Brings back so many memories. Great video. White Clay. We were staying at Hole in the Wall and ended up meeting a few friends in Coffee Bay by pure coincidence. Ended up at White Clay Restaurant that evening for the most fabulous and friendly dinner of my entire life. Everything was excellent, the company the place the people and the wonderful food.
20 years ago I lived for many months in my lovely van there. But never once needed a camp site. So many beaches and places to stay for free. An amazing country.
Love the content this is what I would like to do in the near future thank you for showing us amazing sites to camp Van life is just amazing been a big fan and I'm glad I found van lifers in South Africa
Hey Guys just started following you. What a wonderful adventure you're having. My wife and I (much older than you:) are wanting to do this next year (working as we go....How did you decide on the Fiat Ducato? I have been looking at the Nissan NV350 (cheaper than the HiAce), but i think the Fiat cabin space is bigger and wider? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Hey hey. Ahh thanks! We mostly went with the Fiat because that’s the one that fitted in our budget. We also liked the more boxy shape for the Fiat. So we can sleep across the van, where as the others you have to sleep length ways because they more narrow. We also wanted the high roof so that we could stand upright in the van and then went for the short wheel base so we could drive it with the Code 8 license
@@MichaelandAcacia great thanks. Over the weekend i did a lot more research and those were 2 of the common threads. I am tall :).. mine is also a budget thing, how have you found the Fiat has it been reliable? Then, also, when you've parked at camping site and you need to pop out for something, if a town is close-by, do you find that having a small car that you tow would be useful, budget aside? i suppose that would vastly increase your fuel consumption as well? (other than using bicycles of course)
@@DeonvanDruten yea I would get the Fiat if you are tall. I’m also pretty tall and fit nicely. The Fiat is known as the best Vanlife vehicle in Europe so that’s why went for it.. Fiat has a stigma in SA but I feel that was from a long time ago. We love our van. We have never towed a vehicle so I’m not sure about that one. But it definitely will increase your fuel consumption a lot and will also restrict you when you traveling between campsites. It only takes 2-5 minutes to pack the van and move on. So we just use our van for transportation or the bicycle
What a beautiful area! Love the drone work, too. My husband and friends are planning a camping trip to South Africa next year from Canada. We can't wait! Two questions: 1. What are the best websites/apps for finding campsites? 2. What are the drone laws? We would love to bring ours with us.
Hey hey! Ahh thanks so much and that sounds super cool! We would love to explore Canada 🍁 1 - we use an app called iOverlander and then just Google search. But we have been to nearly 100 campsites and have captured most of them on our website as well - www.saltycpro.com/yeti-the-van 2 - drone laws are not as hectic as Canada. The main ones like airports and large crowds etc but like flying on the wild coast in open areas. Just fly and have fun ✨🎉
@@MichaelandAcacia Thanks so much for the info! We are familiar with iOverlander for our travels around North America, so it's nice to hear that we will be able to continue to use it there. Looking forward to going through all the campsites you've reviewed on your website. Cheers!
Yes we feel safe. We do research about the campsite and the area. If we don’t feel safe we luckily have the option to just jump in the driver seat and head to a new spot
Another great video. Love the music compilation, it's awesome. The wildcoast is beautiful.
Thank you!! We love the wild coast! 🤩
Real video guys we absolutely love it. We're not sure if our 2025 adventures will take us to Africa this year. But we'll definitely be following ❤

Do you guys feel safe staying at all these places, what do you do to ensure you will feel safe at a campsite? Love your videos!

Good lord am I greener than the hulk with envy! Is it true that cannabis grows like weed in that area?
Very true
Only in SA you will get cows on a beach😂
