Thanks Martin. The Sena site and literature is sadly lacking in practical setup information. The wi-fi upgrade seems to be more hit and miss than anything. Yours was the clearest info yet. You are correct regarding the speakers -- they are a huge leap forward compared to the ones in my old SRL2. For those who own BMWs fitted with the TFT screen, the wunder-wheel now controls the volume provided the phone is connected directly to the TFT rather than to the SRL-Mesh.
Just so you all know I’m on a cross country trip and my sena has stopped working when I purchased it at cycle gear I did not buy there 2 year warranty because the sena already has a two year warranty I was hoping that cyclegear would replace it not the case so not happy that it only lasted a little over a year. So I had to buy another one I will let you know what the outcome is when I contact sena

I just bought one today. Both Neo2 and Sena srl.
It went pretty easy to connect Wi-Fi, but it took 6 tries before the update did update

If you with others that have mesh it’s way better than Bluetooth

Heard bad things about the sl2 speakers so having a new neotech 2, this seems to be the only other option.
