Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on UA-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on UA-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on UA-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Did you notice when he leaned over and smiled, that was actually to his son Jessie who was in the crowd.

Dylan is reported to have said, while watching one of his children sleeping, the song Forever Young came to him. A hymn hoping for his children’s future.

The sound and energy of this version of “baby let me follow you down” is so reminiscent of Dylan’s 1966 electric tour with the band it’s uncompromising loud and raw some proper rock n roll

One of the reasons this film and concert are so great is that The BAND is just leaving it all out there on the stage. Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Richard Manuel and Garth Hudson just letting go and playing till the end. And Mr. Bob Dylan is standing back and letting them do it. For something that is equally great you should do the Muddy Waters song "Mannish Boy". Muddy's real name is McKinley Morganfield, and he is, was, a real Delta, then Chicago Bluesman.

The Band got their start as the Hawks as in; Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks. When Bob Dylan went from Acoustic Folk to "electric", the Hawks changed their to The Band and toured and recorded with Dylan for two Albums.

This song will always remind me of my mom who passed in 2009. “May your heart always be joyful, may your song always be sung.” We’re still singing your song Mom. ❤️

Bob started as part of the folk revival in the early 60's. He was known for "protest songs", just him strumming his guitar punctuated with harmonica. When he performed at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965 he was backed by rock musicians. This didn't go over well with the folk purists who accused him of selling out. But he was determined to go his own creative way and doing so added many extra dimensions to his music. He concluded his set at Newport with "Like A Rolling Stone" and as the song starts you can hear him say "Play it fu**in' loud!" After that he began touring with The Hawks and the rest is history

Baby Let Me Follow you Down, is an old blues song that Dylan picked up from Eric Von Schmidt. It was also the first single by the Animals (retitled as "Baby Let Me Take you Home"). Interestingly enough, the Animals next single was also a song from Dylans first album, "House Of The Rising Sun".

It seems to me that while this concert was being filmed, Bob Dylan wanted to spontaneously transition into the second song and signaled The Band. The Band are such great musicians and so professional that they easily adjusted. Lots of great songs and performances in this concert. I would recommend The Bands own song called It Makes No Difference. Great reaction and it's always enjoyable to watch your reactions.

I love "Forever Young". I love to play it to and it's been in my setlist when I play out for 50 years now! It also has a personal connection. I stopped playing it for a year in 2005 when my partner of almost twenty years passed away. I couldn't sing it without choking up because I used to sing it to her at home. Actually in that period I also had to take two other Dylan songs out of my setlist, "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" and "Lay Lady Lay" for the same reason. "Lay Lady Lay" was especially hard because we actually bought a king size brass bed and the first thing I did when we got it home was to pull out my guitar, sit on the bed and sing it to her.
"Baby Let Me Follow You Down" is another great one, and that one I've been playing for over 50 years! I actually happened to run through it earlier tonight when I was practicing, though I do the acoustic folk version from his very first album, but I loved this rock version too.
Another excellent Dylan concert appearance on film is in "The Concert for Bangladesh".
I very much enjoyed your reaction to this one.

Dylan always did whatever he wanted: change the melody of his old songs, add lyrics, and not play songs he was tired of playing. The Band could shift with him to another song, and
he knew it. The outstanding Muddy Waters does an excellent job of his classic Mannish Boy, and you'd love it.

Muddy Waters...Mannish Boy, next. The story goes that Dylan stopped Forever Young and then sprung Baby let me follow you down, thus the quizzical looks and the discussions prior the song, haha

For someone not generally considered a great vocalist, Dylan really has changed his voice over the years. I think he is underappreciates in that regard.

The Last Waltz is one of the greatest concert films ever made, but it’s also bittersweet and symbolically marks the end of an era for many of the performers on that stage. As any fan of the Band will ask, did Robbie really have to end the group? Some could see the whole project as Robbie’s vanity project.

Right before they start the second song, there's a close up of Rick and Robbie, Rick is smiling, Robbie looks serious, and tired. The Last Waltz was Robbie's idea and as always he carried the heaviest burden. Barney Hoskyns wrote in his biography of The Band, if 16 years on the road didn't kill Robbie Robertson The Last Waltz might. Robbie wrote in his book, a few hours before the concert started he went back to his hotel, trying to get some sleep, realizing he had been exsisting on drugs rather than sleep and good nutrition. He found sleep impossible, despite all the stuff going on and all the people around he felt very much alone. He took a cold shower, his wife brought him some food, and off he went to the concert. Fortunately adreline is a powerful drug as is coke, as we all can see in The Last Waltz.

05:55, Bob says "G7", Levon doesn't know where they're going, Rick and Robbie don't know either. They hang on G7 per Bob's instruction and bam! Right into it.

    IT’S NOT EDITED!!!
Bob just had enough of the song!!
But we get a glimpse of what the Band n other musicians have said, that “you have to watch his hands”! Then he starts Baby n they just lean into it!!
    He’s amazing!!
