Ok, a small nitpick; Hades (the underworld) was not just a place for the damned, everyone who died went to Hades, and within you would find their equivalents of both Hell and Paradise.

@@Raximus3000 Indeed. Though some accounts state that Tartarus is a seperate realm that is even further down than the underworld. In the Illiad it said to be "as far beneath Hades as heaven is above earth."

    • @Xbalanque84

Beat me to it. Much like in Mesopotamia, Hades was just the realm of the dead, where everything that died ultimately ended up. Punitive/rewarding afterlives (Tartarus/Elysium respectively) were later developments in Greek history, and one's moral character had little bearing on the fact you went there eventually. The later developments were also designed specifically for certain select mythical dramatis personae who either *_really_* pissed the gods off or heroes.
A similar parallel can be seen in the Aztec Mictlan. To the Aztecs, one's fate after death was determined by how one died, not morality. Barring a few specific modes of death, the vast majority of people went to Mictlan, the dark cavernous underworld of Mexican tradition. It was a perilous journey that would take years, and during which the dead would have their flesh stripped off at the threshold of Mictlan by a wind of flint knives. And like Mesopotamia and Greece, the dead in Mictlan just kinda stagnated in the dark for eternity.

Alot of people do not know solar religion or the creation-myth-law. The solar religion is the projection of the solar cycle and the zodiac overlapped with human mind-set. There was a rearangement and elaboration of human behaviour and reduction of moral after the Bronze Age Collaps. Inanna from the Sumerian mythology was the path of the sun and the moral growth of mankind and the female role for women. These teaching that originate from the Scythians and adapted plus written down by the Sumerians would be altered and replaced during the semitic Akkadian period. Inanna turned into Ishtar and teachings became obscured for the non initiated.
A part of creation-myth-law is a symbolic philosophy of the moral of the human mind. Example is found in Inanna and the Huluppu tree were Lilith is chased away. This the conversion of the infant-mindset to the adult-mindset. Further there are symbols present. Example: Inanna has two measuringrods with rope, one for man and the other for the woman. These are not named in the Akkadian poems in her Descent to the Great Below. They are symbolicly drawn. Together they form phi, the begining and the end. Aka the golden ration of the Truth.
The explenation of several stages of thought is explained in the myth of An, Ki, Enki, Nanna, Enlil, Erekshigal. It explains primal thought towards revined planning and eventually affermative action.
The myth of Inanna explains among a few the path of enlightenment. Read up on mystery schools. Inanna grows into an adult mindset, she is eventually stripped naked, aquiers all there is to know, reborn, knows moral, and judges accordingly therefor she is named divine something in the Sumerian poems no other diety is referred to, hereafter she can create heaven. This solar religion of enlightement is adapted throughout the ages such like the story of Ishtar, Ashara, Asteroth, Artemis, Hera, Ausir/Horus, Krisha, Jesus, etc. They all show the same. Descent, wounded, aquire all knowledge, arrise/reincarnation/rebirth, renamed or 'unknown'.
Erekshigul, Queen of the Great Below, is the peronification of the earth, the place were all knowledge came from and returns to but this realm is devoid of spirit. The poems are about finding balance in thought and moral. Keep this in mind and reread these kind of mythology.

I have a nitpick: During the descent of Inanna, The reason why the gods try to get her back is because as Inanna is a goddess of fertility, nothing is reproducing and procreating. The gods create a being that is neither male nor female whose name is Asu-Shu-Namir. This is to take advantage of a loop hole in that “neither man no woman may leave the realm of Ereshkigal”. Asu-Shu-Namir meets with Ereshkigal and, entranced by their dancing and singing, the goddess beds Asu-Shu-Namir. Well they are laying in bed afterwards, Ereshkigal bestows a boon to Asu-Shu-Namir, who then asks her for a bowl of the Water of Life. Once given, Asu-Shu-Namir pours the bowl onto Inanna-Ishtar, reviving her and, allowing the pair to escape. Once Ereshkigal realizes the betrayal and, enraged beyond deescalation, curses Asu-Shu-Namir and all those like them.
"The food of the gutter shall thou eat. The water of the sewer shall be your drink. In the shadows you shall abide, despised and hated by even your own kind!"
As Asu-Shu-Namir is seen in the modern day as the first recorded nonbinary being, followers of Inanna-Ishtar such as myself have surmised that this curse is the reason why queer people are so maligned and despised by society, especially transgender and nonbinary folx.

Imagine if Islam didn't exist, the middle east would have turned like India with 360 gods and goddesses still being worshiped.

2 Peter 3:3 Above all you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come scoffing and following their own evil desires.

The Lord is coming! Amen. God is merciful. He always forgives. Never be ashamed to take your failures to him. He is for you, not against you! God is with you in the storm. He knows your troubles, he hears you! He is for you, on your side, always! It may feel silent at times, but he’s holding you close! May the Lord return soon! We are drawing closer. He is coming! Believe and trust in the Lord, you will be saved. Period. May the Lord bless you all! Hang in there family. Stay strong. It is not easy following the Lord. We are scoffed at. We give up our earthly dreams, our fleshly desires. What the enemy offers is short lived, but heaven is forever! Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. Things may get better or worse for you, but a kingdom awaits you! Finish the race! Repent daily and carry your cross. This world is fading fast. Your troubles are temporary! New channel here, I’d appreciate any kind of support. Don’t give up! God loves you so much! So do I. The Lord bless you!
