    Husqvarna TX300 review. We took the all new 2017 Husqvarna TX300 to Southern Utah's 5 Miles of Hell. This is the perfect place to see what the TX300 is capable of! It is a rough and technical route through rocks, sand, and tall ledges. See what Justin's first impressions are, and if this really is the "do-all" bike for the offroad rider!
    Husqvarna's TX300 is one of three dirt bikes in the "hybrid" line. This bike is designed for the rider who has dual purpose riding in mind but only wants to use one bike. The near twin to the KTM 300XC, Husky captured that vision with the TX300, a bike with a "do-all" attitude that lets you run this bike out on the track, yet still ride enduro and mountain single track on the weekends. If you need Husqvarna parts and accessories, get them online at www.rockymountainatvmc.com! #RIDEON

    Much better review than any reviews from Dirtbikemagazine.com (NO DISRESPECT INTENDED) here on youtube. Great job, will be buying a TX300 or the TE300. My riding will be in New Mexico. So please more reviews in desert-high desert. Thanks for not selling or pushing a product. Happy trails

    I can give you some suggestions on the jetting for our altitude. I've got my 2017 KTM 300 XC running very well. No complaints about the carb from me :)

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  7 років тому

      We appreciate that Kyle, thanks man. We've contacted Jay Clark about the jetting and sounds like he has some tricks up his sleeves for this ol' beast. Great content you're putting out my friend, cheers.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  7 років тому

      apparently the husky airbox doesn't breathe as good as the ktm. I just opened up the husky box and am playing with a few things. My only complaint (minor) is a rough spot when the powervalve starts to open. I have some fine tuning to do with the jetting and/or powervalve spring. Where did you end up on the power valve spring? Thanks!

    • @DirtBikeChannel
      @DirtBikeChannel 7 років тому +5

      I always run the Red Aux spring in the power valve on these bikes. To me, that makes the bike more predicable and the transition from "off the pipe" to "on the pipe" smoother since it happens at a lower RPM. Like I mentioned before, I'm happy to share Jetting offline if you email me at kyle@dirtbikechannel.com I've owned 4 of these 300s. The new motor isn't much different in its power delivery, its just smoother due to the counter balance shaft. Spinning that shaft takes a very small amount of the low end out of it, but I don't think it's really noticeable as much as people complain about. Put that red spring in the bike and she'll come alive!

    Great review, thanks for that as I've been thinking about selling my 2014 Husaberg TE300 and switching to a Husky 350. But now that I seen this review, I believe I'll be staying with the 300 2 stroke. I ride a lot of tough stuff but missed 5MOH this last year when I was there. This year I hope to hit it up and hopefully on a new bike (not that there's anything wrong with my Berg other than the horrible suspension)

      we run the trails in tamaqua PA that are associated with the east coast enduro associations rorr event, its public land so it can be ridden. gnarly single track loops loaded with varying terrain, rock and root. if you compete, the trails in the district 6/ ecea's hurricane hills event (the motocross tracks off road course) are some of the best trails I've ever ridden. steeps, rock faced climbs and tight fast trails will make you feel like your in an ironman event. also look into broome tioga, no longer a national track, they have a practice track schedule that allows you to run their trails, with dark rutted rocky trails!

      Mike Mo your not lying... do a search on Google for riding areas. There's a lot off trail systems opening up in NC mountains, and south VA..... Probably the best Trail system on the east coast is Hatfield and Macoy Trail system. Getting to where we have to travel farther these days.

    What's everyone's take on the TE300 vs the TX300? I get a lot of conflicting info between the two. Afaik, the TX is lighter due to lack of headlight, different lighter forks and? I'm curious how people would differentiate the the two, strengths weaknesses etc... thanks! Would the TE be better for five mile of hell?

    Good review of a great bike. Question: What mic do you use to record this and is it available through RMATV&MC for rider helmet communication systems? My buddies and I are looking for communication systems for dual sport and riding new offroad areas where it's more difficult to keep groups together.

    Justin,
    Just curious on tire pressures for terrain like that and how the wheels are holding up with the stock tubes.
    I am pretty convinced this is my next bike. Getting older and I dream of a machine that doesn't show its weight. Assuming the Dunlops are the 81's as well. Great ride and thanks for the real time review. Matt

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  7 років тому +1

      Hi matt. Thanks for the comments and questions. Yes, these were the stock 81s with stock tubes. Lower pressure definitely helps with traction through this slower technical stuff, but I don't want to risk a flat either. I was running 13 psi through this. I did notice a ding in the front wheel later, but I don't recall hitting anything that hard (good forks!). I have since put on our Tusk wheels and Bridgestone ultra heavy duty tubes - the tubes add some weight, but they are tough. I will do the bike build video in a couple weeks. - Justin

      I've ridden this trail. Its pretty knarly. Its in Utah. Different states have different requirements and Utah is very easy for riding a dirt bike. Especially on BLM (government) land. Someone told me Utah is only 2% privately owned and another guy told me Utah has over 3 million miles of off highway trails. There's literally trails for days and days in Utah buts its still better if you have a plated street legal bike.

    just curious. does Husqvarna grease all the pivots and headset bearings with enough grease? my kawasaki came with nearly zero grease anywhere. I had to do a full tare down rebuild to be satisfied. Lots of Castrol Pyroplex blue grease and blue loctight on all the nuts and bolts and screws. if you've never used Castrol Pyroplex blue grease make sure you have gas or wd40 or diesel to get it off your hands. this stuff gets really sticky with moisture. I use it in my mud truck and u-joints are never dried out after a run. try it

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  7 років тому

      In my experience, all the makers go light on grease. It never hurts to grease up a new bike. I haven't tore into this one yet, but will soon!

    question .... can you install a head light plug N play or are there mods that need to be done first? same question for the yz250x also. I'm trying to decide what is better for me. or should I get a te300

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  7 років тому

      Yes, it looks ready for plug and play on the light. The TE light and switch should hook right up (I just don't think they are available yet). I was tore between the TE and TX as well. I went with the TE for the AER fork - TE has the new explorer fork. I hear it is great too, but I had experience with the AER and wanted it.
      The YZ250x does not have a lighting coil for headlights.

      Great observation! I made it to the truck on fumes - one wrong turn and I wouldn't have made it. My float height is off and and have gone leaner on the jetting since. I need another big ride to check mileage - I have to get better than 48 miles on a tank!!

      No! Who knows how long you will have to wait. The jetting isn't that bad. This bike is so good we had to be picky on the flaws. The good thing is, the carb can be tuned. I pretty much have this one tuned in. What elevation are you riding?

      I'm in Louisiana so I'm at sea level. I put a Lectron on my 14' TE300 Husaberg and only ever have to touch the idle screw. I guess a better question would have been if you had considered going that direction.
