I agree 100% with your statement that we are not addicted to the actual sugar but rather to the way that sugar makes us feel and our association with what it"does" for us (comfort, reward, etc). I struggled with a food addiction for years and now that I have been free from it for over a decade I can see how much misinformation there is out there about what food addiction and sugar addiction actually is that unfortunately keeps people fixated on abstaining from certain foods and sticking to certain eating plans instead of taking the steps to truly get free from all of it. Thanks for this valuable video ❤

If you watched this video and thought “no way”, there’s no hope, I can’t ever break my food obsession- I’ve tried, I can’t. Then I completely understand how you feel- bc I was there too! I thought no one go it; I woke up thinking about food, I went to bed thinking about food = food consumed my life. It was this way for decades, and then I met Lucie. In less then one year she walked with me, guided me and encouraged me as I changed my whole relationship with food. Lucie can’t do it for you, but when you are truly ready to change she’s the best person I know to help.
    * Yes, I had tried countless other nutritionists too, trust me Lucie is different in all the best ways.
Thanks to my sessions with Lucie I don’t even think about food unless I’m grocery shopping or if it’s time to make my next meal. I still have work I want to do but, food no longer controls me and this is a freedom I wish for everyone.💝

Thanks for this video! I've never tjought of that this way. And I used to be that person who HAS TO eat something sweet everyday. So mostly I ended up eating bag of cookies or whole bar of chocolate at the end of the day...
I went on a holidays last year and at the breakfast there was really few thibgs that I liked and at the end of every breakfast I used to eat a croissant with a nutella and what happened? I stopped craiving sweets, even ice creams 😍

I used to have somewhat of a sugar addiction, which I referred to as a "sweet tooth." I lived somewhere where sweets weren't available for a few years, and after that sugary foods didn't taste the same to me. Now I will occasionally have something sweet, but I prefer things like dark chocolate.

I just cut sugar out cuz I didnt want sweets and it was the worst thing ever for my blood sugar. It got too low. 😭
Now I know to have a slice of cake or something sweet in the morning (when I usually have low blood sugar) but this was just me.
Sugar addiction is a real thing and if you don't have any issues with your blood like me, it's best to cut your sugar intake down if you have a lot of it.

I would be careful suggesting that children should also be allowed moderate regular portions of all the junk food they crave, so they won't binge on it when they access it once in a while. The problem here is that all fast food/junk food/sugary food, in other words processed food, is DESIGNED to make us crave more and more. We're fighting something un-natural, something meant to create huge cravings. This is much harder to fight, especially for children, than for example homemade cookies and other homemade deserts. Just my opinion.

Interesting! My daughter is 4 (and I should say I have an out of control sweet tooth so I am not a good role model!) and has almost unrestricted access to chocolate and biscuits (because she can now open the cupboard herself and when she was younger I always said oh well you can have a couple, but not too much) and I always have 1 mixed pot of chocolate chips and chocolate buttons and she only ever has a few tiny chocolates (like 5 or 10) and then she puts the jar away herself, satisfied for the day! The only thing she isn't very controlled about is icecream - if it was up to her she would have 3 a day! (but then thinking about it she doesn't have free control for icecream - a grown up has to get it out of the freezer for her)
