    My audio device is connected but doesn’t show in the drop down box and when I go to configure audio device it won’t let me choose that device. And there is no audio coming from the track on the screen when I press record. So frustrated. Help please.

    I just installed Studio One 5 and are having trouble with my interface. I am using a Mbox 2 interface and I can't get sound out of it. I am also using a mpk mini. I can get sound when I switch to Windows Audio, but when I switch to the interface I get nothing.

    I tried studio one on my iMac. I have the m-audio air 192/6 interface. When I tried to play, or record, or playback a software instrument, I got horrible pops and clicks. I tried adjusting the block size but it still happened. Any ideas? I run Logic no problem and ran ableton no problem.

    I'm hoping you can answer a simple newb question for me? I want to record accustic drum tracks, and need DAW. Will the Presonus Studio 1 do the job? (i have the Focusrite 18i20 3rd gen). If so, is the Studio one user friendly? I don't want to drop all the $ for Pro Tools, but still get quality recordings. Thanks!

    Very helpful. So the lower the number of samples, the harder your CPU has to work. Am I correct? I always thought it was the opposite.

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  4 роки тому

      No, you're right. The higher the sample rate you use, the more this will tax your processor. Or maybe you're referring to the buffer size...the lower this is the more it will tax your CPU as well.

    • @SjaakShirly6559
      @SjaakShirly6559 4 роки тому

      Quanta I was indeed referring to the buffer size (Device Block Size). Thanks for clearing this out. I am learning a lot from your video’s.

    Thanks for this! had a bit of trouble looking for the choice of my A/I.
    Just one ?, this should work for all types of A/I? like USB and other styles of Audio Interfaces?
    I finally got a Behringer UMC202 and my main thing was to get rid of the unintended volume risings in certain notes.
    I wouldn't do any automations (the ability to raise certain parts or the entire row) to a track/instrument and some notes sound like an amplifier was placed that I didn't do. Hope the A/I will kill that and be useful for not only Studio One 4, but in Ableton when I make the time to learn this DAW too.
    Still testing the little thing.

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  5 років тому

      The UMC202 should show up in Studio One. Just be sure that you install the driver/software that came with it!

      Connect your USB mic and then open Studio One. Go to the options menu and select the "Audio Setup" tab. Choose "Windows Audio" from the "Audio Device" drop-down menu. Click on the "Control Panel" button. In the following window that opens be sure that your USB mic has a check mark next to it in the "Recording Device" window. Click "Apply" and then you should be good to go.

    I also use a Scarlett Solo...
    Why do you set up a "Stereo" input, when the Scarlett Solo has one mic input and one instrument input? Can you record in Stereo with the Scarlett Solo?

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  4 роки тому +1

      You'd really not want to set up a stereo input to record a mic and instrument. The audio for both would be on one track and you wouldn't be able to manage the audio levels for your two different sources. You could potentially set up a stereo input if you want to record a hardware synth that has two 1/4" outs. But you'd then need one of the cables to be 1/4" to XLR to work with the solo.

    • @raygeorge9233
      @raygeorge9233 4 роки тому

      Quanta My question is, why did “You” set up a stereo input in the video on your Scarlett Solo?

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  4 роки тому +1

      I set it up so that people with more advanced audio interfaces could see how to accomplish this.

    Do you have any tutorials on connecting a regular keyboard like a nord to studio one

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  5 років тому

      I don't. You'd essentially need to connect quarter inch cables to you keyboard and route them to your audio interface inputs. You should then be all set.

    Do the USB data cable affect the recorded sound? What i mean is i bought a normal one i dont know if there is a high end or special one out there?

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  4 роки тому

      I think you should be fine with the regular USB cable. Your audio interface converts the audio it captures into 1's and 0's to be sent over the USB and into your computer, so, this digital information should not be affected by the quality of cable you're using.

    • @guitarhub90
      @guitarhub90 4 роки тому

      @@quantaaudio thanks. I was kinda speculating that these will be same as Guitar cables because i have a cheap guitar cable and Fender brand type of guitar cable and they do sound different, the fender could yield a finer sound though. Anyway it was nice to hear your opinion.

    @Quanta how do I get my waves 3rd party plugins to resize or look bigger in studio one? The waves plugins are so tiny I can even see the writing or numbers on the plugins. Thank you in advance, any help is appreciated.

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  5 років тому

      Ismaael, as far as I'm aware Studio One does not affect the size/resolution of the plug-ins that run within it. If you have another DAW you may want to open them in it, just to confirm. But, you can see that someone is having a similar problem with Waves in Logic, here: discussions.apple.com/thread/7512856

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  4 роки тому +1

      The best thing to do would be to experiment with different settings. A lot of it has to do with how capable your computer is. Just keep an eye on CPU meter in the transport bar and listen for any clicks/pops and try to get it lower than say 128, for recording. For mixing you can raise it up as high as you'd like, to conserve CPU usage.

    The fact that this is so archaic and downright user hostile is absurd. Not a dig on Studio One, literally every DAW is hell if you are trying to create even the most basic setup, nevermind using both hardware and an audio interface. I'm so aware of how salty I am. Fuck this shit. Guess I'll sign up for an engineering degree just to record a simple damn song. Been trying to setup my MC-101 which SUPPOSEDLY has the ability to record each of it's 4 tracks individually....supposedly. Who knows. I NEVER FUCKING WILL.
