Me too! Was totally blown away by the raw beauty - look, it’s been totally abused with the mining etc & because of its isolation it’s difficult to patrol BUT still wow wow wow
@@MariusRobertsProductions Well I think you should, as you most certainly have the passion and way of telling a story. Not many folk out there have that charm. USE IT!
Excellent episode Marius! I meant to introduce myself at the X55 launch in PE. Doing some of these trips are big on my bucket list. I did Baviaanskloof in the B40 last year
Hey Clint thanks man! Was such a fun trip - annoyed that I haven’t got on the road to do another yet! Impressive car that X55 is - hope you enjoyed the launch!
@@MariusRobertsProductions i agree that is not cool but I'm sure you'll get out there as soon as you can! The launch was great and the X55 even more impressive!
You sommer want to find a crayfish.. :-)...beware if Piet Skiet hears about this...lol..But I am glad you enjoyed the Westcoast...it is my special place..
Haha I hear you! Don’t worry, am definitely not that kinda guy as you saw with me losing my crap with people littering & breaking bottles!! But it’s a truly unbelievable place...have to get back there
Hey Peter Thank you so much for such a cool message! I cant believe its been TWO years since we did the first trip and I wont lie, I am so frustrated that a second trip hasn't happened as yet! Never thought I'd have to mission like this to get partners onboard to support it... I haven't given up though and things are looking positive for a trip end of January - if it doesn't pan out, I'll do we own thing with my own vehicle etc. and go from there. The thing is it ultimately takes like 6 months of my time - a month of planning, a month on the road but then its the edit that takes the longest time so its tough to dedicate that amount of time without at least covering my costs. The first season was done for the love and passion for my concept, confident that we'd have the financial support going forward but that didn't work out. But it really was a life changing experience and something I am passionate to keep doing - there are so many amazing stories to tell!
We didn’t really encounter terrain that required hardcore 4x4 and low range BUT whenever we were on dirt roads, sand tracks etc we were in 4H - it just adds an additional level of safety and control on the gravel
So when you got to Groenriviermond why did you not go through the Sanparks Namaqua park? It would have been a lot shorter drive. Anyway....waiting for the next one.. :-)
We were totally in the dark with which way to go! Wasn’t sure if we could continue all the way through - wasn’t sure with mining operations etc. so this was the route our Garmin showed us...pretty sure the first part of it wasn’t for public 🙈
Hey Graeme thanks for the message! If you scroll to the end of the video all the contact details are on screen for Waterval - they have a Facebook Community page but you can whatsapp Therese who owns the land.
AWD? I would say so but you would need to drop tyre pressure - up on the top road its easy enough - don’t even need much ground clearance - its just if you drive down to the actual camp site we were at, the sand will be a problem without AWD.
How i miss the Northern will be wild xampibg and walking that area in two mobths from have a few friends that stay there and in Kleinsee Port Nolloth Steinkopf etc.
Hey Renaldo will post the route up on my social media tomorrow - have had a few requests for this. All the info is at the end of each episode but have put it into one image with contact details and co-ordinates as its not easy to send the GPX files
Hey Bronwyn I never actually shared the details of that property like I do with all the others because its a private working - we only got to stay there through friends of the owner.
Haha I hear you BUT I think it’s time we introduce our ‘boertjie’ friends to a damn good stew! The layers make no sense to me - how do you release all the flavors??
A great vid, mate.
Thank you so much.
Any bloke who travels with three dogs has to be a great guy!
God bless,

love your road trips camping 😍💃
Thank you so much!!! So happy to be doing it again 😊
This is one of my hearts desires ..Im inlove with the West coastline of South Africa..absolutely astonishing 😍

We stay on the West Coast of South Africa
I love the Westcoast
Fell upon this footage WOW NICE JOB wondered where you had got to from the TV car shows. Just love the doggies.
Thanks Danny - still do the car stuff when I get a chance but could easily do overlanding trips like this forever! Life changing hey....

Wonderful footage - You are indeed blessed to be able to experience this. Love that espresso maker - Where can I get hold of one?
Thank you so much Heinrich - what a beautiful country we life in hey!
I actually got that from SnoMaster - they have a store in Jhb and are online
Thanks Marius.
Great place. I have been there 4 years ago over Christmas and found not a shop open for business😢
With this trip in the Blue Isuzu, have you used the 4x4 function at all and where?

Hey Marius, just loved your camping spot by the sea where you had your potjie. My idea of heaven, did you say it’s Watervaal?

You were so close to Kleinsee
Marius, can you possibly share the route? Would love to take the family over December.

I am at the m9ment in Port Elizabeth.
You missed the most beautiful part driving through the Namaqa National Park
Which part is that? Which way should we have gone? So difficult as we cant see it all and I had a basic route and timing I had to stick to...
can you give the contact details for the farm/vinyard on the Orange River Augrabies area....
Hey Bronwyn I never actually shared the details of that property like I do with all the others because its a private working - we only got to stay there through friends of the owner.
Only thing that resembles a potjie there is the pot as I get told by my boertjie friends, to much stirring so no layers
Haha I hear you BUT I think it’s time we introduce our ‘boertjie’ friends to a damn good stew! The layers make no sense to me - how do you release all the flavors??
@@MariusRobertsProductions I'm with you my favorite potjie is a rump and guiness stew
A potjie is not a stew!
Marius, you sound like ingelsman, geen wonder Jy weet nie om n pot te maak nie.
