Nanowar of Steel is an italian band who makes mostly hilarious music. As you can see, however, they're great musicians and I find their originality almost genial. Unfortunately their lyrics can't be fully understood by non Italian mother tongue speakers as they contain a lot of wordplays and references to italian culture in general. Here are a couple of examples took from this song: at minute 3:06 a sampled "catchphrase" of an old commercial starts playing (Dottor Scotti!). A piece of the refrain says "esta vida loca a mirar la foca asando un salmon" which literally means "this crazy life, looking at the seal and roasting a salmon". However as Italian and Spanish are very similar to each other, there can easily be found a wordplay involving the word "foca" (seal) which is spelled and pronounced the same in Italian but its pronunciation is very similar to an italian bad word: "fica" (literally pussy). The italian expression "looking at the pussy" broadly means "looking at gorgeous girls" in general and "roastin a salmon" can be seen as a hidden sexual reference for saying "having a boner" as a funny italian way to name the penis is "fish".
Turn on the captions of the video for official English translations for the Spanish parts. Also if you enjoyed this react to Nanowar of Steel - Valhallelujah. It's even more hilarious.
Nanowar is a comedy heavy metal band from Rome, Italy. Their name is a pun on the metal band Manowar, and represents their tendency to satirize True Metal, the primary focus of their music. Their work mainly aims to make humorous references to and jokes about the genre, often parodying the way in which power metal bands are perceived to take themselves very seriously. Never heard of them till today hilarious.
Maybe black metal. Power metal dont really take themselves seriously. Except manowar who are garbage and cringy. And they dont even deserve to be labeled power. Lol.
Never heard this song, I’m discovering it with you. Norway is the birthplace of Black Metal, hence the makeup and aesthetic, and lyrics referencing bloodthirst and whatnot. The lyrics referencing the church burning are because one of the pioneers of black metal, a man named Varg Vikernes (also referenced in the song) went to prison for burning down a church. It’s a really fun mashup of Reggaeton and Norwegian black metal, lol. Lyrics in English, Norwegian, and Spanish. If you like this, look up the band Kontrust, particularly the songs “Sock n Doll”, “Bomba”, Hey DJ”, and “Propaganda”.

@@01Luna01 Nah, it's totally possible to get down with this if you don't know any of the references. I will concede that it's a whole lot better when you do get them though. Also, it's not just metal references, you're still missing a lot if you don't know anything about reggaeton and the culture around it.
I am addicted to this song! As a Norwegian it makes it even better! This song rocks! I have now made all of my friends like this song ☺️😅👌🏼🙈 If they had not loved it, they would not be my friends anymore 🙃😇 Awesome!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼😍🇳🇴🇳🇴👌🏼 I subed at once! This is seriously like looking at norwegian drunk on the dancefloor 🤣👌🏼
The video is kinda straightforward: the black metal dudes are among the bikini babes at the beach resort, and the reggaeton dudes end up in a black metal club with the black metal babes.
LMAO! If you just saw this...you should probably watch the video for "Vahalleluja"...you're welcome... 🤣 This reaction got you a sub from me btw... 🤣🤣🤣
Hey Billy, if you read this, they just came out with a song called Uranus you should check out (along with Steel Panther, whose singer is featured on that song). Also, VALHALLELUJA!!
Nanowar Of Steel is an Italian parody metal band. The name of the band is a parody of the heavy metal band Manowar, and the "Of Steel" parodies when the band Rhapsody had to change its name for legal reasons and these changed it to "Rhapsody Of Fire". The lyrics of the song are all references to Norwegian culture and stereotyped black metal to the fullest.
I think Profanar la tomba translates roughly to something about pissing on graves. I'm not 100% on that. Also, I wake up to this song playing in my head. Catchy af
The Girl is from Suicide Girls AleRose Bunny. And did you notice the main guy died at the Beach from.... Corona? The Spanish parts are all about Metal/Satanism/Death Metal while being funny. And Asando Salmon. Cooking Salmon. 2 Words Vegan Velociraptor
For the part where the dude plays drums on some girls' buttocks, there was a video of some reggaeton song that did the same (I can't remember which one, though^^), this is a joke that plays on it! Also, the bald dude looks like Pitbull lol
See, I'm a metalhead from eastern europe. I know enough norwegian, spanish to get the lyrics. it's so much funnier when you know. it's puns about metal eliteism and church burnngs in the nae of metal ::)))) and it's funny. you just gotta get the context. As a european I understand most of it due to culture. you pick up a thing or two. you just comprehend basic notions fro languages that you don't actually now. also there's a history between norwegian black metal and church burnings. you just need the context to find the joke
As a Puerto Rican... I can tell you this isn't reggaeton... in order for a song to be considered reggaeton it needs to have that signature dembow beat. Lmao
When Italians pay tribute to the Scandinavian Roots of Black Metal.....you wont understand anything if you are not familiar with the Black Metal History......Hellhammer,Fenriz,Darkthrone,Burzum etc.....and some "Zombie" ;)
Lots of jokes/references here about Norwegian black metal, not sure how well you will get it if you don't know that type of music. Check out Barbie milf princess of the twilight by Nanowar next.
Thanks bro for the great reaction video! We're glad you enjoyed dancing along :)
You rock!! 🙌🏼😍👌🏼🇳🇴🇳🇴💫✌🏼

And foca in Spain is also a insult to fat people
And the funniest (or weirdest) thing is that the bass player, Edoardo, is a PhD in theoretical physics

The reason why this song went viral is because is the blend of two music genres that are like water and oil together. Metal and Reggaeton.
More than two actually.

Varg went to prison for murder not burning shitty churches

Added insult to the injury: It is him whose photo they are burning, the producing the reggeaton photo.
