In 2023, I returned to the game after a break of over a dozen years (I left off at Tibia ~8.6). I played for about 4 months, during which I joined a guild, bought a new character, and adapted to playing the "new way." Below are my observations and thoughts, which might be helpful for someone considering coming back: 1) The game is Pay to Win - For casual players, it’s great. You probably have a job now and earn money, so spending 30-70 EUR a month (including PACC) solves a lot of problems (if not all of them), and you can have a fantastic time. 2) PvP is dead. The new blessings mean that people drop nothing, and they themselves lose almost nothing. Combined with the new PvP system, killing someone or being killed doesn’t really matter. An entire guild is more likely to get red skulls from attacking you than you are to feel any “penalty” for dying. Currently, Open PvP servers are almost like Optional PvP. Supposedly, there are retro hardcore servers, but they seem pretty empty. In summary - if you love PvP, forget current Tibia. 3) PvE is fun - There are many new places to explore, and nowadays, the best experience is gained in teams because it’s more efficient and adds a social aspect you might remember from your youth. The gameplay style is genuinely faster, and sometimes there’s so much happening on the screen that you can’t keep track of it all. :) 4) The community has aged significantly - Today, if you join a guild Discord/Teamspeak, you’ll mostly encounter people aged 30+. Conversations are about adult topics - family, new cars, advice on which garage door to buy, and recommendations for theater shows. “Ogres” who only talk about how drunk they got still show up, but they’re a minority. So forget about high school “immature” vibes - phew! :) Those are the main changes. In my opinion, the game has aged well and matured alongside its fanbase. It’s definitely not for everyone - I stopped playing because of the PvP, but I had a great time during those 4 months.

You definitely should create more videos with new goals, I loved it! “Gz” on such good content! As a Tibian from 2003 who never stopped playing: thank you for that!
I'm an old player (started in 2007) that kept returning from time to time, mostly playing solo my main issue with tibia now is that the game became super focused on grinding levels, and basically before lvl 400 you are considered "low level" by new standards, yeah... we already have people over lvl 1500 now the game back then was super focused on the initial levels, for example you'd get all your spells at lvl 60 as a mage, even though we already had many lvl 400+ players and getting to lvl 200 could be done in less than a year, if you were focused, (I'm talking about 2010-ish here), also all gear was capped at lvl 100 with the exception being the royal crossbow which required lvl 130 I think... so everytime I get back to play I feel like the game is superfun, untill around lvl 200... which is when leveling starts to get hard (you go from getting 5+ levels a day, to getting 1 a day, to getting 1 every two days...) there are pretty much no "solo" quests after lvl 80 and they're all super hard for your level range, so you usually have to pay "services", like we used to for quests like pits of inferno and inquisition, which is fine, but still gives that feeling that the ONLY thing left to do after a certain lvl is to keep grinding for exp also they legalized character trade, just like houses you can bid on characters now, and if you win the bid the character gets put in your account and becomes yours... so it kinda killed that feeling of leveling my own character from zero nowadays if you talk to an active player he will lecture you on how it's 500% more economic to just buy a level 200~400 instead of leveling your own character from lvl 8 to there, and they're actually right, but bro... that's not how I like to play... I could buy a level 800 right now using my credit card, that wouldn't bring me any joy or achievement... so in the end I think the game just isn't for me anymore, and that's fine I got back into playing OT servers (alternate fanmade servers, but I think you already know) and even created my own where I play with some friends using hamachi and I can edit it freely to my taste
I'm an oldie as well, started in 1999.. But i still play now and then with my rl friends, as long as you don't take it all too seriously and just go out for big hunts with friends in voice chat its still the greatest game ever made and nobody can convince me otherwise ;P
Ohh dude thats the 10k quest right? I remember looking for people of the other vocations to do the quest with, being 1000% paranoid that anyway would kill me after doing the quest haha. great times
I understand how you think and how you feel regarding this "economic issue", as I came across it when I got back to Tibia one month ago. Although I could just buy a high-level and well-trained character, I decided to just create my own Druid from scratch. It's never a waste of time if your goal is to have fun and not earn your place at the game's scoreboard.
@@DrMalbin tbh it's a very outdated function that only works for knights when they were trying to full tank, or mages because it doesn't affect damage from rods/wands there's also the yellow icon that is "balanced fight" or something, meaning it's the in between option, but I only ever saw people using that when training skills, but it's the most useless stance out of all 3 lol
I started playing in 2006 and loved it!! I was 11 years old. Played some in high school and I'm 29 now and still come back to it every now and then. A lot of people just offline train a character for weeks or months while playing with another character
As someone who started to play Tibia in the early 2000's and still to this day play it - thank you. This game is amazing and I hope more and more new players will start to play it. Also, if you're 100% new, start on a non-pvp server and don't go down random holes unless you wanna end up dead, haha.
a couple years ago I saw a couple friends playing this game, i understood absolutely nothing, but this video help me get a better view of the game. nice video!
this guys narrating was enough for me to love the video. I played Amera from 2000 to 2004 then quit until a couple years ago. they game is very different but still the same. solo hunting does seem not as fun. but party hunting with your friends is great. my pally is level 653. i remember in 2001 when it would take you a week of hunting just to get from 30, to 31. bow even aat lvl 653, i can level up in one day lol. still, the game is awesome. especially when you get a couple RL friends to play
@@Tibiafy this is my opnion, Tibia has almost endless "end game", yet you dont feel frustrated because you are not level 2000 You feel good at level 30, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, wherever you are, you enjoy that moment, and during MY gameplay I dont feel the impact of PW2 at all, people just repeat these mantras nowadays without thinking. Yeah you wanna spend $1000 to train your character faster? Go ahead, I dont mind
You could still visit rookgaard. Not with a new account, though. You need at least one character in the mains continent to have inigo transport you to rookgaard and then to the isle of destiny.
Tibia coins are not that bad to be honest. You can grind gold yourself and buy tibia coins with gold from the market. You can buy everything in the store with TC including premium, outfits, unique house decorations and such. XP boost is a bit shit tho ngl, but if you make enough gold/h you can buy tibiacoins and buy the xp boost. You also get a free 30min boost every 7 days on your login streak.
I started in 2003 on Antica. Its changed a lot and unfortunately for the worst in my opinion. I think at a low level it’s not bad but at higher levels it’s really pay to win. I too miss the sense of community, yelling to train and making bps of Uh to sell at 3k.
Video echt leuk in elkaar gezet! Kom maar door met part 2... ;)
Yoo thanks!
I'm Polish and I have a level around 550 knight and 350 paladin. Back when I played helping newbies like this was one of my favorite parts of the experience, seeing genuine joy in someone struggling. I also actually learned Portuguese because of a person I met in Tibia so now I am fluent in both main Tibian languages! Truly a unique game
This game was a classic in my time, around 2008-2011. Many of my friend at the time played non stop. Me, one of the few that didnt have internet at the time just watched them grind haha :( but i did play a pokemon version later on which was damn cool ! I remember there used to be so much fight in lan houses because of cheating, account hacking and so on haha
I played since 2000 😅 was so amazing back in the day! Antica, Rubera. Did the first ever poi win when it came out! For a 2-D game with no sound it’s been apart of my life. no other game has PvP or death penalty like tibia, it means something when you die.
Such a great video man! But you baaaaaaarely scratched the surface! Tibia has soooo much content these days, and it's actually pretty good! You don't have to pay to win anything to do whatever you want.
All mmorpgs are pay to win or pay to enjoy to its fullest now, tibia has a very small player base and CIPsoft still update the game regularly, us players of tibia are happy to pay here and there to keep the game alive. Its the oldest MMO and its a part of internet history, it deserves to be kept alive and preserved as much as possible. I hope to see tibias 50th anniversary one day. I first played in 2001/02 and i still return regularly to play again.
Ah, the nostalgia is real! Tibia has such a unique charm that sticks with you, even after all these years. It’s amazing to see how it’s evolved but still holds onto that old-school magic. Thanks for taking us back down memory lane-Tibia will always have a special place in my heart too! 🛡️⚔️
watching a tibia video with the runescape background music.. holy thats nostalgic asf ! 2 games i played at the peak of their popularity. The good ol days
Yoo nice video, will you update more tibia?. That would be great I like those videos. Specially de ones from people who is coming back. That gives me nostalgia dude. I remember me spreading blood, sweet and tears killing my first demons skeleton or my first orc berserker back when I was 9 years old.
I started playing in 2004, when Tibia was very popular in Poland among teens. Stopped playing in 2008 when Cipsoft destroyed the game with all the updates. I still watch old Tibia videos on UA-cam for that nostalgic feeling. This came up my in my recommendations too - I couldn't be bothered installing Tibia again and going back into it starting from zero, so respect xD
I saw it and thought one thing. I have to log into my old account and play around with it again or even start from the beginning. Is that worth it? What do you think? Have you started again in the real Tibia?
@@DrMalbin I have just started writing to the people at CipSoft. You have motivated me and now I would like to make contact with them and have a look at the company and talk to the old people who are responsible for the game. Unfortunately, I can no longer access my old account because it is now with an e-mail and no longer with the account number as before. I had even created a new account but unfortunately I no longer have it either...what a shame.
Its funny how you started playing is still the mindset of oldschool tibia, the same happened to me coming back for a quick peek. Nowadays there are so many things to collect from low level monsters that you can have the best gear from early days tibia at lvl 20.
I still play it haha. Definitely had long stretches of breaks and everything, but I play with a good group of friends on a chill quiet server. Currently a 1055 rp. Everything is a lot different but still really fun if you play with the right people.
Recently started selling everything for TCs lol Cant wait for their token to launch so i can get some of my money back too, seriously, cipsoft is something else with CS, back in 2006 was "kind of okay" to be A* with their costumers but now is just ridiculous, there's many other games with same roguelike mechanics and much better costumer support.
when I got back to the game in 2017 I also set up goals like these. "I want to be a premmium account and get to hunt dragon lords". Then it evolved to hunt a demon, then do the hard quests... then... and then... didnt stop from there
How come you went to Uzgod at 6:25? For Yalahar quest for FACC you are supposed to find Wydrin’s Apprentice, it’s pretty clear in WIKI FANDOM quest spoiler
Tibia was the mmo of my youth and I played it for like 15 years, made tons of friends back then, those were the times. The games now lacks that sense of community it had, people do not quest together, it's sad.😢
Played Tibia on and off between 2006 and 2012. I was always a noob but I enjoyed low level PK anyways so it didnt bother me much. If I saw a Brazilian or Polish player, I would always try to respond to them in their language (I am Turkish and I bought Polish-Turkish and Portuguese-Turkish handbook dictionaries just for this game.) But if the other player was Swedish, I would run away because they were ruthless killers with no sense of mercy. At least Poles didnt want to kill one of their own. Swedes enjoyed killing everything. :D
Lol, your parents must've though that their son is going to become a real life super hero knowing all those languages xD Fdp means son of a b**** in Portuguese. Filho da pu**. Guess where I learned that lul!
Good times of being a druid in my tiny appartment in Thais, just killing sheep, trolls and making healing runes to sell or give to my friends.

there are pretty much no "solo" quests after lvl 80 and they're all super hard for your level range, so you usually have to pay "services", like we used to for quests like pits of inferno and inquisition, which is fine, but still gives that feeling that the ONLY thing left to do after a certain lvl is to keep grinding for exp
also they legalized character trade, just like houses you can bid on characters now, and if you win the bid the character gets put in your account and becomes yours... so it kinda killed that feeling of leveling my own character from zero
nowadays if you talk to an active player he will lecture you on how it's 500% more economic to just buy a level 200~400 instead of leveling your own character from lvl 8 to there, and they're actually right, but bro... that's not how I like to play... I could buy a level 800 right now using my credit card, that wouldn't bring me any joy or achievement...
so in the end I think the game just isn't for me anymore, and that's fine
I got back into playing OT servers (alternate fanmade servers, but I think you already know) and even created my own where I play with some friends using hamachi and I can edit it freely to my taste
I remember looking for people of the other vocations to do the quest with, being 1000% paranoid that anyway would kill me after doing the quest haha. great times
Pay to win sucks the fun of games. Why play a game and create a character when you can just buy it... this game went to the gutter.
@@AlaskanHuzky indeed, I stopped playing oficial Tibia around 2020, never went back
I understand how you think and how you feel regarding this "economic issue", as I came across it when I got back to Tibia one month ago. Although I could just buy a high-level and well-trained character, I decided to just create my own Druid from scratch. It's never a waste of time if your goal is to have fun and not earn your place at the game's scoreboard.
This makes me want to get the boys back together and start from scratch, thanks man!
Went on Lobera and they took everything off the market, even coins, it's the largest server in North America and it's garbage now. Good luck man.
300 ferumbra hats running around at all times
come to miracle 7.4 server xD it's solid
btw ur hunting with full defence! (the green shield icon near your inventory) Change it to full attack always
Oh fml it has been on full defense all time.. hours of my life i'm never getting back lol. Thanks for letting me know!
@@DrMalbin tbh it's a very outdated function that only works for knights when they were trying to full tank, or mages because it doesn't affect damage from rods/wands
there's also the yellow icon that is "balanced fight" or something, meaning it's the in between option, but I only ever saw people using that when training skills, but it's the most useless stance out of all 3 lol
@@findout-YGO Even knights use full attack these days since you get more life and mana leech from higher single target hits.
@@Awton true
@@DrMalbin LOL NOOB
Ah yes, the memories of being chased around by the Brazilian mafias 🤣.
😂😂 those were the days
Love this video lmao. Feel like you need a series of these with different goals 😂
I started playing in 2006 and loved it!! I was 11 years old. Played some in high school and I'm 29 now and still come back to it every now and then. A lot of people just offline train a character for weeks or months while playing with another character
Such great content! Tibia was my first MMO too! Good memories
Great video. Would be great if this becomes a series
As someone who started to play Tibia in the early 2000's and still to this day play it - thank you.
This game is amazing and I hope more and more new players will start to play it.
Also, if you're 100% new, start on a non-pvp server and don't go down random holes unless you wanna end up dead, haha.
And Yalahar is currently a facc area. Opened to FACCs like couple weeks ago.
I want a weekly tibia video as you learn about the new stuff they have added! :P
this appeared in my recommended and I loved it
You can change lighting settings to 100% bright.
Awesome video!!! Waiting for part 2!
a couple years ago I saw a couple friends playing this game, i understood absolutely nothing, but this video help me get a better view of the game. nice video!
Back when level 100 was something. Now level 1000 is nothing.
this guys narrating was enough for me to love the video.
Glad you liked it. And damn, 653 is a respectable lvl
very good video man, Tibia still pretty big in Brazil, i'm starting playing now for the first time, and i'm having fun
Greetings from pole which still plays tibia once per year for few weeks to get this nostalgic feeling kick in
Tibia runs in your blood and always will haha!
Tibia is by far the current best MMO and no one knows
No, it's not. How can a full pay to win be tbe best mmo lol?
@@Tibiafy this is my opnion, Tibia has almost endless "end game", yet you dont feel frustrated because you are not level 2000
You feel good at level 30, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, wherever you are, you enjoy that moment, and during MY gameplay I dont feel the impact of PW2 at all, people just repeat these mantras nowadays without thinking.
Yeah you wanna spend $1000 to train your character faster? Go ahead, I dont mind
You could still visit rookgaard. Not with a new account, though. You need at least one character in the mains continent to have inigo transport you to rookgaard and then to the isle of destiny.
Tibia
Surely it was a gem! And it still is in some way, but I don't think it'll ever be able to evoke the same feeling we had back then
Tibia coins are not that bad to be honest. You can grind gold yourself and buy tibia coins with gold from the market. You can buy everything in the store with TC including premium, outfits, unique house decorations and such. XP boost is a bit shit tho ngl, but if you make enough gold/h you can buy tibiacoins and buy the xp boost. You also get a free 30min boost every 7 days on your login streak.
amazing video ! make another tibia video bro !
Thanks! I sure will
Great Job & Welcome back 😂
Thanks 😅
I started in 2003 on Antica. Its changed a lot and unfortunately for the worst in my opinion. I think at a low level it’s not bad but at higher levels it’s really pay to win. I too miss the sense of community, yelling to train and making bps of Uh to sell at 3k.
This is such a good video, good job man!
Thanks a ton! Glad you enjoyed it
Video echt leuk in elkaar gezet!
This video was so fun to watch! Makes me wanna play the game too 💯
I always make my first set selling Chicken Feathers every time I go back to playing LMAO
That was dope. I miss tibia. It truly has changed. It almost makes me want to take on a similar goal list just for the nostalgia
You should!
This video is gold, I remember back in 2005 when I started my first journey in tibia!🎉❤
Make a part 2 please! Road to 100, kill your first demon, annihilator quest etc!
It's good to see returning players.
I was like you, when I returned I started from nothing and now I'm at level 465.
Yoo nice video, will you update more tibia?. That would be great I like those videos. Specially de ones from people who is coming back. That gives me nostalgia dude.
I remember me spreading blood, sweet and tears killing my first demons skeleton or my first orc berserker back when I was 9 years old.
Keep doing videos about tibia bro, the best mmorpg ever ❤️
I started playing in 2004, when Tibia was very popular in Poland among teens. Stopped playing in 2008 when Cipsoft destroyed the game with all the updates. I still watch old Tibia videos on UA-cam for that nostalgic feeling. This came up my in my recommendations too - I couldn't be bothered installing Tibia again and going back into it starting from zero, so respect xD
I saw it and thought one thing. I have to log into my old account and play around with it again or even start from the beginning. Is that worth it? What do you think? Have you started again in the real Tibia?
I had a lot of fun, with a bittersweet aftertaste
I was hoping that the full defense would get corrected at some point.... LOL
Nope :) the hardcore life chose me
amazing video thank you so much, keep up the great work
I still play it haha. Definitely had long stretches of breaks and everything, but I play with a good group of friends on a chill quiet server. Currently a 1055 rp. Everything is a lot different but still really fun if you play with the right people.
Recently started selling everything for TCs lol
Cant wait for their token to launch so i can get some of my money back too, seriously, cipsoft is something else with CS, back in 2006 was "kind of okay" to be A* with their costumers but now is just ridiculous, there's many other games with same roguelike mechanics and much better costumer support.
I was wondering if i should get back to tibia, stopped playing 3 years ago but spent around 15 years playing this game, thanks for the vid bud
when I got back to the game in 2017 I also set up goals like these. "I want to be a premmium account and get to hunt dragon lords". Then it evolved to hunt a demon, then do the hard quests... then... and then... didnt stop from there
This video made me want to play tibia again
i love this game!!!! great video
Thanks! Tibia will always have a special place in my heart too
Yoo big up Niezapominajka :D ahh gralo się kiedyś 😂❤
I don't know who you are bro, but I like this story
my polish sugar daddy 🤣🤣🤣 great video dude
Thanks!
Actually looks like something I'm interested in.
We want more Tibia!!!
Excellent vídeo!
Thanks!
How come you went to Uzgod at 6:25? For Yalahar quest for FACC you are supposed to find Wydrin’s Apprentice, it’s pretty clear in WIKI FANDOM quest spoiler
It was also my first MMORPG, it gave me PTSD :P
Nice video ! im also trying to upload tibia videos having fun, started tibia when i was 7 :D Tibia basically taught me how to read in english xD
I still remember telling “Tak” to everything Polish players asked. I also remember telling “fdp” to Brazilian players. No idea what fdp means :D
Lol, your parents must've though that their son is going to become a real life super hero knowing all those languages xD
Fdp means son of a b**** in Portuguese. Filho da pu**. Guess where I learned that lul!
Beautifel narrating
Thanks! Glad you liked it 😃
You sound Dutch, I am Dutch.
I still have a character in Peloria, I can help you out anytime :)
Lovley!
the best start should be swamp trolls or amazons, money nowadays is way easyer to get even at low level.
Yeah always go venore, south for swamp trolls, north for Amazon camp and great place for boats to all other cities.
Need more tibia videos.. lvl 100!
Greetings from Poland !
🙋♂️
Good times of being a druid in my tiny appartment in Thais, just killing sheep, trolls and making healing runes to sell or give to my friends.
I quit Tibia at around level 450 a few years ago :-) feel like I did all that was Tibia and nothing more new to do. Got all the imbuements which kind of felt like... I was just done
You can still travel to Rookgard from Dawnport, it wasnt removed.
You actually can get to Rookguard. You have to ask the npc in the bottom right corner of that temple about it and she will teleport you there
retro pvp is what you want if you want the unforgiving pvp aspect
Hmm not sure if want
still playing and updates twice per year are doing well job. there is so much content to discover :D
