Greenstalk is an outstanding product. I purchased my first in March after watching your videos. I use the extensions to grow & support my Zuchini and sugar snaps bush and pole beans. I have cantaloup, onions, carrots, radishes, Quinoa, Zatar, numerous herbs and flowers. The hummingbirds in my yard drink out of the top water container. I now have 2 orginal [deep ones] and 1 -5 tier leaf. They rest on the concrete pad outside the back of my apartment.
in the back of your yard area, is now converted to mostly grow bags for my other crops. Thank you. Kevin for your books and all information on growing. I have been growing my own food for over 40 years, {every where I have lived}. The desert in Palm Springs ,CA and the arctic desert in Faribanks, AK have been the hardest two of ten states I have grown food.

Last year, my fiancé and I started a garden. Went WAY over our heads with how much space everything needed so we had to add on this year. But last year was such a big struggle for us. So many bugs that we never saw on our property before that destroyed our squash and zucchini. Or the worms that ate the cabbage. And don’t get me started on the poor tomatoes! We’ve made a lot of progress so far this year and hoping to continue with that. We ran out of room for some of our plants so we’re planting things in random spots just so they live right now, but that’s what you get when the excitement for more plants takes over 😂 we are just very glad that we found your UA-cam page. We’ll be gardening together ❤️

    • @WinsomeWinslet

Plant petunias at the base of all your squash, zucchini and cucumber plants to deter those little monster bugs. It works like a charm. Also, a bottle of BT saved all our cabbages this year. Just spray at night and after heavy rains and you'll be so happy you did. :)

I'm here in Beaumont, CA and I have the Green Leaf 5 tier, but added 1 Original Tray at the bottom. This year I have herbs, a leek, flowers, and 18 dwarf heirloom tomatoes - 6 of 3 different varieties: Bendigo Rose, Clare Valley, and Banana Toes. Because it is so very windy here, I put a garden stake down the middle hole and bungee corded it to my covered patio. It is extremely well built and I urge anyone who buys one to also get the Greenstalk Mover, which is the wheeled base. My biggest issue is that it was drying out so much that I was having to water several times each day. I suspect my soil has too much peat moss in it. So, to circumvent the issue, I've connected drip irrigation and now it is too wet! The drip irrigation is fixable though! People in other zones will probably not have the 9B heat and wind that is experienced here. I do recommend this vertical system over others (I didn't want the vermi-compost one). I edited this to add -- 25 years of gardening is just a great start! I'm gardening for twice that long!

I have a 4.5'x8' "deck' on my apartment. I started out planting large leaf house plants and moving them to the deck becasue is would reduce the temperature. My dog loved lying out there and doesn't have much tolerance for heat from direct sunlight. The shade and cooler temp provided by the plants were just what he needed. He is 80 lbs with lots of fur. Next year I expanded out feeling my chili head roots by building a shelf and planting super hot peppers in grow bags. This year my home bound neighbor wants me to use her deck and the property managers said I can plant along the building and on a sloped hill side by my building where I will plant squashes, tomatoes, Brussell sprouts and others. I tried planting squash in grow bags on my deck but my dog ate them. The GreenStalk Garden looks like an interesting system becasue for me watering can be challenging. Keep up the great videos.

holy crap, kev!! i got my seed trays in a week or so ago and planted some flowers. they dont even have their first true leaves yet and the roots are already filling out the cell!!!! these are amazing i could have never imagined the slits and just the design of a seed tray in general could make such a big diff. to say its worth the price is a severe understatement. in fact, i’d go so far to say these are cheaply priced for the build quality and effectiveness in the garden. life changer lmao 👌🔥

This system is so cool. Being on wheels makes it ideal for seniors like me. Can't do the 10 x 10 garden anymore - miss that. But with this system I can garden again. Thanks for sharing this info.

The Greenstalk garden does look to be fully thought out. My husband bought me a similar set from the dollar store. In looking at it I did notice I would probably have to water each tier. However I will now keep in mind sun loving plants towards the top. Thanks.

I bought a GreenStalk a few weeks ago (OK, I got my family to get it for me for Mother's Day) hoping it will solve my disappearing strawberry problem. My chipmunks ate all our strawberries last year. So this year, I was thinking I was going to have to build a cage for my strawberries, but then I remember seeing your system with beans in it a while ago, so instead I bought the 7-tier Leaf system and have filled it completely with strawberries. I'm hoping the chipmunks won't be able to climb the smooth plastic.
I also heard something about painting rocks red and putting them out before the strawberries were ready to trick the animals. I haven't had time to paint rocks, but I had a bunch of red bottle caps that I've adding the my plants, hoping anything will work.

Hey Kevin…. You steered me towards the birdie bins and I was the one that found them also in Canada under a different name and I thank you kindly for that. But I cannot find these Green Stalk Vertical planters anywhere. There are many knock offs as I have one or two but I would like this one it seems to be a much more efficient and better system. I never tire of your videos and it’s always nice to see your smiling face.

Ooh! Due to the limited amount of sun the back yard gets (north-facing, surrounded by trees), I've been choosing crops that give me themost bang for my buck, so to speak. A tower like this would really enlarge the choices I can make!

I went to the GreenStalk website to pick up the five tier tower, and they don't ship to Canada. :( I hope they get a distributor here at some point.

I'm hoping to get one for strawberries soon! I am trying to grow more of our own food to save money, help the planet, and help us eat better. Also my 3 year old is really getting into helping and it's making her more open to trying new foods if she helped grow them!

I just replanted my two original green stalks today. 12 bought Seascape Strawberry plants, 12 bought lettuce plants, dill & 2 types of thyme, 6 pepper plants, 12 cucumber seeds (Parisian tiny), 12 home-sown lettuce plants, and the last three levels with a divvied up mint plant, two tarragon plants, and chives. Life is good! I could do with 3 or 4 more green stalks, but I digress... I have one ring of the extender thingies, and I put it out there for the Parisian cucumbers. Rainbow Gardening channel has a lot of info about how to use these, in combo with the tag/label item.

I bought the garden tower project vermacomposting tower last year & had limited success. I did it indoors and it was bombarded with different pests, I tried neem oil & other things to no avail. It was just a battle all season long & the tower suffered a lot of casualties lol. I just filled it again yesterday for the new season, placed it outside this time. Hopefully I have better luck this year 🤞 I really want one of these towers because of the watering system.
