My Pocket was pricey but has proven itself priceless, repeatedly, over the Decades. Word to new users, in Winter, keep it in your sleeping bag with you in the coldest times.

Just to put this out there. 35+ years Pocket Filter for me 2 to3 at camp. And i have 2nd filters still on the 1st one LOL. This is used all summer in canada. back then it was $260.00 can best thing i got for all my out doors.

Hiw safe are these filters from a microbiological angle. Would it be better to boil the filtered water. What about microorganisms.
In the lakes where i live in cumbria UK ive been advised not to drink from streams etc in case there is a dead sheep further upstream polluting thw water.

It is supposed to filter bacteria and protozoa but not viruses.

Life straw is another great filter. It lasts up to 1000 gallons which is great for the price. You can get them around $12 a piece if you buy a multipack.
What about nanoplastic do the second one
The Sawyer is said to filter 100% or microplastics.
