I've heard people call Redington a "cheap" brand. They're a less-expensive brand, with great quality. My casting style seems to work better with their actions. I can afford to buy the bigger (read: more expensive) brands, but I've got multiple Redington rods in various weights for the above reasons. Great review!
Bought a Redington Trout Field Kit over winter and just got into fly fishing this year and absolutely love it. I think I will be sticking with Redington for future purchases
I Love the Classic Trout. I find myself reaching for it before my Sage almost every time. How does this compare to the Classic? Thanks for another great video!
I have a closet full of Sage, Scott, G-Loomis, and Orvis rods. I bought a Reddington for my son to start flyfishing and it is an awesome rod! I will be adding some to my collection soon!
thanks for your thought and honesty into these reviews, as someone who is just starting on my fly journey after every other type of fishing for 36 years, this information is extremely helpful
My first fly rod was the Redington Path 5wt. I've caught thousands of fish with that rod. Trout, Crappie, Bass, Bluegill and others. I can horse in a 2 1/2 lb bass with this rod. I would love to try out this new Wrangler.
This is my favorite "Truck" combo to take along on any trip where I might be able to sneak in some fishing. Great setup. Line comes with pretty bad memory, so either fish it out or replace if you're in a hurry.
Hi Mike here from sunny Alberta Canada. I liked this episode so much that I have ordered a Wrangler #5. Christmas present from me to me lol. Slowly replacing my old two piece rods makes traveling a lot easier . Great show keep up the good work.

I very much appreciated this video. I grew up in MN live in ND now but want to get back in fishing again. Used to fly fish (never very good but loved it), so wanted to buy a new fly set up (looked at a bunch of places in mn and sd back hills) super expensive, but came across this video and ordered one. Long story short back at my moms in mn with my son found my old fly pole in the garage so me and my son are up north in mn fly fishing (teaching him how to), learning more and relearning myself but making memories!
2 rod companies I always recommend to beginners are Redington's and TFO. TFO because of the warranty but you're spending a bit more than the basic redington. The first fly rod I purchased for myself was back in 2006 and it was an old Redington 8ft 4wt for small streams and I still have it.
@@Madriveroutfitters Indeed, Path II is a lifetime warranty and you can purchase seperate sections. I have an extra tip for my 5 weight ( I paid $20 for it) so if I DO break it on a wily and sizable trout, I can continue fishing all weekend

would be cool to see you guys review something like the fenwick HMG or fenwick Aetos fly rods i personally own a fenwick aetos and love it for a 200$ rod
Thanks for the review. I thought the Redington Vice was a good rod for the money and I love the way it casts, but every time I put a reel on it, I’m irritated by the cheap reel seat. Either the reel is loose or I have to crank it down until I feel like I’m going to break the cheap ring that holds the lower end of the reel foot. This one looks far superior to that.

@mcglothlenchris4212 I havent tried the 8 wt, but I tried the 5wt Path II and the 5wt Field Kit. I dont know if the path rod I received was a lemon, but it could not cast the line whatsoever. I even switched the line out, was still terrible. Was frustrating because I spent soooo much time trying to learn on the path, I thought I was just a bad caster, but everything came to life as soon as I tried the field kit.
