if you don't use telephoto camera and also it has great battery life and also cheaper. However if you need Log video shooting capabilities for professional use, you should get 15PM. But you should definitely pay more. As you're a hobby photographer, my recommendation 15+@@histeriamassal2290
Very useful as always, thank you. I learned a trick to make the iPhone 14 pro max take normal pictures with 48 mp, you just need IOS 17. I would love to se/hear your thoughts on that, I’m sure there are good and bad things about it. You probably know this already but you go into settings, Camera, format and choose: high efficient and standard formats “Heif max” and turn on “ProRaw. You should also go back to Camera settings, preserve settings and go down and turn on “ProRaw and…” so the camera keep the setting for next time.
The truth is, if you’ve never experienced high refresh rate screens like on computers or phones, you’ll never know what you’re missing. But once you experience it you can’t really go back because everything feels so slow and wrong.
That’s not true. It depends on the person. My sister jumped from iPhone 14 Pro to iPhone 15 Plus. She lives for great battery endurance. She can’t tell the difference between refresh rates. Like I said, she’s used Pro Motion all year round. We are tech geeks that’s why!
@@MalcolmREBORNagreed. for example my mom has a 13 pro max and i have an iphone 12, i always have to help her with something on the phone and naturally as i use it i notice it being faster. yes i notice the slower refresh rate after i get back to using my 12 again but after sometime id always get back used to it again and it’s 60hz feels smooth once again i even tried to talk to her about it if she notices the difference and she gave me a face like “wtf are you talking about” and she said how they looked the same. and she’s someone who doesn’t know or care too much about tech
I use a 60Hz iPhone 11 (upgrading soon) alongside a 120Hz Macbook Pro 14 and game at 120Hz on a PS5 and my iPhone has never felt slow or wrong. Not that I wouldn't love Apple to bring 120Hz to their full lineup, but perhaps maybe there is a mental factor at play as well?
@@shahbazshaikh1339 It wouldn't even take a week honestly. Subconsciously you realize that 120Hz doesn't actually make the phone much better at anything other than gaming
Bro arun is killing it, his videos are greatly created, the amount of precision and work he puts on these videos is just mind blowing, keep up the good work arun, love your content
I think that apple has done a really good job with their phones, although in my experience who really have been using a 120hz screen and my girlfriend who has this iphone 11 still feels buttery smooth experience when using the phone on a casual basis. But ofc i can't deny the fact that it really feels good to go back in a 120 hz screen. But most of the people who buy a phone for daily use can't really tell much the difference.
This phone has everything i need. Really good performance and insane battery life. Never use 120hz on phone so 60hz is not my problem, although my laptop screen has 144hz and I can't feel the difference between my phone and my laptop.
I don’t care much about 60hz vs 120hz as a feature but I care about the principle. The fact that a 3 trillion dollar company is so cheap that they put 60hz screens on $800+ and $900+ phones is insane 120hz is a basic feature that should be on every phone above $400
Why should they?... People buy them regardless and overwhelmingly the users of non pro iPhones don't care. Their goal ultimately is to make money, which they do better than anyone
Got my wife a 15 Plus as an upgrade from her iPhone 13 and she’s loving it. The 15s definitely feels like an in-between of a regular base iPhone from years past and a Pro model. Battery life for her has been crazy good, beating out my 15 Pro Max which is also doing very good so far. I think the Plus models are actually a great buy for many this year but the base models are also a good buy for many as well. From what I’m seeing the regular 15 Pros aren’t as worth it this year. Also shout out to Torras. I got my 360° O Ring case for my 15 Pro Max. Really liking it so far.
He is correct. From this point forward, do not buy any older model than the 15s. For me personally USB-C is the biggest reason of all and i am seriously considering upgrading from iPhone 12 to 15 pro max not only because of usb-c but also the small incremental updates will be big enough for me to upgrade. Also My dad literally didn’t buy iPhones because of lack of USB-C. That might change now.
I held both at the apple store yesterday and the iphone 15 felt better than the pro. The pro was heavier and felt dirty because it was a finger print magnet. The non-pro just feels nice and smooth.
I just picked up a 15 as a work phone and it works pretty well so far although I'm contemplating taking it back and exchanging it for a 15 plus for that bigger battery.
I honestly feel like this year's iphones are in a weird transitional period kinda like the 12. It wasn't the best of it's kind being the first "new designed" one. But the 13 refined it almost perfectly. I feel like the same might happen with the 16s, hopefully.
Bro is just pumping out them videos. I love it! It's great to see someone who considers the interests of those who may not be tech-savvy as well as diving deep into the latest features.

I agree with the 60hz argument 100%. I work in a phone shop in the uk its such a hard feature to explain and most customers do not notice, heck I even upgraded my mums 9th gen ipad to an 11inch pro and all she has said is that the speakers are louder lol.
Just booked my 15 Plus today!!! Wasn't sure if i should get the Pro Iphone ( coming up from an old XR ) but this review just sealed the deal. Thank you so much and love your content!!!!
In all honesty, while I do notice 120 hz being smoother than 60 hz, I just learned to not care at all about it. Unless 120 hz unlocks a certain use case that is not possible with 60 hz displays, then I see no point at all in being outraged that the iPhone 15 does not have this tech spec. Besides, I suspect that if someone were to switch back, they would get used with the slower refresh rate when given enough time.
No, making switch from 120hz is impossible and none is doing it. Stop BS. Going from 120w charging to 15W is impossible too. AND I have to sell my Xiaomi 12T Pro which has scraches all around for 250eur to add 900eur more to buy 15 plus. To downgrade this much in very important aspects while adding insane money is ridiculous. Is laughable that better phones like xiaomi 13 or galaxy s23 are half the price.
@@mrodgersmedia If that’s something that outrageous to you, then yeah, I can understand that because variable refresh rate unlocks new functionality. I just wish people refocus their outrage towards that instead of 120 hz itself. You can have a variable refresh rate without having 120 hz, and I do wish the base 15 had that at least. Apple can leave 120 hz as a pro tech spec for this year in my opinion, but they should at least bring down the variable refresh rate so we could use an AOD for those models
I thought it’s impossible to downgrade from 120hz to 60hz before but I’ve went and switched from 120hz android to iPhone 15 and I’ve missed it for like a day. It’s really not a big deal at all.
Best introduction I have seen in a long time. Awesome review Arun, sometimes people just can't always afford pro and so it is great to have a channel that outlines the whole array of specification. If I could ask something Arun, would you ever consider doing reviews on Smartwatches, more Laptops or even cameras (as you have the best camera tests in the world)! Wishing you the best to overtake Apple.
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS! Most reviewers just focus on the biggest and baddest phones every year completely ignoring the fact that there's regular Joe's out there looking for a regular phone.
Nah iPhones of any sort always get attention. It’s the other phones like the regular Galaxy S23 they forget. Heck they don’t even make a video about the Z Fold5, a literal folding phone just because they don’t give it a chance of being their main phone for a few days. It’s a shame cause they pay more attention to an annual new iPhone color.
I have my own anecdote about 120Hz screens. I have been rocking a POCO X3 since launch. I used to have it at 120, now 60 because the battery is aging. My friend bought his at the same time that he saw mine. I didn't think much of it even though I thought about telling him about the 120Hz mode and to ignore it since he doesn't game and would want to conserve battery. I forgot to tell him and about a month later he complained that the battery doesn't feel long enough for the phone. I again didn't think much but then someone came by to show him a used iPhone to sell. He took a look, said the display is fake and gave it back. I took notice, said the phone looked fine and that's when he said it; "the phone isn't smooth, it's lagging." I proceeded to ask for his phone, set it to 60 and handed it back. He blew up asking what I did. Queue a 10 minute explanation of frames and Hz. TL;DR FPS is visible. Apple is cheap.
The truth is both sides care too much. I don't mind buying a 60Hz phone because when I pay for an iPhone I don't feel it's a core part of what I'm paying for. That being said 120Hz is absolutely visible and smoother, and I'd love for them to finally add it to their full lineup but it doesn't sway my purchase decision, in the same way that Apple's seamless ecosystem integration may not sway you and other Android buyers. It's the same concept as people who buy Teslas vs other cars at the same price bracket. Teslas have been found to have overall shakier build quality, minor QC issues and design flaws that you don't find in other cars at that price bracket, but many people knowingly still buy Teslas because of the unique experience they provide regardless of the issues.
I went from my 2 years old Poco X3 to Mi 12 Pro and when I checked the Iphone 15 in the store it felt so.. bad? Camera was great, yeah, but the difference wasn't that great to make me reconsider my decision
Still rocking 12 pro max, but things are definitely getting interesting. I’ll probably upgrade when the 16’s come out next fall. I gotta maximize my upgrade experience. Also I’ve got Pacific blue color and the 15 Pro max comes in a very similar color, meaning that to the untrained eye, I look cool again 💀
i can't upgrade to another lightning iphone. i'd be better off keeping this one. i'll probably keep the 16 for 4-5 years, to match the 4 years i would have kept this phone. the 12 and 13 will be out of software updates by then@@pomocnyinaczej4221
So far seems like the odd numbers iPhones are the ones to get for the last few years. The 12 was fine enough, but then the 13 was better in pretty much every way. The 14 was a bit of a small step up, maybe worse in some aspects, and now a lot of small improvements, corrections, and pretty noticeable differences in the 15 compared to the 14. Looking like the 17 series is gonna be all bangers
Id skip the 17 and wait for 18 or 19. Remove the 1 in front and its iphone 7th generation of 2025. 1st gen to 5th gen are prone too many bug issues and many new changes (beta) 6 is refinement of the 5th which is better no bugs no bad changes everything is optimized, 7 is minor upgrades minor refinement 8 major innovations and 9 is refinement again. And if you see history, it backs this up, hell even today the changes to titanium overheated, backglass breaking too (15 is 5th of the newer generation) many problems that 16 will be refinement and 17 will just minor and 18 will be the leap and 19 refinement again. Unless you want a new phone badly go for it but you would be missing out on next gen features that will be apart of next gen for another 9 generations with iphone 18-19
iPhone X was a huge improvement. iPhone 11 Pro Max introduced the 6.7 inch screen size and 3 camera layout. 12 pro max was a redesign, but with no real improvements. 13 had worthwhile improvements - battery life and brighter 120hz screen. 14 and 15 only really worth it for photographers or gamers. The 15 was a redesign. So I am hopeful that the 16 will have worthwhile improvements like the 13 had.
Traded my S22 Ultra for an iPhone 15 Plus. Honestly, very happy with the battery. I don’t notice the refresh rate, as my Samsungs battery was bad it was always on battery saver
This guys reviews feel more like a product showcase instead of an actual review and I love it. Tells you the objective positives and negatives and his opinion isn't shoved down your throat.
Recently your videos feel more and more biased towards a company. I am not judging u or something but the whole reason I started watching you was because your videos were kind of unbiased.
I finally made the switch from an Android to an iPhone 15 Plus (these videos helped and that screen was just magical) and wow I love it. I honestly appreciate that it's 60 Hz so much. 120 Hz tends to trigger my motion sickness and I have to limit it (if I even get that option)
I have a OnePlus 11 with 1440p 120Hz display and have been using iPad Pro with 120 Hz display since 2018. But the extra battery that you get after turning off 120Hz in the iPad and also turning off higher resolution in OP 11, is worth it. Even though I would consider myself an enthusiast I have been totally fine without using these display features.
While everyone seems to be pissed of at apple due to their lack of innovation, Arun never misses a chance to praise them immensely. He's the kind of guy who'll buy iphone every year even if nothing has changed in the new ones.
I agree. It's glaring in his last videos. It's sad, but I'm afraid I cannot trust Arun's videos now when it involves iPhones. He just loves them so much. I mean - he basically just brushed off having a 60 Hz display and a 2-hour charging time to be a non-issue, considering the price range of these phones. If this was not an iPhone, those things will definitely be the negatives. But since this is an iPhone - it is not an issue. LOL... A certified iPhone fanboy... which makes me sad, since one thing I really like about MrWhoseTheBoss is the integrity of his videos. Well, it still has integrity now, just not on videos that involves iPhones.
@@Whelzki truer words have never been spoken. Having a 60hz display, usb 2.0 and such a long charging time doesn't seem to bother him when truly they're factors that need to be focused on since the competition at the same price provides much better options.

for older phones with lightning port, you can use a lightning to hdmi adapter, which should also let you connect the phone to external displays. because both lightning and the usb c on the regular 15 only support usb 2 speeds (thanks, Apple!), there should be no noticeable difference in this regard.
Well, sort of. The phone would have to have display port alt mode enabled. It's not clear that all lightning models support this feature. Some do, but I think mostly only the pro line up.
I have an S22+, the 15 plus is the first iPhone ive ever considered switching to Apple for, big screen and usb c for under $1k. At this point it should have atleast 90hz. That would be a tough switch to 60hz after having 90hz+ for almost 4 years now. The charging speed annoys also, but really long battery life kinda midigates that. Maybe the 16+ will get me.
5-6 hours of very heavy use. average 8 hours for most normal stuff. If you can't get through the day with 8 hours and need *13* , it says more about you than the product. @@abdullahiomar20
@@maomekat7969 I returned my iphone 13 pro got a 15 pro for free. 0 dollar charge and my phone subscription is still only 22 dollars a month for free calling and unlimited 5g data. How can you say that's a bad deal lol?. I wanted to try the Samsung galaxy ultra tbh but they said 600 dollars if i returned my iPhone 13 pro lol. Get out of here that's trash value.
I use a Samsung Galaxy A52s since 2021, and the 60Hz screen is a deal-breaker for me. You just cannot go back to 60Hz no matter how hard you try, I would buy this phone if it even had 90Hz. If budget phones have it, what is stopping Apple from putting a higher refresh rate on this phone?
It’s called money. Apple can then use it on their next phones and label it as the next big thing. And, as much as it sucks, it’s really great marketing.
Or they could have just gone for an LTPO display like Android flagships, which saves the battery more than a regular 60 hz and gives you the 120 hz experience too.
Great video! I disagree that they’re slightly LESS powerful than the flagship Androids, because while this is true in GPU, it’s not in CPU. CPU still smashes literally all Androids!
iPhone 15's overheating issue is worrying a lot of us. When Samsung introduced USB-C on the Note 7, it exploded. Now that Apple has introduced USB-C on the iPhone 15 Pro and Max series, we're facing overheating issues.
It’s actually a really smart idea to start producing A17 processors en Masse now, because the ones that are fully functional will be labeled A17 Pro and put in the iPhone 15 pro, but the ones with defects will be binned, labeled as A17 and put in a warehouse for use in next years iPhone 16, so they will have an absurd amount of chip supply when they ramp up production next year
Thank you for the video Arun. I think we all know if Apple ever introduces 90 or 120 Hz on the base model, no one ever will buy the pro models because there is no reason to. Yes the macro lense is nice to have but its like the 10x zoom on the S23 Ultra, nice to have but in reality barely used.
Not true - The 15 pros 3rd camera is a Telephoto, the pros have better cameras all around, a newer chip, better build, and alot more. people would still buy the pros.
Thats Apples fault for not introducing new features. That 60hz refresh rate is so 5 years ago for that price. Apple sheep would still buy it since theyre mostly clueless.
@@arcaine101Naah, there are actually many people who don’t even consider refresh rate in very first place. It’s that not that much of a requirement though good to have. It’s like just cherry on cake.

It’s really the only thing holding it back. I would totally want it if it had a 120hz or even 90hz display.

What is this chat gpt ahh review
Having just bought a 15 Pro I have to say that the always on display has given me unimaginable joy. This is a feature that I didn't really think I was missing from my Android days. But notifications on iPhones are still bad in 2023 so this AOD is just a must have. Now I can glance at my phone and see that someone send me a message. That makes the 60Hz really a minor complaint on regular iPhones
What’s the negative about iPhone notifications? I used a s-## for an amount of time and saw no real difference.

I turned that shit off 😂. Got the 14 pro max and that was really annoying. And it drains battery+damages the screen in the long term

1. Bigger battery
2. Less powerful chipset (which I am pretty sure is further limited to not perform to it's full potential to prolong the phone's life and battery)
3. Screen is locked on 60 hz
4. Screen is worse than the Pros when it comes to colours and stuff.
It's obvious why it has the better battery life, because it straight up is worse compared to the Pros. I can live with the 1 hour less battery life if I have 120 hz and other great features that the Pros have!

But ofc i can't deny the fact that it really feels good to go back in a 120 hz screen. But most of the people who buy a phone for daily use can't really tell much the difference.
Can vouch for Torras here. Got their ultra slim case on my 14 Pro and this thing is as good as it gets considering its thickness
Definitely the best,I love their ostand series and screen protector is absolutely incredible

This phone has everything i need. Really good performance and insane battery life. Never use 120hz on phone so 60hz is not my problem, although my laptop screen has 144hz and I can't feel the difference between my phone and my laptop.
orrrr maybe your monitor has been running 60hz all this time without you realizing it.
Bro the difference between 60 and 120hz is massive. Maybe your laptop is broken
The difference is massive, i can literally tell the difference even between 60 vs 90 vs 120hz

@UmarAkmalPK huh😐?? Bro this is a tech channel...
@UmarAkmalPK yup, in dreams but the reality is different and the whole of Pakistan is far poorer than those names given. 😂
@UmarAkmalPK 1 kg Aata from me for writing this paragraph 🤡
He is correct. From this point forward, do not buy any older model than the 15s. For me personally USB-C is the biggest reason of all and i am seriously considering upgrading from iPhone 12 to 15 pro max not only because of usb-c but also the small incremental updates will be big enough for me to upgrade.
Also My dad literally didn’t buy iPhones because of lack of USB-C. That might change now.

I held both at the apple store yesterday and the iphone 15 felt better than the pro. The pro was heavier and felt dirty because it was a finger print magnet. The non-pro just feels nice and smooth.
4:38 crazy how the phone auto locks when Arun mentioned “locked at 60Hz…” talk about timing 😆
But the 12’s were still miles better than the 11 series phones
The base iPhone 11 was literally a reskinned iPhone XR with a wide angle lens 😂😂
I actually liked the 12 series , not perfect but still a solid phone .
This one is the refinement.

You are definetly right at 60hz vs 120hz its not a deal breaker but just because they can doesn't mean they should continue deliver worse screens
They should deliver worse screens and must increase price. We must support and help apple.
I agree with the 60hz argument 100%. I work in a phone shop in the uk its such a hard feature to explain and most customers do not notice, heck I even upgraded my mums 9th gen ipad to an 11inch pro and all she has said is that the speakers are louder lol.

Facts. Once you adjust to either one it’s basically pointless!
You cannot use always on display without the 120hz monitor, this is the use case. Therefore no standby always on mode. Deal breaker for me.
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS! Most reviewers just focus on the biggest and baddest phones every year completely ignoring the fact that there's regular Joe's out there looking for a regular phone.
You really do not have to spend that kind of money if you are just looking for a regular phone.
@@rssssssss0882u can't decide for people how much they want to spend for an everyday phone 😂
I didn't realize the USB C ports were colour matched that's such a cute detail!
Also I’ve got Pacific blue color and the 15 Pro max comes in a very similar color, meaning that to the untrained eye, I look cool again 💀
nice
Wait another 4 years and see them cycle back to that colour again.
wait for 16 and buy 13 pro :)
same. i'd love a new camera though, and usb-c would be very convenient !
i can't upgrade to another lightning iphone. i'd be better off keeping this one. i'll probably keep the 16 for 4-5 years, to match the 4 years i would have kept this phone. the 12 and 13 will be out of software updates by then@@pomocnyinaczej4221
And if you see history, it backs this up, hell even today the changes to titanium overheated, backglass breaking too (15 is 5th of the newer generation)
many problems that 16 will be refinement and 17 will just minor and 18 will be the leap and 19 refinement again.

@UmarAkmalPKyour balla
Having a 60hz display, usb 2.0 and such a long charging time doesn't seem to bother him when truly they're factors that need to be focused on since the competition at the same price provides much better options.

for older phones with lightning port, you can use a lightning to hdmi adapter, which should also let you connect the phone to external displays. because both lightning and the usb c on the regular 15 only support usb 2 speeds (thanks, Apple!), there should be no noticeable difference in this regard.
used lightning -> hdmi before it was hyped xDDDD
Well, sort of. The phone would have to have display port alt mode enabled. It's not clear that all lightning models support this feature. Some do, but I think mostly only the pro line up.

I have an S22+, the 15 plus is the first iPhone ive ever considered switching to Apple for, big screen and usb c for under $1k. At this point it should have atleast 90hz. That would be a tough switch to 60hz after having 90hz+ for almost 4 years now. The charging speed annoys also, but really long battery life kinda midigates that. Maybe the 16+ will get me.

60Hz display doesn’t really bother me too much but the fact the 15+ is 60Hz is a bit of a good thing since that should help with the battery life.
Or they could have just gone for an LTPO display like Android flagships, which saves the battery more than a regular 60 hz and gives you the 120 hz experience too.
You can turn it off on phones that have 90hz and 120 hz for the past 5 years buddy. Just in case you ain’t know cause you listen to the shills

It’s actually a really smart idea to start producing A17 processors en Masse now, because the ones that are fully functional will be labeled A17 Pro and put in the iPhone 15 pro, but the ones with defects will be binned, labeled as A17 and put in a warehouse for use in next years iPhone 16, so they will have an absurd amount of chip supply when they ramp up production next year
Yes cheap
And it's also because the TSMC 3nm process is very unreliable at the moment, so much so that I don't think Qualcomm needs to worry about anything.
