    In a college humor video Aladdin wishes Genie to be human when he still had his ghost/genie tail in the lamp which causes a pretty squick consequence , here Genie become human with no flesh pain.

    I don't understand all this praise Jasmine was getting in the remake. She's getting praise for something she already was in animated form. plus, I got ticked when I found out she wanted to be Sultan. And just a minor nitpick, I think animated Jasmines jewelry looks better

      I think the praise is there because Naomi Scott acted the part well. She kept up the strength and individuality of the character instead of making her weak. I do think that some of the character was lost though. Apparently the creators thought that Jasmine “only wanted to get a husband” which is why they changed her to want to become Sultan. It’s people that really didn’t understand the character. Jasmine has always been strong and fit for rule in the cartoon. Even in the TV show they expand upon it with Jasmine being very capable and leading Agrabah and Aladdin being a bumbling idiot because of his up bringing.
      I liked Animated Jasmines earrings more but the necklace is nice in both so I don’t mind.

    I got some news there actually considering doing a Live-Action remake of Return of Jafar so even the direct-to-video sequels are being made into live-action. Now the online posts I read don't talk about Iago much so rather he'll go though his redemption arc or not is yet to be known

    • @Lytane
      @Lytane  5 років тому

      Oh no. That is some dangerous territory right there as most of the Disney sequels are pretty bad. Personally I don’t think return of Jafar was very good. They would have to change a lot of the plot as well because Iago was barely a character in the live action so he can’t be central to the plot.
      Thing is, is that I like the actors and I think if they made an original live action sequel I would very happy with that. Then they don’t get compared to the original and do their own thing. Still Disney, milking our money!!

    Much like the animated version Aladdin tricks Jafar into being a genie through Aladdin is a bit more subtle about it and Jafar though a bit smarter than is animated version to NOT say be a " Powerful Genie" but instead " Powerful Being." Because Jafar wasn't specific Genie used the gray area to turn him into a genie , now my question is does this mean that genies are more powerful than GODS ?

    • @Lytane
      @Lytane  5 років тому

      OR are Genies gods themselves? I mean Phenomenal Cosmic Power is pretty God-like. I hated how they changed that line though. It's such a dumb change that doesn't even improve the movie.

    Do you think instead of Will Smith , Jim Carry was instead cast to play the Genie as he's well known for playing comedian goof balls with the Mask being an already Genie like character ?

    • @Lytane
      @Lytane  4 роки тому

      I think Jim Carey could have been a great choice for the Genie because yeah, he did play a genie in the mask lol. But at the same time I think he would have been a lot closer to Robin and this people would have compared them more thoroughly. At least with Will Smith he is so very different (most of the time) so it’s a new take on Genie which I think is the better way to go about it.
      Still would like to see Carey as a genie though, the would have had so much fun lol

    It says. Take nothing but the lamp. Not touch nothing.

    • @Lytane
      @Lytane  5 років тому

      Does it? I know in the cartoon it says specifically TOUCH nothing which is why when Abu touches something it all goes wrong. The live action might have changed it to take nothing (I can't find it online to confirm) but when Abu TOUCHES the ruby it goes all wrong. It may clear up why they touched so much treasure and didn't get in trouble but ruins the end because Abu touching the ruby doesn't make sense, he didn't take it.

    • @thecodedgamer5227
      @thecodedgamer5227 5 років тому

      @@Lytane they filled the cave of wonders with treasure so that he had to touch treasure. Abu touched the ruby out of wanting to take it.
      Also remember that caseem was the first person he sent down there alladin was the second he didnt know if animals were allowed or not. Jafar is evil a psychopath and if the diamond in the rough died the cave of wonders would just someone else.

    • @Lytane

      @@thecodedgamer5227 I'm not sure I understand your first point. The Cartoon had the cave full of treasure but Aladdin doesn't touch it. The live action has the cave full of treasure and if they did change the line to take then it is ok if they do touch it, if they didn't change the line then the point in my video still stands.
      I said that in the review as well that maybe it was because Abu wanted the ruby that's what caused the cave to explode? But in the movie he touches it more by accident than anything else. He could have put it back, we don't see him actually taking it. It's just needlessly messy in the live action compared to the cartoon. The rules aren't consistent and as such it makes the scene less enjoyable.
      I always thought it odd that Abu was allowed in the cave but maybe animals do have different rules. I also wonder if there are multiple diamonds in the rough or if it is JUST Aladdin. If he died then no one could enter? Plus after the cave collapses Jafar can't get back into it and he believes the lamp lost to him.

    do you think the original Genie could have had kids too ?

    • @Lytane
      @Lytane  5 років тому +1

      I don't think so. I mean when Aladdin wished the Genie to be free he stayed, well, a genie. Still a magical being but now without as much power and with freedom. In the show he meets a girl genie and she still sees him as a genie so unless they can have kids together then I don't think he would have any luck with humans like Will Smith does.

    Iago was really underplayed as he didn't speak as much or often compared to his animated version and was just there , didn't have the sarcastic , schemey , loud , greedy persona , as this Iago seems to act like a real parrot as it was hard to tell what lines were supposed to be him pretending to be a real parrot to him showing his true self as Iago AlWAYS had the Braw speech and his relationship with Jafar seems NOT to be them being villain friends but rather more of a pet and his master as Iago acted like those white cats that are the pets for James Bond movie villains .

    • @Lytane
      @Lytane  5 років тому

      I didn't like the change to Iago either. I think in part is because they made Abu into a real monkey so they had to do the same with Iago. But in doing so you are right, he lost all of his personality and made Jafar more boring. He didn't have anyone to bounce off of, to monologue to or to joke around with. He doesn't interact with too many characters in the film so Iago helps flesh him out. Here though Iago is just a pet, poor bird!
