Harding was always going to be my best girl, this just made me feel vindicated. But since I plan on playing a reaper, I guess Luc is kind of a no-brainer... sucks for Bel.
Bellara seems a bit intriguing to me now… I wasn’t planning on using her much in my first playthrough as a warrior but I may give her a fair shake now. Taash seems kinda cool as well with the fire synergy. Looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds with these different characters
Thanks for this guide! I really wanted to be up and close with my magic/orb/blade and still be able to heal. Still very excited to try out different specs and may just have to bring another Mage along with me. Wanted to use Davrin and Lucanis first playthrough but absolutely can not wait to boot up game. Less than 2 hours left. Happy Halloween!
Question. With the Spell Blade specialization will you still have the reach to get some kind of healing ability? Videos I've seen don't look like you can get anywhere near the knight enchanter specialization style.
My man Dantics!! Thanks for the info. I think I want to be an evoker mage that specializes in ice magic, and crowd control. What companions would you recommend?
Envoker wants a Warrior, so I'd say Davrin. He can detonate or set up for you to detonate. Next is up to personal taste. If I had to min max, I'd say Nev for her cold resistance lowering.
Great video and awesome to see Harding is perfect for any and every build playstyle out there. I'm planning on going Rogue Rook for my 1st playthrough and will probably bring Harding and Taash as my main compaions, but till I get Taash it'll probably be just Harding and Bellara. Still not sure what spec to go with my Rogue since Veil Ranger no longer seems appealing in my eyes like your typical archer / ranger rogue spec. So might just go straight melee dual wield.
Thanks for content. Going to be Duelist Rogue on 1st Playthrough. Three questions: 1 - Where we can find your Necrotic Rogue build you mentioned with the picture in this and previous video? 2 - Planning to go with Neve and Emmrich all the time I can. Are they works good with the Duelist Rogue? 3 - Does it means that other companions didn't get any exp except while do their personal quests and we forced to play with them often to level up them?
It seems like you get Lucanis early on. Either he or Lace are going to be my rogue. When do you get Davrin, though? Seems like the tanks are unlocked way later.
@dantics Dumb question, but do you know if Rook can use transmog to get the looks of some of the companion armor? Lucanis' Crow's Tenacity is incredibly cool looking!
What I really want to know is if a certain major decision locks you out of romancing certain characters permanently. Neve and Lucanis in particular. So far I can’t find any answer.
I saw a TikTok about someone talking about fucking up on Lucanis but I haven't heard about Neve. I'm nervous coz that's who I want my Rook to be with lol
I'm assuming it does lock you out of the romance since it is harder to build a relationship with them if you choose the major decision that they didn't want!
I was thinking of going Mourn Spellblade for the extra afflictions with lightning and Fire primarily. So probably one of the warriors and bellara since she has lightning and heals. I was also thinking of Neve and Lucanis for a necrosis and ice supplement to the my affliction build. Do you think that would work?
Thank you for this guide! It's very well done, and very helpful! I'mm thinking of doing a bleed build with my duelist rogue, and was thinking of mostly taking Lucanis and either Harding or Emmerich. Thoughts on that?
FFS! 🤦🏻♂️ I’ve changed my mind so many times. Definitely Harding she’s going to be my love interest and she deserves to be taken care of. As far as my secondary I thought Eric would be a lot of fun or Tasha but then Bellara looked a lot of fun as well guess I’ll definitely be making up these 10 years😂
I'm on the fence between Archery rogue and dual wield rogue. Do you have a recommendation for which I should go for and which companions? I'm leaning towards Bellera for a intended romance
oh man i really wanted to play with neve and lucanis but i don´t want to have one hardend in my Party... First Playtrough i want to be a warrior Second as a Spellblade Mage can you recommend good Members? ( i donßt like harding...)
My guess is it's a holdover from when the game was live service. The idea being that to prevent solo players from cheesing their grindy live service structure the ai companions do very little damage. Of course in that scenario the solution was to play with other people and thus sell more copies, however they changed course to a single player game and had to rework their existing systems. That's my guess. The whole combat system looks so mindless and repetitive like a lot of live service games.
What a contradiction. The gameplay is whatever, but given that they said they wanted it more action based, holy micromanaging. I mean frick, they said companions would be fleshed out and fully automated, hence why they got rid of controlling them-BUT YOU'RE STILL CONTROLLING THEM! LOL Also why do so many of them just stand there and do nothing? I swear I saw every companion do 1-2 hits and then dance around the enemies or back up...what even is this game? 😅
Great guide, please give us more! I really hope that Bioware gives this game its all and saves the company! We need ME4, and I hope that Bioware doesn't drop Veilguard like they did Andromeda...
Remember when Dragonage conpanions would turn on you and kiterally try to kill you if you made horrific choices they hated? Thems were the good ol days. You had to really decide how you would act to keep certain vuys in your party.
Not only are the party members (specifically the females) ugly I don't understand how we went this bad from DA 0 and mass effect trilogy where even the aliens looked good, I see little reasons to go full build teammates characters when they can't even die. This throws a whole level of challenge out the window, no planning or building is necessary for survival except your own. That's a huge lost, might as well be an action game and go god of war route.
I hate to say it, but I can’t support this game. Games shouldn’t be a medium to preach to people. There’s nothing wrong with somebody wanting to be called they/them, but people shouldn’t be made to feel sorry or bad, when they call somebody that looks like a woman her, and somebody that looks like a man him. I have the game pre-ordered and everything, but canceled after I saw that clip.
@@Funky-Joe why do you think reviews even exist if according to you you can't know anything about a game unless you buy it yourself? But everyone who disagrees with you is just wrong is that it?

Dark fantasy like Oghren being drunk and horny 90% of the time ? Or dark fantasy as Alistair being an absolute goofball for the whole playthrough. Maybe you mean dark fantasy like Anders having full on conversations with Sir-Pounce-a-Lot ? Or Leliana wanting to go shopping for pretty shoes ? Now THAT is dark indeed
@@Goldussst dark fantasy as in the broodmother boss and storyline, the grey warden fortress and its messed up experiments with demons and corruption, the template having a meltdown and you being rhe only thing to save the makes from being purged, the betrayal of king at country in ostagar and the way King Cailin was propped up as a trophy by the darkspawn. @Goldussst very possible, after playing video games for 35 years one tends to lose track of how many hours one had put in, that said I do play through Origins and the Mass Effect trilogy at minimum once a year, so who knows. I do agree that there are lighter moments but the game was predominantly dark to me. As far as veilguard? It doesn't seem to be for me, but I'll watch the gameplay (no commentary) to see how it goes, then decide whether to buy or not. Fantastic Companion guide for Drafgon Age Veilguard.
I plan to use Neve and Taash, to compliment my rogue Rook character.

You don't have a self heal outside of very select gear pieces and your potions. Your companions can fill that role.
