    As someone who is VERY new to learning free motion using tear away designs, I appreciate you showing the whole thing as opposed to just a few minutes and then the finished product. This is what I need to see to give me ideas on how to move my quilt and try to keep the movements smooth. THANK YOU for that.

    You are greatly appreciated for your honesty! I find it totally mesmerizing watching you moving that quilt from one end to the other…I’ve really had no desire to try quilting on my machine but this has given me thought that I may like to try ! I always thought quilting was done by hand (because that’s the way I saw grandma and great granny do it)…I’ve done it by hand… then when substituting at grade school for many years, I met a teacher, now a good friend, that did long arm quilting and I started letting her do the quilting!!! I quickly learned to save a lot of time!
    I’m still learning new things by watching you! (72 years young😂)))) I’ve never use d any precuts… had no idea what the terminology was that I was hearing!
    Wishing you many blessings 🙏🏼!!!

    This has got to be one of the best quilting videos out there. You go into such detail in a calm way. Absolutely loved this video and that green fabric. Watching it 2 years later I know that fabric won’t be available any longer. Lol. I can’t wait to see more of your videos. Will definitely be ordering from Urban Elementz.

    Once again as a fairly new quilter you presentation inspires and build my confidence. I am doing this craft because I love it and enjoy giving my completed projects to my family and friends. I really get that we do not need to be perfect and we are not in a competition with anyone.

    I have a sweet 16 sit down mid arm, and this would be perfect for me! You did an absolutely wonderful job in filming this tutorial. I think this method would boost my confidence. I have dabbled a little bit with ruler work and I really enjoy it, but sometimes you just need a little bit of freedom. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you kindly and God bless.

      I am a first time quilter and starting from scratch with patchwork. Do you have a pattern for the Urban Stix quilt. I wanted to make it for my daughter’s bed (54 x 90) should be the finished quilt. I went out and bought the material before I knew what I wanted to do.

    With the tear away designs, do you recommend using the needle down feature on your machine, so when you pause (stop) to reposition your hands the quilt doesn't move & mess up the spacing of your stitches? Thanks for such a great video... Have really been learning a lot from you!

    Do you use a special type/size needle for free motion? Also, any recommendations for tension? Thanks for a great demonstration.

    • @urbanelementzdesigns
      @urbanelementzdesigns  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for your question, Lisa! No special needle or tension adjustments, but every machine is different. We recommend experimenting with what works best for you.

    To use tear away on longarm, would you spray baste each row separately and adhere to quilt while still on longarm

    • @urbanelementzdesigns
      @urbanelementzdesigns  7 місяців тому +1

      Yes, we definitely recommend spray basting. Otherwise the tear away would not stay in place if you were to just lay it on the top of your fabric. In most cases, start at top and work your way down. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

      @@urbanelementzdesigns
      Hello, guess I wasn’t clear on my question. Would you lay out each row on whole quilt, then load on longarm or better to do one row at a time, roll, then lay next row down. (Of course after each row has been spray basted)

    • @urbanelementzdesigns
      @urbanelementzdesigns  7 місяців тому +1

      @@susangoodman4853 Regardless of whether you are doing domestic or longarm, you really only want to place one sheet at a time. The reason is that the quilt will shrink up and it is easier to place after the quilting is done in that row. Also, it keeps the paper from ripping as you sew, as the paper is designed to be easy to tear away.

    How many sheets do you get in each packet?

    • @urbanelementzdesigns
      @urbanelementzdesigns  11 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for your comment! Each packet will include 4 tear away sheets, the size for each design will vary and you can find this information in the details for each item. When you find an item that you like, just click on the green circle with the + sign in the center and this will take you to the item’s details.
