I just wanted to thank the channel and everyone on it. I started flying again this year after a very long 17-year break with PP-SEL and 85 hours. I have to say that the content and comments on this channel helped me greatly to get back into flying and training safely. I'm at 230 hours and with IR and MEL done while working on my CPL at this point, and I still come back to the channel for more every chance I get. I also hope to own an airplane in the near future, and you covered the various aspects of owning vs. renting very well. Keep the videos coming! Thanks again!
I really appreciate your comment. More than anything, I'm pumped that you decided to get back into the air! That's so fun to celebrate. Congrats on your momentum and welcome back! I've had my Private Pilot License for 41 years now and just randomly stumbled on your channel and really enjoyed this video. I decided to subscribe and to receive all your notices. I'm looking forward to your new videos and I'll be going through your playlists as well.
Hey man, I know you work hard on these. Just wanted you to know that your content has taken huge steps recently. Great job. Keep going. Passed PPL checkride (Central MS) two weeks ago. I eat this content up!
Thanks for going out of your way to mention that, I appreciate it! Trying to improve. CONGRATS on your PPL, that's awesome!! If you want to send over a pic and a brief version of your story at airplaneacademy.com/contact I might feature it. I'd like to congratulate new pilots here and there on the channel. No worries if not.
Energy management on final. Absolutely agree with you on this. As a new pilot I’m constantly trying to refine my pattern work to where the ugly landings are fewer and further between. Great videos brother. 🤙🏼
Hey Charlie, I'm a 16 year old student pilot from California and I'm getting pretty close to my PPL. I watch a lot of aviation youtube channels and this is definitely one of my favorites, I hope your channel gets millions of subscribers like it deserves. Recently, I've been trying to convince my mom to let me have an introductory flight to aerobatics for my birthday (just a one time thing). My mom thinks it's too dangerous and I've been trying to find good resources to prove that it isn't as dangerous as she thinks. I read your article about aerobatics which helped me understand what it is, I was wondering if you knew of any sources to help me out. Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Hey Tim! Its awesome to see a fellow student pilot with the same interests, I’m a huge fan of aerobatics as well! I soloed just last week & am preparing for my first cross-country solo. Got any tips?
@@Joesofly1 Hey Joseph, I haven't had my first cross-country solo yet. There's been a lot of wild fires in California as I'm sure you've heard and it's delayed my flying by about a month. I'm still a little ways away from my first cross country solo. I don't think I have any tips that you wouldn't already know, I hope you have a blast! Have you done any aerobatic flying?
Aw, mom, it isn't dangerous under the guidance of a good instructor. And aerobatics is yet another way to improve ones proficiency as a pilot. Learning 1G rolls, stall-spins, split-S maneuvers, etc. all reinforce the capabilities and performance envelopes of an airplane. Let her read that. :) Good luck with your training. I've had a few lessons in an C-152 Aerobat. It's scary fun. And really, like so many other extensions of ones training, it does improve your flying skills. If you go on for your commercial ticket, there are maneuvers there that will benefit significantly from aerobatic training.
Hi Timothy - congrats on preparing for your PPL! That's awesome. I've only done aerobatics once, but it was completely amazing. I think basic aerobatics can be extremely safe (loops, rolls, even spins), and they do make you more proficient (especially spin training). You might try positioning it as that and really focus on spin training (easy to let stalls turn into spins if you're un-coordinated) and then do a loop and a roll at the end of the flight. But at the end of the day if she's your guardian then that's how it needs to be for now. You have the rest of your aviation career still ahead of you and aerobatics will always be there. Good luck! And thanks for the compliments on the channel, glad you are finding it useful!
Thanks for the content! Biggest mistake as a student pilot for me, is feeling rushed. I’ve learned to slow things down on the ground and in the air, never done learning! I’m hoping to finally get my first XC solo done for my PPL tomorrow. Upstate NY weather has made this very difficult this time of year.
Hi Patrick - fantastic advice and I completely agree. It's so easy to feel rushed, either by ourselves, by other airplanes, by ATC, etc.. how did you solo XC go??
The checklist item is so important. It's a point in a flying career that you have to make the mental checklist to slow down and do the checklist. Maybe you get away with it in a trainer with fixed gear. But when you move up to more advanced and faster airplanes, it's easy to forget important tasks. Lots of perfectly great airplanes have been landed without the wheels put down because someone didn't follow the checklist.
Thanks for sharing and I totally agree. I'm still flying pretty basic aircraft but even then it's easy to miss important things. Best to just have the habit of always using the checklist.
Why not have this check list built into the audio system of the plane and have it require prompts.. so easy these days to establish ..IMO.. My son uses old cell phones to do all kinds of simple jobs
Charlie, I have told you this before but I believe it is worth repeating again. I can’t wait for the day when you get through the CFI course and are working with pilots of all skill levels. I know that the flying community is going to be much better off once you get this rating. You are already a great teacher and if your patience level is always like what I see here, you are going to be a great blessing. Thank you for your ongoing inspiration.
As a new pilot in training I thank you for all this information so that when I do get in with my CFI and fly I can already be looking at what I can do to improve myself as a pilot and help my CFI as much as possible to train me.
I'm not a pilot (yet) but a big enthusiast and simmer & I really enjoy your channel. Your tips simply make a lot of sense even to a simulation pilot. As a fellow filmmaker, I also really like the bits of flying vids you put in between the content and think you could even add some more of those if you got them. Keep up the good work and your wonderful spirit!
Only 90 hour ppl and bought a bonanza! HI performance and complex done. First few solo flights this weekend. Weather in Colorado is great right now. Heading to corpse crunchy Texas mid October vacation. Nerves are racked for my first long trip. Thanks for the videos
Thanks for cranking out the great content Charlie. Part 103 operator here who stopped his ppl training 20 years ago due to lack of $$$. Building an exp amateur built right now, so I won't have any more excuses in another 5-600 hours! I fly with GA friends once or twice a month and handle comms and checklists. ATC busy radio chatter used to rattle me. Not so much anymore.
Hi JP - thanks for the comment and that's exciting about your homebuilt! Awesome. And I agree, doing checklists and comms from right seat is awesome practice. It goes a long way.
@@AirplaneAcademy Thanks Charlie. I dial in frequency changes and run my own navigation congruent with the magenta line. VFR route planning with an old school flight computer is extremely rewarding. I like using VORs to test my ETA skills. Also play flight engineer and make sure the old O-360 is running tiptop lean of peak while cruising.
Another great video, Charlie. Thanks. Although not aviation related, I can relate to all of the mistakes you listed. Complacency is the mother of all mistakes. We stop talking, we stop learning, we assume we know it all.
Plus an IFR rating can turn many no-go situations into "go" situations. Maybe the ceiling is low at your airport, but ten miles away it's clear. Very common for that to happen in Alaska.
I'm intrigued, I've been working since I was 11 years old to get to a major airline. Finally made it, and all I want to do is to buy an airplane to fly for fun and remember why I love aviation. Looking forward to watching your videos. If you need a ride when you fly into KJWY send me a message.
Thanks Chad and congratulations on your flying career! I have met many airlines pilots that still say their favorite plane to fly is a super cub. So having a plane on the side to fly when you aren't in the big jets seems to be a common thing.
Just finished my checkride and got my temporary license on Friday! Took a bit to get done waiting for weather to go through but glad it’s done and going to be starting my instrument rating in the next couple weeks hopefully. Glad I found another great aviation channel to utilize, thanks for the videos!
hey Adam - a huge CONGRATS for your PPL! That's so awesome man. Really excited for you. You'll love the instrument rating, too... challenging but very fun and rewarding.
Awesome video! You keep coming up with great videos. I was going to make a video flying my mom for the first time yesterday but the winds were too bad for my comfort level in the 152, so I had to make the no go decision!
Daycab Dave yeah here there was just a huge spread between the gusts, at least for a 152 and a low time pilot. It was a really tough decision, but I believe the right one.
Hoosier Pilot yup never exceed your personal limits. I’m a real low time pilot have little over 20hrs lol. Heading to KILE now to fly with my instructor.
My favourite fixed wing channel brother I am learning so much every time. Everything’s a bit different in Canada but I’m coming to Oregon in May for my helicopter ifr cfi and cfii
First cross country solo I didn’t use my checklist after landing at my destination. I was already in the plane, everything was on so I didn’t know where to begin. Anyhow I forgot to set trim for takeoff. It was nose down so that was a scary takeoff holding gobs of elevator and trying to trim it at low altitude. 😩
Don't worry, I forget to reset my trim for takeoff sometimes also and yeah you get a nice little surprise during the roll :) Why we gotta all use the checklist!
Hey Charlie, I have watched a lot of videos here on UA-cam. I Really appreciate the information you are sharing. One of the biggest and hardest decisions a pilot is faced with is the Go-No-Go decision. Especially if you are a low level pilot. I have lost friends and relatives to fatal GA plane crashes. My first instructor was killed in a crash at take off, the weather was not a factor, is was pilot error. Flying has been a Dream of mine since I was a young boy, I actually learned to fly as a teenager but had to give it up when I graduated high school during the Viet Nam war. It was a dream I gave up over 50 years ago when life got in the way, Getting married, raising a family etc. after coming home from the war and the opportunities of becoming a paid commercial pilot were snatched up by all the military pilots coming home too. I don't know why I'm telling you all this accept I'm very impressed with your approach to flying, it's not something to take lightly or recklessly. I am now going to pursue that dream I once had, I just completed my ground school. I want to take it all the way to the commercial level and hopefully be able to land some charter business. Of course I will acquire the instrument rating and multi engine rating, I may even pursue CFI and CFII. I will continue to watch you videos and follow you. Thank you for sharing. BTW, in one of you videos you mention how you were doing things to pay for your flying, would you share some of that with me please. Be safe. Wayne
Wayne, thanks for your comment and for sharing your story. I appreciate the compliments and am glad you've found the channel useful. I am so excited that you have decided to pursue your dream again. I love hearing stories like this and am so excited for all that you have to look forward to in your aviation journey. You can join the waiting list for my passive income course at airplaneacademy.com/join and in the meantime you'll get my 5-day email series on my biggest lessons learned in 16 years of flying. Hope it helps!
Charlie, another great video. What resonated with me most was to keep on learning, to make a better pilot, better able to handle more challenging situations.
Charlie. Great tips. I’m 300hr PPL in south of UK and have busy airspace all round. I still struggle on radio. Lots of IFR traffic that I don’t understand. Gotta look at that Instrument Rating! Thanks again.
Thanks and I'm glad you found it helpful! I agree... even if you don't get your instrument, maybe take a few IFR lessons and learn how to read approach plates so that if other aircraft are in the VFR pattern with you but on the approach you'll be more familiar with what their position and intentions mean. Looking back I wish I would have been more exposed to it even during my PPL.
Thanks for the content. I'm taking my second crack at my PPL (ran out of time & money 10 years back), communication is definitely where I find myself working. Have found a lot of benefit listening to LiveATC to hone my skills and use more concise phrasing. The additional ratings bit I've already fount true. I started with a glider license, which is a great foundation for energy management. First time my CFI pulled power to idle in the 172 for a simulated engine failure it was a non-issue for me.
Thanks for the comment. I haven't yet flown a glider but I imagine that is the masterclass in energy management! And communication gets easier with time. Listening to ATC app is so so helpful and I still do it regularly. Check out the other ATC videos on this channel if you'd like more on this. Hope it helps!
@@AirplaneAcademy thanks! Will definitely check it out. Gliders are a blast, highly recommend. If you find yourself in Central Florida and still haven't had the chance I'll gladly take you up
Good job mate, nearly finished my PPL only 10 hrs to go, So just complete a couple of my first solo's and the check list is something that i have noticed i am only skimming over now. These videos are good to hear some of this stuff for me to keep my eye on and be proactive to make sure i don't become complacent. You got my Sub
I don't have a license yet I haven't even started Flight School. I will be starting soon. But I can tell you every one of your videos I watch I feel like I'm getting a ton of useful information.
I just passed my ppl Checkride this week! Can u make a video on how to effectively use foreflight and kind of show how to use it for everyday basis? And how to use it properly during flight.
Great recommendation. I use Foreflight on my iPad as a backup to charts and as a supplement when I'm doing trickier flights (e.g., going through the VFR corridors over the Grand Canyon.) I have an external GPS antenna that I just hook up to my iPad and stick the antenna up on the dash. It works great. Even on commercial flights, it's kind of fun to use it to track your flight (and to amuse little kids when they ask what game I'm playing.)
Congrats on your check ride, that's awesome!! Welcome to the club. And thanks for the suggestion, I'll make a note about this and possibly do a video on it in the future.
Thanks bro. Very educational and informative about what new pilots should and shouldn't do. Myself a new pilot coming in. In progress of taking my private pilot written first - Sporty on-line ground school. Just finish with the videos, and studying the questions to be on the test. Sporty is the best. Then should be able to start my training February 2021. Before starting was looking into some kind of scholarship for my flight training. I don't need much - $1,000-$2,000. That was really help.
Hi Corey - congrats on pursuing your PPL! I did it similarly where I took my written first and then did my training. I learned to prefer that method but there are pros and cons to one before the other. Stick with it! Excited for you
Just found your UA-cam page. I really enjoy the way you present your material. Although I have had my license for a couple of years (PPL), haven't flown a whole lot. Looking forward to getting back in the plane and learning from you. Keep it up
Airspeed management for sure, always keep an eye on that. Another thing is getting out of your flow, make sure you are robotically consistent in the critical points of flights, and on the ground. Being aware of what is around you, especially when you are at a new or unfamiliar airport, is key.
You make me want to commit to getting my license. My husband said he'd buy me lessons. I've been obsessed with aviation for the last three years. Blancolirio, Mentor Pilot, and others and now you. Thanks.
Hi Shasta - I can't encourage it enough! If you have any questions or need some additional "nudging", feel free to voice it in the comments or reach out at airplaneacademy.com/contact
It's spring time here in the Patagonia and I'm super happy to finally get rid of the sweater. I would add mistake #-1 (pre-pilots make the most): thinking that a pilot license is too expensive and too difficult to get.
Hi John - that must be awesome to fly down there, wow. And we're ready for some heat relief here in TX.... I agree with you, sometimes the idea of getting your license gets prematurely thrown out the window due to costs, but there are more and less expensive ways to enjoy aviation. I've done some content on that and plan to do more so that people don't write it off too early.
Airplane Academy U guys in America have a way bigger pilot/aviation community than wie have here...so if u want to have AAA content u have to watch videos like urs😀 But to he honest thats good for each pilot or aviation fan who is no native speaker cause aviation language is english and if u just watch videos in english its getting better each day. Keep up the great work and stay safe!✌🏼️
Subscribed! Your personal minimums is a huge one I’ll agree with. Ironically mine have changed to be more restrictive since I got my license, after an uncomfortable flight in some thick haze. Lots of great points here, and still working on the confidence to leave my 50nm bubble. I learned to fly under the class B shelf of LAX, but fly in dead airspace and land of nothing in the desert. Definitely losing the confidence I had to fly in the busy airspace down below, crazy what 30 days will do to confidence on the radio.
Thanks Brad! Pumped to have you here. Definitely agreed on the personal minimums. And I hear you on feeling "rusty" - maybe consider listening to ATC stream of the airspace you normally fly in and get some mental reps in. I enjoy doing that in the car.
I like this reminder. I've put off getting my IFR and appreciate the encouragement. Also, the encouragement to try new things is good. I do find that I prefer going to places I've already been. Next stop for me is First Flight Airport, only an hour and a half away in my recently acquired Mooney.
Nice video, thanks mate. I think it just boils down to flying like a professional. Even if it's just your buddies on board, behave like it's serious business, 'cos it is.
I enjoy your video content a lot! Subbed on day one of finding your channel. I really enjoy the style of your presentations. I feel like it's just an informal discussion each time and i also like your points of view on the topics you discuss.
Airplane Academy went well my landings still need help wind was gusty 26 knots had a 10 degree cross wind I think tomorrow’s flight will be better with less wind
Airplane Academy today’s flight did some power on and offs and got my energy management down to the T and now have a check ride Friday then will be able to go solo and start cross country training getting close to ppl can’t wait.
great stuff brother👍👍👍, I just got my first solo done over the weekend, Im looking forward for some great adventures. thank you for all those great videos. keep up the great work.
CONGRATS on your first solo, that is so so awesome. Keep momentum up to finish the license! Excited for you and let us know when you pass the checkride.
I've been binge watching your videos tonight as I just discovered your channel and it is AWESOME!!! Well you are awesome at this and just a great guy all around I can tell. Anyway I wanted you to know that you are providing a great value to anyone interested in GA at probably any level, most of all those just getting started. I've not only subbed to the channel but I've been saving all these videos as they are so full of great reference info for later to look back on. I'm not even close to being a pilot but a lifelong enthusiast since my earliest flying experiences as a kid. I recently re-caught the bug of planes and flying and I wish I had someone like you to teach and guide me in my younger days to show me it was possible to actually get a license and even my own plane without having to make 6 figures a year. My dream was pretty much crushed early on by mere myths and bad info from those that really didn't know what they were talking about. That happens a lot in life unfortunately. Well for now I am living a bit vicariously through people like you until the day I do this myself. Sorry for the long winded rant. Just wanted to say thank you and I am very happy to have found you. :)
Thank you for the comment and I'm glad that the videos have been encouraging to you! Don't give up on the dream. It doesn't happen overnight but with time, effort, sacrifice, and patience, it's definitely doable. Rooting for you!
Thanks and glad to have you here! Congratulations on starting, I don't think you'll ever regret it! Incredibly fun thing to pursue. Keep us posted in the comments how things are going.
The before landing checklist is very difficult for me to remember. Especially when I am teaching a lesson or conducting a discovery flight. I constantly forget to turn on the aux fuel pump.
I'm an aviation/pilot enthusiast who never had time to get a license. However, your content is so good and helpful, I'm seriously thinking of it (albeit being 69 1/2, age may be a factor). Keep up the great work!
Hi John - thanks for chiming in, and glad you are enjoying the channel! Gosh, it's not too late to start! Age is a number and it's more a discretionary decision about your mental and physical faculties operating an aircraft. Don't let the number scare you. The best pilot I know is 70 and one of my very favorite things to do is go fly super cubs in formation with him on a weekend. If you have any questions along the way feel free to voice them here or reach out at airplaneacademy.com/contact - would be glad to help.
I love your videos so much. I’m so so glad I have found your channel! Fantastic guy, fantastic content, top pilot. Hope to continue seeing great content from you!
nicely presented with useful food for thought. Just happened to run into your channel, subscribed before the end of your video. thanks for the links. keep up the great work.
Another great video! I love your passion, knowledge, and concise way you present you aviation videos. If anyone out there is interested in aviation, this is a great channel to keep learning!
Good question... I have not really found a great solution other than turning their wifi/bluetooth off which helps a lot. I can usually get about 90 minutes that way. Some of the other aviation youtuber's I see will plug in external power to them so that it's not an issue. It just get a little more complicated when you want a strut mounted camera as well :)
Hey, hello from Montreal area, I am new to this channel (and yes...subscribed :-) ). I have fully enjoyed and appreciated your videos thus far and really look forward to more.
Very nice. I subed because you said so lol. I’m always on your page. Very nice very good work. I love it. Thank you for have great contact. Keep them coming.
Thanks Charlie this is great information. I look forward to more of this kind of content...and going back to view some of your older videos to relearn the content :)
AGREE about passengers, for my wife we just did a short pattern for her first trip up with me,, slow but sure when trying to make a lifetime passenger.....
I think you are right with the top two. Radio is one I have picked myself up on recently, my method of fixing it is to actually ask for a service rather than just going onto the monitring squawk (that might not be something you have in the USA but we do here in the UK when you put in a squawk code to tell ATC that you are monitoring the fequency). I live off check lists so have one for when I fly with a others, to make sure I check them out as well (it covers ask how they feel, what they want to see or do and also what I would like them to do, such as tell me if they see other traffic and how to do it, when not to talk and to ask questions). On your number one, even though I have a fair number of hour, I still try to keep up with keeping on top hence I subscribe to your channel and others with connent that helps me look at what I do (this gives me a chence to reflect on what I do, which is also the reason I video most of my flights and share so others can give their views or talk about the content and learn).
Love this video man! We all can tell how hard you work and you truly make a difference to a lot of people in aviation including me! Keep up the great work we need more people like you.
This was great. Thanks so much. Glad to be a subscriber. The "Unhealthy Pride" resonated with me because of two things my instructor taught me. 1) There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots. 2) Don't let your ego write checks your ass can't cash...
I just subbed after watching a few videos! Could you do a video about briefing non-pilot passengers please? I just got my license and I have no idea where to start! There’s so many things that I could go over If not a video, if someone could at least give me some tips on what to go over with them before we fly I’d greatly appreciate it!
Time to consider opening a channel store? Your logo graphic would look good on some products.....this time of year, long sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirt - vest.... Great content! Mark Norman
Thank you very much! Videos like this really help to get a „better“ Pilot!

As a new pilot in training I thank you for all this information so that when I do get in with my CFI and fly I can already be looking at what I can do to improve myself as a pilot and help my CFI as much as possible to train me.
Thank you and I'm glad you found it helpful!
Hi Anas - thanks for the compliments and I'm really glad you're finding the channel useful. I'll try to add in more b-roll!
Thanks for your wonderful programs and for your humble attitude. You are a blessing to all of us who are learning to fly.
I really appreciate that and am glad you've found it helpful!
Only 90 hour ppl and bought a bonanza! HI performance and complex done. First few solo flights this weekend. Weather in Colorado is great right now. Heading to corpse crunchy Texas mid October vacation. Nerves are racked for my first long trip. Thanks for the videos
Congrats on the bonanza!! That is awesome!! You'll rack up some great memories and experience in that.
Love your videos. Please make more Educational videos like his. Thank you very much
Great advice! "DON'T EVER STOP LEARNING!"
This stuff is a great little addition to going to pilot school. I love all of the shots from your plane...so pretty.
Thanks! Glad you've found it helpful!
All great stuff to be doing! Valuable right seat time versus just staring out the window (but that's fun too!)
Another great video, Charlie. Thanks.
Although not aviation related, I can relate to all of the mistakes you listed. Complacency is the mother of all mistakes. We stop talking, we stop learning, we assume we know it all.
Glad you enjoyed the video! :)
Agreed. It’s hard for some to STOP talking...instead of LISTENING. THAT’S when we really learn..
Great info. Thanks for investing in the aviation community with this type of content.
Sure thing! It brings me great joy to be able to do this. Glad you enjoy! :)
Your videos are excellent-well informed, positive, encouraging. Thank you!
Thank you SO much! I really appreciate it. Glad you like the videos, too!
Yeah dfw winds were pretty strong yesterday
Daycab Dave yeah here there was just a huge spread between the gusts, at least for a 152 and a low time pilot. It was a really tough decision, but I believe the right one.
Hoosier Pilot yup never exceed your personal limits. I’m a real low time pilot have little over 20hrs lol. Heading to KILE now to fly with my instructor.
Daycab Dave for sure! Safe flight friend!
Hoosier Pilot thanks
My favourite fixed wing channel brother I am learning so much every time. Everything’s a bit different in Canada but I’m coming to Oregon in May for my helicopter ifr cfi and cfii
Awesome! Thanks a bunch that means a lot. Glad you've found it helpful!
Really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. Expect for their value to increase as I am about to start flight school.
Nice!! Congrats!! Let me know how it goes. Glad you enjoy the videos!!
GREAT channel! I’m a 182 owner as well as a corporate guy based in OSH. Great content and spot on analysis. Blue skies
Thanks Scott! I'm sure you love your 182 just like me. Awesome planes.
Charlie.
If you find yourself in Central Florida and still haven't had the chance I'll gladly take you up
Thank you for that offer I really appreciate it!
I always use the IMSAFE checklist as part of go/no go decision making.
Sensible advise for all students. Your videos are a must for the student airport class room
Wow! Thanks so much for saying so!
Good job mate,
nearly finished my PPL only 10 hrs to go, So just complete a couple of my first solo's and the check list is something that i have noticed i am only skimming over now. These videos are good to hear some of this stuff for me to keep my eye on and be proactive to make sure i don't become complacent.
You got my Sub
Hi Zac - huge congrats to you for solo'ing!! So exciting. Agreed, checklist is easy to get lax on. Let's all stay disciplined about it!
I don't have a license yet I haven't even started Flight School. I will be starting soon. But I can tell you every one of your videos I watch I feel like I'm getting a ton of useful information.
Hey thanks James, hope it helps! Pumped for you to begin.
This is the stuff that helps so much thank you for showing these!
Sure thing! Glad they are helpful!
Subscribed today! Great videos, learning a lot. Matt (Wattisham, Suffolk, England)
Awesome! Pumped to have you as a subscriber and all the way from across the pond! Glad you are enjoying the videos. :)
This is the first video of yours that I have seen and you’ve definitely earned my subscription! Well done my friend! Love the video!
Awesome! Pumped to have you as a subscriber and so glad you enjoyed the video. :)
Excellent points! Thanks!
Excited for you
@@AirplaneAcademy Thank bro.
Just found your UA-cam page. I really enjoy the way you present your material. Although I have had my license for a couple of years (PPL), haven't flown a whole lot. Looking forward to getting back in the plane and learning from you. Keep it up
Thanks Chad! Really appreciate that. Hope you're able to get back in the air soon. Maybe I can nudge you in that direction :)
@@AirplaneAcademy Appreciate that. Right down the road from you. I fly out of KBAZ
Wow! Great content. I think I will binge watch your channel Christmas day.
That's awesome! What an honor! Thank you :)
Charlie, you are providing a wonderful service for the flying community. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Tim! I really appreciate it. I feel blessed to be able to do what I love.
Subscribed! Thank you for all your information. I’ll definitely be checking more of your videos. 👍🏻
Awesome! Glad to have you as a subscriber!
Thanks for the reminder!!!
Sure thing!
One of my favourite GA channels! Thanks for the Great work!👌🏼🙏🏼 Greetings from Germany✌🏼️
Awesome! I'm pumped to hear that. And wow- all the way from Germany!
Doing a great job!

Congrats on the mooney! You can get around quickly in that and check out new places.
Nice video, thanks mate. I think it just boils down to flying like a professional. Even if it's just your buddies on board, behave like it's serious business, 'cos it is.
Great advice!
I enjoy your video content a lot! Subbed on day one of finding your channel. I really enjoy the style of your presentations. I feel like it's just an informal discussion each time and i also like your points of view on the topics you discuss.
Thank you for saying so! I really appreciate it and glad to have you as a subscriber.
I’m going to try the energy management today landings are my weak point I can land but not pretty some are but I flare to much
My last landings were not great, I too am going to focus on energy management the next time out.
How did it go?
Awesome. Let me know how it goes!
Congrats on your solo!
CONGRATS on your first solo, that is so so awesome. Keep momentum up to finish the license! Excited for you and let us know when you pass the checkride.
Airplane Academy will do! Thank you for taking the time to answer.
Excellent video Charlie!
Thank you! :) Glad you enjoyed.
hey man great video! i subscribed. Im trying to start flying lessons... hopefully soon... Im in Texas too. this cooler weather is such a relief!
Thanks and glad to have you here! Congratulations on starting, I don't think you'll ever regret it! Incredibly fun thing to pursue. Keep us posted in the comments how things are going.
Thanks brother. You’re really good at what you do.
The before landing checklist is very difficult for me to remember. Especially when I am teaching a lesson or conducting a discovery flight. I constantly forget to turn on the aux fuel pump.
Easy to happen. I still forget it from time to time, which is why I emphasize it in this video. We all need to be using it!
Thank you Charlie! Your content is really helpful
I'm so glad!
Thanks very helpful information. great to follow your advice and knowledge
You're welcome! Glad it is helpful. :)
Very practical advice put forth in a helpful way.

I really appreciate your kind words! I love creating these videos and love that they resonate with you.
Excellent video. Subscribed.
Nice! Thanks so much. Pumped to have you as a subscriber!
I love the content and want to record my training sessions to study later on! Any advice for keeping gopros on with such a short battery life?
Good question... I have not really found a great solution other than turning their wifi/bluetooth off which helps a lot. I can usually get about 90 minutes that way. Some of the other aviation youtuber's I see will plug in external power to them so that it's not an issue. It just get a little more complicated when you want a strut mounted camera as well :)
Hey, hello from Montreal area,
I am new to this channel (and yes...subscribed :-) ). I have fully enjoyed and appreciated your videos thus far and really look forward to more.

AGREE about passengers, for my wife we just did a short pattern for her first trip up with me,, slow but sure when trying to make a lifetime passenger.....
Very good video..
Thanks for the great videos. Too the point and referring to videos you did already. 👍

Incredibly well considered observations. Great job.
Thank you! I really appreciate it.
Great video Charlie !! - Thanks for all you do.
Thank you! I really appreciate it. :)
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words! Really appreciate it :)
Couldn't agree more. Thanks for watching!
I just subbed after watching a few videos!
Could you do a video about briefing non-pilot passengers please? I just got my license and I have no idea where to start! There’s so many things that I could go over
If not a video, if someone could at least give me some tips on what to go over with them before we fly I’d greatly appreciate it!
Thanks! And congrats on your license! I covered some of what you're talking about here.. hope it helps! ua-cam.com/video/qZsi7RlQft0/v-deo.html
Time to consider opening a channel store? Your logo graphic would look good on some products.....this time of year, long sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirt - vest.... Great content! Mark Norman
Thanks Mark! I appreciate your support. And yes, this is in the works! More to come there.
This is a very useful video! Thank you.
Sure thing! Glad it is helpful.
You need to get your CFI. You are great!
Thanks Mike! Really appreciate that. Really want to get that one day.
I’m subbed!! Love your channel 👍👍
Awesome! Excited to have you and glad you love the channel!
