For anyone following the tabs: some 2nd quarter tabs show on the A string but he is on the D string: A - D3 - 1 - 3 - 3 -A -D3 -1 -3. Thanks for teaching this song!
Gosh man I’m so glad you have these hank William videos. I’m just now learning the fiddle and still got a while to go but this is the first song I’ve been working on. Still hi at getting my sound right tho and not too concerned with playing songs yet. But I’ve been looking at like all your vids. Great stuff man. Thanks a lot. You have soooo many videos haha. And the way you lay it all out is perfect.
This tune is a lot easier to get all shreddy with if you're playing out of GDGD. I'm supposed to perform in church this Sunday. I'm planning on playing the chorus of Amazing Grace once through solo, then launching into this bouncier number where the rest of the band will join in, but I've only ever played banjo in like jam settings and the farmer's market... I am kind of shitting myself. Hope it goes well.
Do you think you could do a video for puttin on the Ritz at some point, I'm still struggling a little with sheet music and was wondering if you could put it up in tab??:) I love your work I find it so easy to pick up songs with the explanations you give!! Keep up the amazing work, you're inspiring fiddle players everywhere!!
Storm Yeoman Walker, did you know we have a FiddleHed Facebook page? There is a request event going on there this week. Go there, look for the post about the request event and list Puttin' on the Ritz. If it is in the top five, it might be the next video.
Is that a mistake at about 3:30 ? The little box show to play D third finger on the a string, but it looks and sounds like your playing G, 3rd finger on the D string.
Hunter, I put this on the request list already. It is a very long list. This is a free channel and I have only so much time to make videos and manage the content. Thank you for watching.

+noel smith Good idea! I put this on the request list. Because this is a free channel I only have so much time to devote to creating videos and content. Which means I only get to the things that have many requests or that seem really essential, and only when I have time outside of paying gigs. If I started to do this full time I could keep up with all requests but it would mean Fiddlehed would become a (highly affordable) subscription service. But it also would mean that there would be even more content (sheet music, mp3s, and even books). Would this interest you? I’m excited about the idea of getting even more involved in this way but I don’t want to alienate viewers by charging for full access to all the content. Even if I follow through with this subscription service idea, there will still be loads of free videos on UA-cam. Your feedback is appreciated! And thanks for watching Fiddlehed! Cheers!

I recently watched your video and I was thinking in practicing violin but my friends say that most violinist are girls and if I play I might be called gay
Jordan John, ignore them. If you like the violin, play it. Music is a great way to meet girls. Trust me. There are so many famous male fiddlers, so many famous male classical violinists. Maybe some of them are gay, but many of them aren't. They play music with their families, with their children. Playing the violin isn't the marker.
I love how you make your lessons and brake them up. your probably the only person I can really learn from by watching videos
+Sarah Bradshaw excellent! You're welcome 😀
makes the great basic tune for warm up and the reminder that speed doesnt always work for every tune... thanks for the great instruction
