    4:43 “at its eastern end, the sun rises a full one hour and twenty minutes *later* than at its western extremity” are you sure about that? You’d think a big budget documentary would have known the sun rises in the east, therefore sunrise happens SOONER than it does in the west

    Imagine the time and resources they'd have saved if they *only* built the wall in places where horses could travel. That was is main purpose, so why bother building in areas where no army could have easily approached?

    • @loneranger9376
      @loneranger9376 10 місяців тому +4

      It was not such that an army could pass through, it was that several hundreds that could pass through even that could cause raids and pillage. In the end, the Wall was also a psychological warfare too.A Wall would be useless if there are gaps.

    Not overly impressed with this version. So much of what was presented is a rehashing of other documentaries I've seen on the subject. And, I must add, what is the significance of having Jean-Marie Gontier (8:50) as a qualified spokesperson for the Great Wall?

    We save money buy making glue using rice
    The rice are cooked and adding a little bit water on hot water make it hard sticky glue to stick paper
    It probably they use rice and hot water and some plants materials to make the mortar

    How many people died during this construction. Were all of them pay worker or just slaves? I am guessing most of them were just poor peasants forced to this slave work - not pay, just a bowl of rice.
    Chine are famous of this ... I am curios why nobody talks here about it. I am hearing only "ohh" and "ahh" - such a magnificent construction.
    It was built on lives and bones and blood of poor people there. You should be ashamed glorifying this !!!!!
    It should be classified as an exhibit of crime against humanity.

      This as been how things were built for thousand of years, that only slowly change in the last 200 or 250 years. You think that the men building St. Peter’s of Rome made fortune?

      More native Americans killed by USA government than people died building the great wall.

    • @La7arus
      @La7arus 11 місяців тому +1

      @@patrickols Those who built St. Pete's did not make a fortune, that is true, but they were not slaves. They could choose to work or leave. Those in China, did not have that. They worked as slaves from generation to generation. They fed them to keep them going not for goodness of the heart.
      People from East do not value life of any individual. Life is cheap there.
      All the worst crimes against humanity were committed in countries of the east. See Stalin, Mao, Red Khmers etc.
      Adolf, compering to them is just small insignificant bug. They killed in hundreds of millions of their own !!!
