Diving for Scallops in Cornwall

Well I remembered to charge my GoPro this time, typically the viz was shocking as result 😂😂
Launched the boat out of Mylor harbour with a friend that has never even snorkelled before. The swell was much bigger than expected and after about half hour in the water in a nice safe spot my mate was about ready to start chumming the water with his breakfast so he hopped into the boat to try to get himself settled. I dived for a few razor clams then into the boat and over to a more sheltered spot to get on some scallops instead.
On the way over I found a couple of helium balloons floating in the water so grabbed then out the sea and made out way to the mark. Its a well known spot but I wont name it so I don't add to them being hit any harder.
With my mate still feeling rough he elected to stay on the boat and relax in the sheltered water trying to get himself sorted. Jumping in the viz was still pretty bad on the surface but as I hit the bottom it was apparent I had landed in the exact spot I was looking for. Suffice to say I had a pretty good haul of scallops
Sharing my catches has always been one of the things I enjoy most about spearfishing/foraging and today was no exception. 16 people were fed from the scallops I found so it was all used up straight away with no waste. I also returned a lot of them, even the ones that were legal but only just.
My mate however didn't recover until he got back on dry land but undeterred he is going to give it another shot tomorrow so fingers crossed we can get him a fish 🤞
Here is just a couple of clips from the day, my best dive was 8 in one dive but I don't have that on camera, I did have a couple other dives where I found 7 though and got one on film.
