  • Not having an opinion just means understanding that once you choose a side, you have put yourself in chains. I find it to be a lot more liberating to live a life with thoughtful intention and a more neutral stance on trivial matters.
You will be able to position yourself in a balanced state which will offer more peace throughout your life and allow you to effectively navigate through life's hardships with grace and dignity.

i have always been pretty open and willing to let most things go because i respect peoples feelings. It has been good for me mostly, but i have lost alot of friendships along the way. eventually you do have to stand your ground, a persons vision is fine until they want you to dance to their tune. i think i have had a lot of fake shady friendships because of this. it always ends in betrayal because at a certain point you do have to say no. it has always been a ability that has served me but often times hurt me in the end so hard to say what to think.

Agreed. Finding that balance here is key but difficult to obtain. I’ve found a having a sense of detachment from people (even those you care about) except for maybe one significant person can be an answer. It allows you to be open enough to not care and protect others feelings, but strong enough to completely walk away from the toxic ones. But if that one solid relationship crumbles so does the world around you, so it’s a risk. But everything’s a risk, including your life.

As a member of the no opinion life member, I have to agree. Sometimes is not worth arguing. But don't make the mistake that you can avoid arguments forever. It's a good power, but at the same time it's a very harsh filter of your actions and output in the world. Makes you think you are great and abysmally insignificant at the same time.

As someone who grew up a Catholic conservative who moved to a liberal city for college and my career, I don't really have intense opinions on anything anymore because people are innately flawed and tribalistic and despite humans being very nuanced and complicated, we still generally seem to attach ourselves to one political side or the other that seems to mostly encompass our core values. I still struggle with trying to be truly impartial and don't blame others for being emotionally attached to their ideology because I understand how hard it is to detach yourself from that, I just simply push people to just acknowledge they could be wrong. Maybe they aren't, but I just get annoyed by people that dog whistle or make sweeping statements or judgements about others due to they themselves clearly living in ideological bubbles and extreme confirmation bias. It's possible to hold values that can potentially fall on 2 extremes and that's fine. I can dislike big government while still believing some government is necessary for handling certain things that would be poorly mismanaged or corrupted by businesses or privatized entities.
A lot of this way of thinking was a result of being constantly angry about my failed dating life back in my 20s and finally realizing that for every woman I liked that flaked on or wronged me, I had actually done that at one point or another to women that had been interested in me. Was a frustrating period of my life but the realization allowed me to become a much more objective human being and understand that I'm no more or less flawed than any other human being, and that we're all just the products of our life experiences.

My opinion on this video is that it was not helpful. Just in case someone was wanting my opinion.

Whoa, what you were saying at around 5:45 is exactly what I said about something yesterday. I can believe one way is best but also accept that we need people who think differently to me in order for society to function.
I think this in general, but it's cool that what I said yesterday is basically being parroted.

My opinions are something for me to test and act on, it's not something to impose on others. I don't necessarily agree with neutrality. At some point you need values and principles to follow that sometimes people disagree with. I think the problem comes from people who are uncomfortable with disagreement that they couldn't let go of people who have different views. Having opinions is fine, it's the never ending argument that is unnecessary. So it is better to just keep those opinions to yourself rather than voicing it out to the wrong people.

I’ve always been pretty open to hearing people’s interpretations, even if I disagreed. I think that even though I disagree there is always something new to learn regardless if I had heard their stance more than once. I rarely get into arguments because all they do is cause stress. I always found it funny how so many people are filled with rage and hurt, vengeful in a way, perhaps its just an unhealthy way to destress themselves.

Nice video, I have lived this type of lifestyle passively ( 20% of all the actions i've done) and not to the fullest (i'm only 22 and know that I don't know anything and not expect to), and a opinion of mine to add is that when presented with a buffet of choices any choice in this lifestyle is valid and correct on their own, but to you its has some weight due to inherent biases from previous experiences.
TLDR: Make sure the choice you make is the one you actually want, not by price or opportunity, but by essence, which takes time to find and unique to you. Could be completely counterintuitive to the No Opinion Life but adds some flavor, like adding pineapple to pizza. Also make sure to not give a fuck about this opinion, also my choice from the buffet of today is to say you are wrong on everything you said on this video just because its a choice, god i'm starting to like this lifestyle.
