But ..... If one were to be petty, since it is matter of animation and it's correctness, they didn't animate it. It was of screen. So he could have skipped that, since all he has to play is what is animated.
there is only so much info you can fit into 24/30FPS and when you are trying to animate something as complex as Neil Peart doing a solo it is basically impossible. Yes, it is also very hard with this animation style where it looks like a slideshow or when i try to play Cyberpunk 2077
this is actually a better attempt at animating drums than the other entries. at least it wasn't as cringe-inducing and blatantly lazy like the simpsons' go at it
Animators are usually overworked so I wouldn’t say its lazy, I would say they don’t animate like them in real life because they want to save time and because the general population doesn’t know how to play drums or just don’t care. its a good strategy that saves them the time they barely have. Animators aren’t lazy people, they spent hours and even years working on projects and most of them are treated like robots and are overworked. Appreciate the animation even if you notice that the drums aren’t animated correctly Edit: I had to make this comment more understandable as some people got confused on what I was trying to say, I apologize for any people I confused.
I'mma level with you, you should just appreciate the animations that take the time to animate it correctly, instead of shiting on the ones that don't. Animation is a hard and long process that goes through all sorts of things before you get the final product and the least of an animator's worries is making sure instruments look accurate to the people that play them.

So I was listening to Hot Chocolate's "So You Win Again" while this was playing, thinking it was the original audio. I was thoroughly impressed when it switched to "what was actually played" and nothing changed. For a second, I honestly thought meatball was being resurrected to the dulcet tones of Hot Chocolate 🤦🏼♂️
To be fair, Aqua Teen is one show where I would absolutely expect them to not animate anything like that in realistic detail. That's for like Metalacolypse.

You think the ATHF animators would go through the effort of accurately animating the drum player when they already put that much effort into animating Meatwads revival?
Aqua Teen Hunger Force has low budget animation. For example, the characters’ faces reset which they turn around and face the other way, sometimes there is a one frame facial expression transition, the characters have only a few different facial expressions (unless something happened to them that changes their physical appearance), etc. Yet somehow the drumming in this scene is more accurate than most other drumming animations in other shows and movies. Also I love how the cut at around 0:26 made it look like he dropped to the floor and died again after being revived
You gotta appreciate the artistic license that goes into animation. The medium is time-consuming, and you have to cut a lot of corners just to get something out in time.

To be fair, it's probably extremely difficult to animate Neil Peart correctly, especially with Aqua Teen's limited Flash animation style.

They should've played the "actual" fill, it would've been hilarious
This always gets me with any musical instruments. Even in non-animated movies, most instruments are not portrayed correctly.
