Did a valve body on o1m trans today. Connectors for the harness is the hardest bit. If people are getting codes N91 etc just replace its worth your time and not difficult thanks to excellent tuition like this. Thanks for your help.
It's amazing what a tiny little modification in the valve body can do to improve the durability of a transmission. Thanks for sharing. I have to see what model trans I have in a 2005/6 Mark IV Jetta TDI.
Outstanding video. I have to replace a solenoid in my 01M and have ordered the Transgo kit to install at the same time. Couldn't be happier to have found this video before I get stuck in to the job. Many thanks.
I just had a problem with my 01m Jetta Transmission going into reverse. It wouldn’t go into Reverse unless I gave it gas. I replaced the o rings on the reverse feed tube above the valve body and it seems to be good. Both seals were intact but they were flat. The o rings are a weird size. The green o ring kit from harbor freight had the correct ones.
That's awesome how Gil put two of those springs in the shift kit. He definitely knew how it was rebuilding transmissions in the real world, God rest his soul.
Shoot yeah. You gotta love the way he explained things in his instruction sheets supplied with his kits. He always talked about the transmission in question like it was a living thing, that had thoughts and feelings and such.
Thanks for the video. I had an 01M with no codes and TCC stuck on all the time. Sticking Boost Valve. Installed a Sonnax replacement boost valve. Your info and post repair confirmation with the Maxidas was helpful too. You are a credit to our profession.
Have an 05 jetta 6spd auto ...reves sometimes at hwy speed and clunks W/hard shift in reverse when warm ....but im not sure about tearing it all apart like you did...great job you make it look easy...
No separator plate gaskets? What a blessing that is. When you do have separator plate gaskets, how do you get valve body separator gaskets off Amigo? I know you probably know the fastest way possible. Thanks for all your helpful videos.
I love your show your very knowledgeable and sound honest and professional , ...I have a 2004 Isuzu Ascender it 4wd SUV , it's made by GM it has the same parts as the Chevy trailblazer .it just hit 100,000 mile in October last year , the transmission is a 460le with a low profile pan , my problem is that Drive or 3rd gear doesn't work ,,,the reverse and lower gear like 1&2 works , I experimented the other day I drove it around the block on 2 nd gear once it got to 30 miles per hour I shifted it to 3 rd than on drive and it worked fine ... I didn't hear any noise or other issue ...but once it dropped below 30 mph it didn't work on drive I had to put it back to low 2 ...what could it be ....please thanks.. It's been siting on my driveway since October 2014 ..
Excellent video. Is it necessary to rebuild the whole unit if just the solenoid is bad? I agree - 'while you're in there' kinda thing but on a lower mileage car might I get away with just replacing the solenoid? I suppose I might not know how worn the valve is.
i would like to see putting the solenoid valve back in place if is too much to ask thank you for the show very nice explanation also if you can do a video of the transmission parts!!! thank you
Just knocked it out real quick I like thatI'm so jealous of you good I do the same thing but I don't have a place where I can work issues with no answers. Yet
Hi I have a 2002 2.0 automatic jetta and I im getting very shift goin into 3rd, I drain and fill the fluid still have the problem. Do you think this coul be valve body issue? Thanks for the videos
Great info. Please make more videos where you show what PID's to look for on a scan tool and what to expect, so we can diagnose transmission problems. Thank you.
Gracias Hello, excellent explanation in your video. I have a Skoda Octavia MK1 with 01M trans. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Kind regards Tony
Perfect video, thank you friend! I have Sharan ´99, and it was working at 1,2, and R only. I changed the liquid, filtre and the cable from the solenoids is also new. In this moment is working R, and 1 only. Diagnostic shows, the solenoid 3 is wrong. Maybe I am not corectly filling the liquid? How to do it correctly with this type of transmittion? Thank for a great video. I have a 2014 VW Beetle with an NTJ transmission that I need the shifter cylinder on the valve body....by any chance do you have it or know somewhere I can get it? Thanks,
Hello Hiram, I dont know if you can read this but anyways I will write this comment. Im studying mechatronics engineer, Im from Mexico so if I have some mistakes I apologized. Recently I had some problems with my Jetta 2.0 2005 in this Valve 4 N91, the workshop replaced the vale (it had 8.4 ohms) but the mechanic told me that the problem continues, he put a VAG scan tool and show to me that the valve is not recognized and the other appear in the scan with a "SP" (i dont remember the meaning of SP). He told me that the ECU can be bad in some pad or resitance, i dont know but somenthing inside of the ECU. My question is if this can happend, like a short circuit in the valve can damaged the ECU. Thanks you!
Hi Hiram. great video... I have exactly the same valve body, and also "open Circuit" but mine says it on the Valve 6 (N93) has changed the solenoid, and still the same... any suggestions were to look, and what to do, would be greatly appreciated.... Best rgds. Henrik
In your opinion why is the transgo kit a better fix than reaming the the bores and using oversized valves? Thanks! Your 45rfe video really helped me during my first R&R!
The check ball that goes on the spring at 21:27 what does it control and what might the symptoms be if that spring is missing or broken. Thank you in advance.
Hi there, great video! I have a 2003 VW jetta automatic transmission. Last week a hit a deep pot hole with my front passenger tire. It busted the tire, loosened up my battery, on the other side and the next morning started jumping out of Drive to Neutro. It's starts fine when its cold but once its warmed up, when I come to a complete stop, it doesn't got and I have to shift down to 1st, it hits hard and goes...then I have to shift it back to Drive. I already brought it t a transmission place and they said the machine didn't read any codes and that they would have to go inside and it would cost me roughly a minimum of $1,800.What would you advice me to do? Could it be the problem you described on your video?Thank you!
Hi Hiram, Thanks for posting such a great informational video I have a 95 VW Eurovan with a either 3rd or 4th selonoid and most likely the preasure regulator - I will get the Transgo for the pressure but where can I find the selonoid? what or where did you get the selonoid since Dealer doesn't sell the selonoid are those selonoid specific for each 1st 2nd ..etc or all for selonoid has the same part number you replace with the bad location one also harness is it a dealer item ($318) or is there a after market ones thanks in advance for your help
I have a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, Valve body the dealer says, Good video, love it ! Where is your shop located ? The trans mission shop told me it needs a whole new rebuild, $4000.00 dollars.
Hola muchachones.
I have a 2003 Passat 1.8L turbo the pressure regulator is acting up.The Transmission is an ESZ will the repair be similar? what is the kit part number? It work great when cool but has a hard down shift and hard Drive engagement only when hot .I would appreciate any advice.I changed fluid and filter both crystal clean.
Hey - great vid! I have 2000 T4 Caravelle 2.5tdi Auto - the symptoms are just as you described in the video but the only error I get is 11092 - torque converter lock up clutch 4-10 mechanical intermittent. could this still be the Valve block causing the issue.? It drives very well apart from the slip. Thanks!
Please I have a question ? I got a Jetta 2004 1.8t 5 speed automatic and I have the same code. the car doesn't shift to fifth gear. Could be that valve in the valve Bady ?
Are u still in this channel. I got an audi c4 automatic. Just wana know a few things.when I change gears from park to reverse to neutral..I hear the relay click.but nothing clicking from drive to 3rd to 2nd and 1st.
Hello Hiram, Great video and appreciate your taking time to make it! Can you tell me where I can Purchase the Valve Body Ratcheting Plug adjustment tool you use to remove the old piece that is replaced with the new aluminum adjuster? Thanks Bob C.
Hey, first of all great Video! You make it look really easy! But I've a question. I have a Golf MK3 '97 Automatic Code CLB and 01M Valve Body. I think it is the same that you have there. But whne you open the first side, you have 4 balls on this side. I have just 3... The one you point at at 6:15 is missing. First I thought I lost it, but then I opend another identical valve body, and I had 3 over there, too. Is it possible, that there are differences, although they look pretty much the same? I'm not sure if both valve bodies were opend before, and someone lost the same ball on both valves. That's why I'm asking... Greetings from Germany
My friend, I have a VW Caravelle 1995 2.5 petrol. The box code is CUG. I bought the car in SAFE mode and it only runs in 3rd gear. After removing the oil pan of the gearbox, I see that on the right side there are 5 identical valves 331, and in place of these two there are two different ones 331 and 333. Is this normal or someone replaced one of the valves and instead of 4 valves 331 and one 333, all of them are 331. Error Valve 3(n90) short to ground gearbox. After connecting the computer for the first time, there was also error 00652.Thanks for the help
I have an 01 beetle will not down shift and it stays in 3 rd gear all the time unless I manually shift all gears work except 4th. Will this fix my problem
Hi Mr Hiram Gutierrez! I made the procedure to fix the valve body for a o1m gear. After all, the shifts do not work properly, then i made the manual restore to basic settings indicate on the solenoids instruction, after that, the shifts up work veri well, but the reverse gear work to foward and not to push back the car. i dont know what to do and i need your help or your advice, please i need help.
Hi hiram, I bought car with a 01m trans in limp mode. I got it out of limp mode but it slips/ hesitates revs high going into 3rd. It doesn't have any codes for solenoids. I was wondering if limp mode ruined the clutch packs for 3rd or if the solenoid could be sticking and not throwing any trouble codes?
Great video one of the the best I have seen yet. If I need to do a Valve body rebuild I will be prepared. I have a 99 vw beetle that is experiencing hard downshifting 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st. No transmission codes only 1 about kickdown plate. What do you think problem is.
I have Jetta 4 1.9TDI . Injectors and diesel pump has been serviced but diesel in not going through the injectors. Is it possible that it might be solenoid ? Or can it be wiring there by injectors . Basically diesel does not go to the engine . Would you please help me !!!
***** Why did you drill through the body @ 15:30 and is it absolutely necessary to do so? I was hoping to perform this shift kit and repair without removing the valve body off the car. Thanks!
Hi. sorry my english but i´ll try to do my question. I have a Seat Toledo automatic 2000. This use a 01M transmission lije Jetta (Your video). Well, this is in limp mode. right now. As you now this trnsmission have several sensors (G22, 38, 68 and 125). I scan the TCM and the result was. Sensor G 38 and 68 bad. Nevertheless i probe these sensor (Tester), and everu one show me 900 omhs. (IS ok not??), i tested the cables and they are ok. What do you think? Besides, i have a doubt with F 125. Why?? Because, the display PRND321 when i start the engine highlights the letter P (For example) and then no. I want to disarm this F125, because i´m curious. I wonder one more time if you have disarmed this sensor. As you know this transmission is in Limp mode. do you think in this f 125 multifunction switch? I need help ¡ Gracias José
Hi Hiram I know this video is a little old but on the off chance that you may still be monitoring it I have that exact issue with my jetta, VCDS software is giving me that code on my 2004 just just like what you reference in the video. I ordered a new solenoid but I'm wondering about that valve update kit that you installed. Do you think that will be necessary to complete the fix or will just replacing the solenoid be enough. Thanks for any advice.
Hello there... Excellent video, I have a question, I have a 2002 jetta 1.8t with the tiptronic automatic transmission and the car has 100,000 miles, it seems like it has not been abused but this are the symptoms..... If I don't warm up the car and shift it manually from parking thru all the gears for 3 minutes in the morning..... it does not shift from the first gear, I took it to a german shop and they tested the car for 3 days and they couldn't find anything..... it does not have any computer codes, I just did the smog test and it passed with flying colors..... once the car it's warmed up it runs beautiful... Another transmission expert told me that the problem is the transmission control unit I don't know what to think , I want to sell the car but people think the transmission is bad Any suggestions?... please let me know. Thanks in advanced
Transmission shift solenoids, the transmission has 9 solenoids I just replaced 3 of them and . . . N88, N89 and N92 the rest of them are for another functions, that fixed my car and still running good. Now if your car does not have the tiptronic automatic transmission the the solenoids might be different, but if is the same as mine then that is the cure for that issues . Hope it helps
hello, I have a 2000 jetta vr6 automatic that was slipping in take off so I removed the VB, clean it and replaced 3 spring that were broken, now it does not slip anymore it works just fine, but now it wont shift into 4th gear and when I put it in N the RPMs get lower like if it was put in drive; the opposite happens when I put it in D. I don't know what went wrong so any help is appreciated.
04 golf gti 1.8 turbo. when is cold onl take 10 to 15 seconds to shift you put it in drive. only. after that car will work fine. would you tell me what could it be?
sr gutierez tengo un jetta 00. 1.8 auto transmission my reverse goes on only when i put the shifter all the way down and then put it back in to reverse then goes in can it be the reverse soleniod thanks if you can help me

Gracias
hello I hope you can help me a few weeks ago I made a service automatic transmission of 4 speeds 01M, the problem is that after doing it once the car reaches its operating temperature fails, enters safe mode (stays in 3rd gear) scan throws me the generic code p0768, which refers to a failure in the selenoid D I need to know what is the D type since I do not know which one, because that precenter is faulty when I did the service the car is very good I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME ALREADY DE ANTE MANO MANY THANKS FRIEND

Great diy, I’m trying to figure out why my 01P trans won’t shift into 1,2 or 3 but has reverse. Have you seen this issue?
I believe that was one of the best diy videos I saw ,thanks for sharing
Already makes me glad they offer re-man valve bodied already assembled. This is too much to remember, unless you do it several times.

thanks in advance for your help
I have a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, Valve body the dealer says, Good video, love it ! Where is your shop located ? The trans mission shop told me it needs a whole new rebuild, $4000.00 dollars.
is it better to just change the trans with epc and shift problems, because trans shops don't want to go through all of this trouble
Hola muchachones.
Saludos
José

Hey - great vid! I have 2000 T4 Caravelle 2.5tdi Auto - the symptoms are just as you described in the video but the only error I get is 11092 - torque converter lock up clutch 4-10 mechanical intermittent. could this still be the Valve block causing the issue.? It drives very well apart from the slip. Thanks!
Sorunu nasıl çözdünüz acaba ne değişti
Please I have a question ? I got a Jetta 2004 1.8t 5 speed automatic and I have the same code. the car doesn't shift to fifth gear. Could be that valve in the valve Bady ?
Are u still in this channel.
I got an audi c4 automatic. Just wana know a few things.when I change gears from park to reverse to neutral..I hear the relay click.but nothing clicking from drive to 3rd to 2nd and 1st.
Is it necessary to replace and install a new shift kit? I just have a dead solenoid
Thank u so much.ima apply this to my audi 100.its a v6 automatic. Has reverse front ears engages but not moving
Hello Hiram, Great video and appreciate your taking time to make it! Can you tell me where I can Purchase the Valve Body Ratcheting Plug adjustment tool you use to remove the old piece that is replaced with the new aluminum adjuster? Thanks Bob C.
Fantastic video!! Thanks for sharing. Do you sell the valve body kit with the solenoid and hardness?
Is a 'no reverse' condition also related to the valve body and solenoids?
I was wondering if limp mode ruined the clutch packs for 3rd or if the solenoid could be sticking and not throwing any trouble codes?
deep stuff.. I have a lot to learn!
Is it safe to use the valvoline maxlife full synthetic atf in this transmission?
Great video one of the the best I have seen yet. If I need to do a Valve body rebuild I will be prepared.
I have a 99 vw beetle that is experiencing hard downshifting 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st. No transmission codes only 1 about kickdown plate. What do you think problem is.
+Dr Jose Hernandez check into software upgrade from VW first.
is there a video of how to get to the solenoids on the transmission to swap out?
Hi, how are you? which drill point used for the hole?
I have Jetta 4 1.9TDI . Injectors and diesel pump has been serviced but diesel in not going through the injectors. Is it possible that it might be solenoid ? Or can it be wiring there by injectors . Basically diesel does not go to the engine . Would you please help me !!!
***** Why did you drill through the body @ 15:30 and is it absolutely necessary to do so? I was hoping to perform this shift kit and repair without removing the valve body off the car. Thanks!
I would like a list of the Part Numbers for the parts that was changed. Thanks
Great video, where is your shop located I'm hoping it's nearby as I would like to bring my Eurovan in for you to diagnose. Thanks!
Hi, do I need to reprogram after replacing solenoid cause now it seeme it's not engaging any gear ?
thanks hiram
how much you charge for this job
Hi.
sorry my english but i´ll try to do my question.
I need help ¡
Gracias
José
Hi Hiram
I know this video is a little old but on the off chance that you may still be monitoring it I have that exact issue with my jetta, VCDS software is giving me that code on my 2004 just just like what you reference in the video. I ordered a new solenoid but I'm wondering about that valve update kit that you installed. Do you think that will be necessary to complete the fix or will just replacing the solenoid be enough. Thanks for any advice.
why is the VB off for a bad solenoid. Why not just replace the solenoid in the car???
Hello there... Excellent video, I have a question, I have a 2002 jetta 1.8t with the tiptronic automatic transmission and the car has 100,000 miles, it seems like it has not been abused but this are the symptoms..... If I don't warm up the car and shift it manually from parking thru all the gears for 3 minutes in the morning..... it does not shift from the first gear, I took it to a german shop and they tested the car for 3 days and they couldn't find anything..... it does not have any computer codes, I just did the smog test and it passed with flying colors..... once the car it's warmed up it runs beautiful...
Another transmission expert told me that the problem is the transmission control unit
I don't know what to think , I want to sell the car but people think the transmission is bad
Any suggestions?... please let me know. Thanks in advanced
my car does the same thing, wont shift into 2nd until it warms up. Did you ever find out what was wrong?
Transmission shift solenoids, the transmission has 9 solenoids I just replaced 3 of them and . . . N88, N89 and N92 the rest of them are for another functions, that fixed my car and still running good.
Now if your car does not have the tiptronic automatic transmission the
the solenoids might be different, but if is the same as mine then that is
the cure for that issues .
I want to thank you so much!!
You're welcome
Hi Hiram awesome, where you buying new parts ?

04 golf gti 1.8 turbo. when is cold onl take 10 to 15 seconds to shift you put it in drive. only. after that car will work fine. would you tell me what could it be?
hey could you answer me a question... how did you get the printed foil connector to disconnect from the main harness outside the transmission?
This is beautiful.

Hola amigo. Gracias

hello I hope you can help me a few weeks ago I made a service automatic transmission of 4 speeds 01M, the problem is that after doing it once the car reaches its operating temperature fails, enters safe mode (stays in 3rd gear) scan throws me the generic code p0768, which refers to a failure in the selenoid D
I need to know what is the D type since I do not know which one, because that precenter is faulty when I did the service the car is very good
I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME ALREADY
